Bengals get Andy Dalton under contract

With new arrival Bruce Gradkowski and recently-resigned backup Jordan Palmer unable to practice until the new League Year officially begins, the Bengals need their rookie second-rounder on the field to throw passes to receivers not named Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco.

And they’ll have Andy Dalton on the field.  The team announced that the former TCU quarterback has signed his rookie contract.

The move, along with the signing of third-round linebacker Dontay Moch, puts all eight draft picks under contract for the team.

The Bengals also announced the addition of Gradkowski and the re-signing of two unrestricted free agents: running back Brian Leonard and safety Gibril Wilson.

Dalton has the look of a future front office executive. Matter of fact, if the Bengals are smart they will affect that position change immediately.

And, in four years, he’ll “retire” too.

First year will be tough for you, Mr. Dalton. But I have faith that help is on the way. And getting to start the relationship with Mr. Green early in both of your careers will lead us back to glory….. wait, just to glory, not back……. Go Big Red Bengal!

For the first practise, Andy should screw everyone up and just paint the black stripes on his dome… Come out lookin crazy, Mr Dalton! Go BRB!

Stick to your guns Mr. Brown, you have a fine stable of QBs w/o Carson.

Didn’t think I’d be able to type that without busting a gut laughing.

I liked Dalton a lot coming out of college, I think he will outplay his draft position by a good deal. Hopefully being a Bengal doesn’t destroy his will to live.
