Bengals lose linebacker for the season

The lack of an offseason program resulted in the absence of the kind of serious injuries that knock guys out for a full season.  Now that football practice is back, it’s time for ligaments to tear, bones to break, and tendons to pop.

Bengals linebacker Roddrick Muckelroy, a fourth-round pick in 2010, said on his Twitter page that he suffered a ruptured Achilles’ tendon at practice on Saturday, according to the Associated Press.

The team declined to confirm the injury, possibly as the team scrambles to sign his replacement before the candidates realize they have a little extra leverage.

Muckelroy played in 14 games last year, ranking second in special-teams tackles.

Has to put up with the instability the lockout brings, then gets hurt and has to miss a full season, you really gotta feel for him, hope you keep your roster spot big guy

Dang, Bungles just can’t catch a break. This sounds like a bad Omen to the start of the season for them.

The be goes have very bad luck. Maybe the owner will do the right thing and trade Palmer.

He can’t pop a tendon! He signed a contract!

Also, Mike Brown’s not gonna reward Roddrick for popping a tendon by placing him on IR.

If I could ask the football gods for one thing general NFL wise, it would be that no player ever got injured (hurt is one thing, injured is another).

It would be hard NOT to feel for the guys who get injured because most of them work so hard. No matter when it happens it’s always heartbreaking for them. They have to have so much mental and physical toughness to rehab and get back out there. I’m just glad that at least he has access to the team drs and trainers now.

This is very unfortunate but, given the lockout circumstances, we can expect to see much more of these types of injuries.

Just out of curiosity, where is T.O.? What did the Bengals do with him?

Roddrick Muckelroy is the coolest football name since Cortland Finnegan…maybe they can be butlers once their playing days are over…

An Achilles injury isn’t done from a lack of working out or preparation.. so can’t blame the lockout on this one the just happen… Another bad break for the bengals…

Wonder if this means the Bengals have no chance at making the playoffs?
