I will also say this:
Vikings D. Coord. gave the Packers the roadmap to beat Mike Vick last year. Blitz the hell out of him…he can’t find his targets fast enough. That is how u beat the Eagles.

Jenkins is a solid, solid pick-up for the Vikings. His speed is not quick off the line, but when he hits stride, man can he move…and he has hands….I don’t get how he hasn’t had more balls thrown his way…(oh yeah…last year had 69 targets and zero drops). Maybe because he’s had some other good targets on his team like Roddy White, Michael Turner and Tony Gonzalez…..that will reduce your targets I’m sure.
He is in NO way a replacement for Rice…but hell, one good year in four and you’re going to miss him that much? Don’t think so.

Vikes may end up in the cellar. Who knows….we have a 1,2 punch of AP and Toby with musgrave’s run first offense. Two extremely talented TE in Shiancoe and new 6-6, 260lb Kyle Rudolph, for musgrave’s two tight end sets, Jenkins, Harvin, Arceneaux (a CFL standout WR) Berrian (who has never lived up to his potential) jaymar Johnson, and Camarillo…..
Plus now we have a 5 time pro-bowl QB with 16 game playoff experience to run the offense while our #12 pick Rookie learns.
We also have a pretty fair defense.
How did the 6-10 Vikings do against the Eagles again last year with a Rookie QB starting his first game???hmmmm…oh yeah.
Eagles have beefed up their defense…nothing more.

Donovan is 1 of the best at spreading the ball around. He was forced to be because how medial his receivers were early in his career. So if Berrian cant finally duplicate what he did in Chicago he never will.

Unless of course he some how makes it to the Saints because no matter who you are Drew Brees will get you 500 yards. Alvin Harper would could put up a G with Brees as his qb. Actually the Saints probably already have a wr corps full of Alvin Harper’s. Its just that Brees is so good at what he does that even average receivers make big plays for the Saints because the defense never knows where hes going next.

Brees you might be Berrian’s only hope if the doesnt improve in Minnesota or doesnt get the chance to and gets cut.

Okay, let’s see if we can clear something up…. the best way to slow down edge rushers is to run inside of them. Bust a couple big runs to the inside of them and they will keep an eye to that gap. With Favre, every DE was teeing off to smack him. With a running game plan, they will have to play straight up. And aside form that, as a former lineman myself, I can tell you that the best way to get a line playing to their best is with good old fashioned power running, and that is what you will see a lot of from the Vikes this year.

I could go into the multiple reasons why you’re stupid, but I’ll give you two. #1, it’s Kool Aid, with a “K”. I know the word is really spelled “cool”, but the product isn’t. but that’s not important. Now, for the reasons your little “I just repeat what Anthony Gargano tells me to” points are stupid as well, um, did you realize that the Eagles lost in the first round of the playoffs at home? Seriously, did you? On a bad interception with no time-outs left? You’re trying to prove that Donovan was the problem all along, but at least he actually won some games in the playoffs. How did vick do? Seriously, think for yourself and look at facts. I know it’s easier to listen to Philly talk-radio, but you just sound stupid.

It’s a good move. Jenkins will be a quality possession receiver for McNabb, and compliment Harvin nicely. He doesn’t replace Sidney Rice, but it wasn’t worth it to keep Rice at the numbers he was demanding.

Now, if they can just drop Barrian and pick up a replacement (Malcolm Floyd?) for him, the WR corps will be serviceable.

before all you Viking fans get all uppity and start talking smack and thumping your chest let me remind you of some undeniable facts…yes you’ll be better this year but so will the entire division (ok maybe not the Bears lol)..and there was a reason you had J. Webb playing QB last year..because your offensive line was abysmal in their pass protection and by the end of the season both brINT and Jackson were so beat up that you had no choice but to play Webb…your tackles couldnt block speed edge rushers if they had a gun and you’ll have the same Oline this coming year. Mcnabb will be an upgrade and unless your Oline can block better you might be better off getting recievers like Jenkins and Berrian as both of them are more adept at catching passes underneath then getting yards after catch. All things being equal its so much better talking football rather than lockouts!

Vikings should really dump Berrian and his ridiculous price tag and pick up Malcom Floyd for roughly the same price. With our offensive line healthy again this year, we’d actually have a really good offense again if McNabb can pull it together.

I have read several posts in which writers are conceeding the confrence to the Eagles. Did anyone not learn from the Miami Heat. Season hasnt even strated & I’m already sick of hearing about how great the Eagles are.
As a Vikings fan I too, am a bit dissapointed with the lack of my team to go and get some more proven producers. But with the salary cap issues they have, its understandable.
I am puzzeled why Barrian, with his lack of production is still on the roster.
Hopefully Speilman is reading this and will call me for consultation

Couple things:

1. Jenkins is a great run blocker and great possession receiver. He is not here to be the down field threat many of you want him to be.

2. Rice’s best year was also Brett favre’s. This was not a coincidence but a result of 50 percent favre, 30 Peterson and 20 rice.

3. This is harvin’s time to shine. Yes, he will work out of the slot but Jenkins will too and this allows him to use his speed on intermediate crossing routes. Arceneaux/berrian will stretch it and 2 nice pass catching tight ends underneath.

4. Be realistic. The pack are goona be tough to unseat, but the wildcard race is wide open. Vikes, saints, bears, cowboys and giants will all be fighting it out til week 17.

Finish line for what? The race to become the off-season champions? Last time I check you guys lost to a Joe Webb-led Vikings team so I wouldn’t be talking to much trash about our chances this year.

Vikings are getting no respect but that’s ok. Bears overachieved last year like they do every few years, and they’ll go back to mediocrity this year. It’s the same old cycle. Lions are all hype and are pumped up that they managed to beat the vikings for just the 2nd time in over a decade last season. Packers are the champs and I’ll give them respect for their playoff run, but realistically they were just a 10-6 team last year and didn’t even win the division. I don’t think the Vikings are the pushovers everyone is expecting.

Poor Donovan. The guy will never have good WR’s. The Eagles tried T.O. (possibly the only good WR he will ever have). They finally got Fraction Jackson and Maclin, but then showed him the door.

McNabb didn’t know about tie games. Clearly the man is behind. He probably thought Rice was still there when he agreed to join the Vikings. I joke, but the guy will need more than Percy Harvin.

Maybe my guy Kyle Rudolph will help out. Maybe.

Roy Williams will be dropping balls like dogs at a vet office on neuter day. Cutler is another Sallie who quits, and I don’t care who Mike Martz is, the only speed guy at WR has is Knox, and he can’t carry the team. Bears take a HUGE step back this year.
