holmes is talented and CLUTCH. that’s why he keeps making big plays in big moments. ultimately a much bigger value than other ‘munchkins’.
that doesn’t have to translate into knocking edwards who was an excellent #2 receiver last year. his signing would wait AT LEAST until after the namdi thing ran its course. now we’ll find out if they want him or not. on the field talent might not be the only factor

i agree. the level of hate for ny in general and the jets in particular is sometines startling. i wonder what the lives of these small minded little people must be like. but identifying their team would help ‘keep it real’

Why do people think the jets are worse than last year, they lost brad smith and Braylon Edwards, I guarantee the jets will make a deep run in the playoffs again stop hatin.

The problem with PFT is that posters’names usually don’t indicate the TEAM they are a fan of. It would be better if PFT required posters to choose their favorite team when they register, and that team logo is displayed next to their name in their posts. The ‘haters’ purpose would be more easily revealed.

My intuition tells me he’s a low quality POS as human being. My guess is that he really sucks as a teammate, people don’t like him and even though he has athletic talent, the negatives outweigh the positives.

You can guys can bash Edwards all you want but I feel bad for him. He had a huge impact on their offense, catching for more than 900 yards as a number 2. Not to mention he made some clutch grabs for them, including vs. my Dolphins, vs. the Texans, and most importantly, vs the Colts in the playoffs to get into field goal range.

Sanchez is going to suffer this season without him. The Jets think that Randy Moss will be a cheap answer but once he sees how bad Sanchez is he will probably go back to his old ways and I don’t blame him.

Edwards was mistreated and I hope he comes play No.2 for us in Miami but I think he would do wonders for either the Vikings or the Bears and their pass-happy offense.

Good luck, Braylon. One of the few Jets I actually liked.

It’s been transparent since the day he hired that carnival barker for a coach that Woody Johnson is more about selling PSLs than seriously competing for a championship. To his credit Rex fields a good defense, but all the bravado is aimed at one thing only — calling attention to team in a market where it remains in the Giants’ shadow. Rather than work on building a solid foundation (slow & boring), Woody has been trying to load up on “name” free agents for instant results. Three years in it’s already starting to unravel, and thousands of PSLs remain unsold. Nnamdi would’ve been overkill at the expense of other positions and overall team depth. The Eagles saved Woody, Tanny and Rex from themselves this time. What about next time? They are, indeed, the New Jersey Green Beans.

Now that the eagles have their 3 great CBs, Dallas could use this guy. They have Austin and Dez at WR, other than that, no one.

Either Edwards or Randy Moss (yeah, I said it) would make things even; 3 good receivers vs. three good CBs.

Lol @ the guy who suggested Edwards join the Bears. If that happened, the Lions secondary could probably catch more passes from Jay Cutler than Edwards and Roy Williams combined.

Braylon had a tough year with drops after his breakout year in 07(where everyone seems to forget all of his spectacular catches) and made some mistakes off the field.. but I still dont understand why everyone wants to throw him under the bus.. the fact is he is an elite talent with great natural abilities who towers over holmes and can jump over any defender.. on more than one occasion he prevented a poor sanchez ball from being intercepted, many times worked hard to get open only to have sanchez force the ball unsuccessfully to holmes.. and never complained about not being used as much as he deserved to the whole season. I just ask that all of the fans that are so quick to say “he sucks” will open there eyes, if not to see what he already proved last year or in the phenomenal 07 season even with derek anderson throwing to him, but when this year is over and he outperforms holmes.. even if its on another team, admit it. Just admit you were wrong just as the Jets are with how they handled there receiver situation. Everyone was so quick to say that the jets needed to sign holmes and screw edwards, why? because of a steeler superbowl catch that everyone has imprinted in there thick skulls? Somehow one catch and a decent season classified him as a top10 receiver yet the steelers were willing to let him go..forget that holmes has never had a season close to edwards 16TD 07 season, not close, and he had rothlesberger, not anderson! and still it was an easy choice to make for the jets? Sanchez can be affective but without smith and edwards.. good luck buddy hitting your one short target all season

also, so far the jets have lost brad smith and drew freaking coleman. hardly, losing talent left and right like you all like to believe.

Tunescribe, you are right about one thing….Woody Johnson IS the owner of the Jets, and they did pursue Nnamdi. The rest of your post is laughingly mistaken. I think it would be cool to see Braylon Edwards or Malcom Floyd. Personally i think Malcom fits the bill for our needs. Whatever happens we need a #1 WR for Donovan.
