Getty ImagesLast night (actually, early this morning), I characterized Texans defensive end J.J. Watt as a first-round holdout. He’s not, because the Texans are one of the two teams that had not yet reported to camp.
And we’re told that Watt won’t be. Per a source with knowledge of the discussions, Watt is expected to agree to terms today.
Watt’s story is a compelling one. Giving up a scholarship at Central Michigan after spending a year there playing tight end, he walked on at Wisconsin, earned a scholarship within a year, and ended up being the 11th overall pick in the draft.

Beat of luck JJ. Give ‘em hell!!
Guy’s a beast. Glad he’s not playing in the North. And Dallas passed him over.
and screwed the guy who got him out of Central and into Wisconsin. JJ went Hollywood–sad to see
JJ WATT!!! I love JJ watt…He’s a beast and down to earth guy…Not to mention he’ll work his butt off on the field…I almost bought a texans watt jersey even though i don’t care for them

Are You kidding me? Read his interviews on how he still has a special place for CMU… I don’t blame the guy for wanting to get out of a non BCS conference and get some exposure. Do you really think he would be a top 10 pick f he went to CMU? The dude walked on into one of the best big 10 schools and not only earned a scholarship but became a top 10 player..

“overrated like clay matthews”
dude has 23.5 sacks in his first two regular seasons… alittle more than James Harrison and Julius Peppers…
plus the 4.5 sacks in the playoffs…
yea’…totally overrated.
I hope he ends up being as overrated as Clay
Staying at CMU didn’t hurt Joe Staley’s stock — he was still a first rounder.
