Last night (actually, early this morning), I characterized Texans defensive end J.J. Watt as a first-round holdout. He’s not, because the Texans are one of the two teams that had not yet reported to camp.
And we’re told that Watt won’t be. Per a source with knowledge of the discussions, Watt is expected to agree to terms today.
Watt’s story is a compelling one. Giving up a scholarship at Central Michigan after spending a year there playing tight end, he walked on at Wisconsin, earned a scholarship within a year, and ended up being the 11th overall pick in the draft.
