Houston missed so many pick-sixes it wasn’t funny…in-fact, it got frustrating. He’s solid, but he’s never going to be a “spark”.

I like what we have done with our LB’s, we should definatley be more physical at that position . I worry about the run with our corners but agree that with our D-line they should be fine in the pass. The key to the Lions being a top ten D is the offense. We have to move the chains buy completing passes, running for tough yardage, and controlling the clock. If we can keep this D fresh the other teams in the NFL better watch out!

How many more we need, seriously? Houston, Wright, Smith, Berry and Vasher…I’m beyond confident with that depth with our DLine. You heard it here 1st, Top 5 Run defense, Top 10 Pass defense, Top 10 Total defense…you write that down, tuck it away and break it back out in January

To everyone who is talking about how the Lions’ secondary is still too weak:

1) EVERY team could stand to improve their secondary….except maybe the friggin’ Eagles.

2) The main thing you need to remember is that Levy and Tulloch are both very good in coverage. So even though it doesn’t seem like it, the signing of Stephen Tulloch actually helps Detroit’s pass defense a little, too.

Lions fans, don’t sweat the trash talkers too much. It’s obvious to non biased outsiders that the Lions are definitely on their way up. Making the right moves, drafting well, and very competitive. I feel the future is very bright in Detroit.

All I have to any lions fans who complain about the CB’s is: We were 0 and freaking 16 just 2 years ago! I love what the Leos have done so far, knowing that you can’t have 22 pro-bowlers on one team.

C’mon Lions fans, chill a bit. At least we’re now a legit NFL team … in 2 years!

Re-signing Houston was mandatory. Wright, Houston, and Alfonso Smith should be a solid corner rotation, average at the very least. Tulloch and Durant along with Levy make a strong linebacking corps. I would say above average. And I don’t even have to mention the d-line. A top ten defense is definitely reasonable expectation. The line will cause alot of forced fumbles and bad throws, which should lead to a good # of interceptions. 10 wins easy if Stafford stays healthy. That’s a big IF.

There is not a team in the NFL that is licking their chops to play Detroit. Detroit is the Dark Horse. Last year with their “leaky mess”, they won 6 games and lost 6 other games by 5 points or less.

Bears +4 (CJ No Catch rule)
Eagles +3 (
Packers +2
Jets +3 (OT)
Bills +2
Bears +4 (Suh Hit gives 1st and Goal)

Giants +7

Oh, and they played these games with a 2nd or 3rd string QB. They added some serious talent again this year in the draft and vets via FA. Watch for the name “Aaron Berry” this year in Lions backfield. The lions weren’t pushovers last year, and no one but an idiot would think they will be easy to beat this year.

Say what ya want!!! After being a fan of this team for as long as I have, the future is honestly looking better than it has in a looonnnngggg time! All the moves they made we’re really smart short term deals that wont hurt us down the road. Big free agents with injury histories used to get long term deals here & then live up to the injury history, not their contract! It’s a good deal for the players too, because if they do turn out to be the same ol’ lions, then they can jet & not ruin their careers! Yes, we’ve sadly seen it happen here in the D.
If you’re coming on here to talk crap about ‘em I can’t really blame ya….I’ve been a fan all along & watched ‘em while in the cheap seats & on T.V…..so I get it. But from where I’m sitting I’d say I’d hope to watch the lions against your team!

Top 10 defense is very possible.. With the front 4 that we have in place, QBs won’t have much time at all.. I can tell you that.. Not to mention when we line up against mediocre offensive lines, the opposing QB will be running for his life half time.. We won’t need top end corners to succeed .. I think the lions defense will be just fine

I wouldn’t say Lions’ fans “Dreamed” of Nnamdi, we knew that wasn’t happening. We did dream though, of Jonathan Joseph & Stephen Tulloch….and half that dream came true. So with the resigning of Houston, I would say the Lions did a great job this off-season. Not to mention getting Eric Wright with an opportunity to resurrect his career. GO LIONS!

I’d take that defense any day of the week!!!! Good Lord, I can’t wait until the end of the season!!!!

Mayhew has really been making some smart moves since be hired.

Joseph would’ve been nice but Detroit would have to vastly overpay and hope Asomugha landed in Houston.

Houston is a guy the Bungles should have signed instead of a washed up Clements.
