Let me guess … another juvenile and completely uniformed reference to steroid use by the 70s Steelers. Well, darlin’, it’s not baseball. It’s football and the use of steroids by football players was legal in the 1970s. They were in widespread use throughout the league from the late 1960s until they were banned in the late 1980s.

A couple of Steelers on the offensive line during that period have admitted using them, but so have players from many other teams. But since anyone could use them, it was an even playing field; the Steelers did not cheat nor have an unfair advantage. In fact, steroids were banned in large part because of a campaign by former Browns/Broncos/Raiders player Lyle Alzado and his concerns for the health and safety of players. The league had to be pushed to implement the ban.

But thanks for sharing your ignorance of the subject … and of football history.
