This guy is not name-brand (yet,) but he scrapped for positive yardage everytime he touched the ball. You just had confidence that he would convert on short yardage situations.

Good news on Kuhn – he’s one guy who will actually earn every dollar the Pack are paying him, and then some.

The backfield looks crowded, with Grant returning and Starks and a 3rd round pick. However, Kuhns biggest value is that he was supposed to be a Full-Back and showed talent at the RB position when injuries forced him to out there last season. Given that the Packers just lost a vet full-back this week, Kuhn signing made perfect sense. He will will be able to play the roll of Fullback as needed, but teams will still have to respect the fact that he can carry the ball after what he did last year. Should make some formations a bit harder to defend.

He can do everything, but I’m not sold on his run blocking ability. Maybe it was just Brandon Jackson thing. Hopefully he or Quinn Johnson can lead block this team into a Top 10 rushing yards ranking this year.

im a packers fan 4 life. i hope the pack and eagles have epic battles like the niners and cowgirls in the 90′s. i live in eagle country and like the eagles. but packers have been my team forever. we need nothing except a back up LB. I think eric walden will win the other olb position. go pack go!!!!! and i 2nd the lofa tatopu vote. lets bring him aboard!

Kuhn’s a good player. Not only does he play FB but he’s a contributor on special teams and we’ve seen him line up at TE and LB. Guy’s just a great player – not spectacular at any one position but a guy you put out there and let him play to see what happens.

He personifies what the Mike McCarthy Packers are. Blue collar, hard working players who will do whatever it takes to help the team win.

Kuhn is effective in pass/run blocking, catching the ball out of the backfield, running on short yardage downs, and he is deadly in the red zone. He is an all-around player and like I said, he represents McCarthy’s team first approach perfectly.

I’ve always liked Kuhn and I’m glad to see that he’s getting a payday. He’s a real throwback player. The Packers can ask him to do anything and he’ll give it a go-and probabaly do a passable job at whatever it is he was asked to do.
In my opinion if you could build a team with 30 John Kuhn’s on it, you’d win the Superbowl 4 out of every 5 years.
