Only days after dropping Deuce Lutui, who failed a physical for being even more obese and out of shape than Andre Smith, the Bengals signed someone else to provide some help on the offensive line.

Veteran guard Max Jean-Gilles has joined the Bengals, according to John Clayton of ESPN.

Per Clayton, it’s a one-year, $1.15 million contract.

Jean-Gilles spent five seasons in Philly. He started 10 games in 2010, and 10 games in 2008.

He’s the latest veteran to join the Bengals on a one-year deal. Other new arrivals include cornerback Nate Clements and linebacker Manny Lawson.
