Broncos pick up Ty Warren

Ty Warren, Vince Wilfork AP

For the second straight year, the Broncos are giving a recently released Patriots defensive lineman good money.

Denver just hopes Ty Warren makes the team, unlike Jarvis Green last year.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports Warren agreed to terms on a two-year, $10 million contract.  $2.5 million is guaranteed.  (It’s unclear if that’s Warren’s entire first year sum.)

While Warren struggled to stay healthy recently for the Patriots, he was one of the most unsung players for New England over the last decade. His play didn’t decline much when he was on the field.

The Broncos badly needed to add numbers to their defensive line, and they have done it in bulk in recent days with Warren, Marcus Thomas, Brodick Bunkley, and Derrick Harvey.

Well there is some good news. Hopefully his hip is healed. He was a stud when healthy.

Great pick-up, will add competition and depth the the D-line. Watch the Broncos work the waiver wire in a couple of weeks. I love the patience that Elway and Xanders are showing here. They haven’t overpaid fo anyone.

    who cares

they fumbled the QB situation , thanks to Elway

besides there 2 SB’s were salary cap cheated – google it

so really they dont have 1 legit ring

and shanny is great coach, rex and john beck at the helm – great call

watch mcnabb ball out with the vikes

Denver is dang if they do or dont , the fans love Tebow, but Orton is better and has shown it

the team believes in Orton but the fans want Tebow, what do you do?

week 1 MNF Raiders will put up 70 , like they almost did in the 59-14 game in denver last year

they dont want any part of the Raiders- believe that

    thumbs down it Denver

    Raiders on one.

I am glad the Bronco’s picked him up, as a Patriot Fan I was concerned he would go to a contender.

Ty, you were a big contributer to the Pat’s sucess, we will miss you on & off the field.

PS: Now you will have more time in the off season to take care of that Cattle Ranch you have in Texas.

  6. mmmpieyummy says: Aug 2, 2011 11:28 PM

Uhh, excuse me? So you sign an overrated fat ass 3-4 NT to play in a 4-3…hahaha. Gotta love Denver, can’t get nothing right.

Another idiotic signing by horseface…now just trade Orton so we can truly see the complete demise of a once delusional franchise.

59-14 is almost the same score Da Raidas got dropped on them by the Bucs in the SB back in 2002. The one and only relevant SB Da Raidas have ever been in.

PS Raida Fan, every team cheats, hell, you guys invented it. “Stickem” anyone?

    _______________

i’ll use you for target practice…

the bucs coach was gruden, the same coach who coached the Raiders the previous 3 seasons, it was his system his team. Gruden playing the Raiders in the ’02 SB is like taking an exam on your life story, pretty hard to flunk that.

Didnt elway go like 0-3 in SBs, 55-10 to the 9ers, and 42-10 to the skins…

and how is that the ONLY RELEVANT SB – I guess playing that joe gibbs team with the #1 rated offense in 84 doesnt count then? Gibbs punished you all , so what r u trying to say? I also guess Maddens SB vs the Vikes and Fran doesnt count either or Vermeils Eagles , thats not relevant…right.

Denver cheated its proven. They dodged Randy Moss, Cunningham and the 15-1 Vikes when Gary ANderson missed the kick. You all played a bum Falcons team with chris chandler, great. The Favre SB win – ok I give you credit, but still, you tell me how you get away with the salary cap…

59-14 Bucs Raiders? no no, more like 55-10 9ers over Broncos and 42-10 skins over Broncos – thats more like it, do your homework before you come to me with your nonsense

and oh yeah Raiders also played the Packers in a SB back in the day, ok we lost, but thats not relevant either, 5 trips and 1 SB in 2002 is the only relevant…right

    stick’em haha – thats all u got?

every team cheats? – ummm, I dont think every team cheats the salary cap buddy.

Raiders own all time series vs Denver

how could you even speak after the 59-14 game, seriously, Tom Cable started running the ball the rest of the game in the middle of the 3rd qtr,

why dont you google Bill Belicheck Tom Jackson F U…

Broncos soft, ya’ll are whack and so is the state of colorado

  9. pftrumors says: Aug 3, 2011 12:20 AM

    Derrick Harvey?

    Ha, good choice.

    59-14 hurt, didnt it?

    RAIDER NATION!!!!!

  12. jacksaysfu says: Aug 3, 2011 1:05 AM

Not sure the raiders are capable doing that anymore. They lost their best CB and stud TE. That D won’t be getting off the field like they used too.

  13. gimmeabruschi says: Aug 3, 2011 1:11 AM

You won’t see me lavishing praise on BB for his team building skills, but he does know when somebody just isn’t worth it anymore.

When will these guys learn that when Hoodie is done with somebody they aren’t worth much?

    @ hanktheking there is a difference between 59-14 compared to 48-21 !

randysavage4ever–you really sound like you believe the diatribe you post–that’s sad. Just plain sad. I realize being a fan of Dead Al’s team is rough–but you need to butch up a bit. Keep your head up, you might get one win this year.

You gotta love it when these semi-literate raiders fans start spouting off about cheating. How ironic! Can you say “The Holy Roller.” Saying that denver’s 2 rings are illegitimate because the some accountant in the front office got creative with the cap is like saying that Auburn isn’t the national champion because Cam Newton’s dad tried to pimp out his own kid. Championships are won on the field by players. As Ray Lewis would say…. “this is a man’s game!” If you want to cry about rules and procedures go watch golf.

    ——————————–

What depth? They even cut the guys who gave up 59 points to the Raiders. Derrick Harvey is not depth.

They haven’t overpaid for anyone? How about a 29 year-old running back past his prime named Willis McGahee?

Also, I’m surprised the found the time to sign Warren. How do they find the time in between drafting needless linebackers and signing random tight ends in free agency.

Where are all the Bronco fans complaining about being the Patriots West now?

Or should they complain about being the Panthers West, seeing how Fox is signing a lot of his old guys as well.

Just give it another losing season for the pot to meet the kettle.

  21. bluvayner says: Aug 3, 2011 8:40 AM

Good guy, used to be a good player, but damaged goods. Broncos shouldn’t have guaranteed anything. Way too much money at this point.

    Tebow over Orton?

    You have to be kidding.

“While Warren struggled to stay healthy recently for the Patriots, he was one of the most unsung players for New England over the last decade. His play didn’t decline much when he was on the field.”

For the most part, the team play didn’t decline either when he was off of it. Gerard Warren did a spectacular job last year in Ty’s absence. Both players are steady against the run and we really didn’t see a drop off in any shape or form.

I give Ty Warren some credit though…he was a steady player and seemed to be in the right position more often than not. He kept his mouth shut and just played. I wish him luck (not against the Pats). Glad he watched out for himself by getting his degree and trying to get healthy. I think he learned that lesson from Seymour – don’t take sh*t and watch out for #1 in this business.

I love how all the Raiders fans are trolling on the Broncos posts. Is it because since the lockout has ended, the only reports for your team are people leaving?
Look, I’ll admit the Raiders laid it on the Broncos last year. I’m not going to get defensive about that. I’m also not going to try and stand on the fact that Denver has both won the Superbowl and made the playoffs more recently than the Raiders. Let’s face it. What’s past is past, and standing on that is weak. What’s important is what a team is doing now. I know the Broncos have got some major help at nearly every position, and while we have a bit of an issue at QB, it’s not like I’d take Campbell over either of them. SO… keep on trolling, Raiders fans. My guess is that the only strength your team will have this year is the ability of fans to run their mouth.

  25. vonmillerglasses says: Aug 3, 2011 1:07 PM

Raider fan better hold on to that 59-14 game as long as they can. Its gonna be the only bright spot for their poopy franchise for a long, long time. They mine as well buy their players rings for it

  26. spliffbunker says: Aug 3, 2011 2:18 PM

since Raider Nation has already awarded themselves the Super Bowl off their amazing 8-8 season last year and improved their record to 37-91 since the last one I have one question :

any possibility you might actually sell out a home game this year ?
