Apology accepted. I am sure you will think a bit harder before you type out your disinformation next time.

Here's hoping the Eagles and 'Boys meet in the playoffs again, and that the outcome is the same as the last time they met in the playoffs.

"Yeah I know, I know….They have Jermichael Finley and Ryan Grant back. Great. I put them behind the Eagles, Saints, and Falcons in the NFC (in no particular order)."

It's pretty hard saying a team isn't that good when that same thing rolled through Philadelphia not once but twice last season and pounded Atlanta in the playoffs.

So basically your analogy is pretty much out the window.

chrisvegas,

Let me know when the Front Office can "outmanage" an effective way to a Lombardi Trophy. Then I will congratulate you. Until then, the Eagles have to EARN a SB victory by playing 16 regular season games, winning every playoff game, and then beating the AFC Champ for the honor. 1 in 32 teams do that.

Why is it that certain Eagle fans say it is only the Redskins or Cowboys that can attempt to "buy a championship" but also according to Eagle fans, the Front office is "outmanaging" the other teams? Just because you have more $ to spend doesn't mean you are outmanaging anybody. Landing FA's doesn't mean S**T until you back it up with your play by winning games.

I will believe Philly will win the SB when I see it, and that means it has to translate on the field during the regular season, and in the SB. Prove it is the mantra, and that goes for any team looking to win it all, but since Philly is anointed as the "dream team", all the pressure and expectations are squarely on their shoulders. Let's see how they handle it.

My bad, i forgot the Eagles had to rest their starters when they played the Cowboys the 2nd time and then only lost by 1. The fact that you brought up that game is a fail cause it reminded me of how sad the Cowgirls were last season

Everyone saying the Eagles are buying a championship is ignorant. They have just as much money to spend as anyone else They have not overpaid anyone. They are mostly to 1 year deals or long term deals with pretty much a team option. So they won't be in "salary cap hell." The Eagles are among the best at managing the cap. They also have a stable coach and a pretty balanced core of homegrown talent and players that were coached up to having success in Philly. Now they added some free agents to the team. I'm a little nervous that the high expectations for them are so high that anything other than a Super Bowl win will be seen as failure, but I like their aggressiveness. They have a very good chance at competing for the trophy this year.

One thing I will say is that the Asante Samuel for Patrick Willis rumors are absolute nonsense. There is no way the 49ers will trade probably the best LB in the game in his prime for a 30 year old corner. I love Asante but those who believe in this trade are grossly overestimating his trade value

If the Cowboys are really as good as your copy and paste Google research sessions would have us believe, why did you disappear after about week two of last season just to reappear with a new user name lately?

You have been responding to just about every other post on the Eagles threads that you are trolling but not the ones that call you out the new name bait-and-switch, so I'm really not expecting a reply, just pointing out how lame you are.

Did any of you Philly fans (and that includes bandwagon jumpers) think that maybe it's not the team the rest of us hate so much, but just the arrogant @sswipe fans? Granted there are a few objective and mature Philly fans that can talk football like an adult. But the bulk of what I read on these posts is below the maturity level of a Beavis and Butthead re-run. THAT'S why people will be happy if/when Philly crashes and burns.

Philly's whole attitude (as a town) just makes me sick. I'm from Chicago, and watching the Broad Street bully Chris Pronger take game-winning pucks off the ice after Blackhawk wins in the Stanley Cup Finals just so the Hawks couldn't have them was pathetic. " Wah. We didn't win so I'm gonna take the puck. Wah"

The whole attitude in the town makes me want to retch. You can keep all your scumbag players in every sport. Enjoy your off-season championship. And no, I am not jealous in the least, and I mean that.

It’s a surprising signing because Harris is only 25 years old, well regarded as a top right tackle

——————————————————————–

hahaha what? he’s only started 34 out of a possible 64 games! And he’s 26. Nice research!

----------------------------------------------------
One year contract for a player that made SI's All-Pro team his last full year. Are you going to disappear and change names when THIS season's over as well, Julian?

Melon head...you would have loved Nnamdi on the cowboys at 17 Million a year. Dont hate that he's on the eagles for 12 Million.

Cowboys Payroll at the end of last year $136 Million

Eagles $80 Million

Result...Eagles last second loss to the eventual SB winner in the playoffs

Dallas - nothing to speak of really

My favorite line is "Cant coach em, Poach em" Yes because Andy Reid didnt change Mike Vicks whole career, thats right, he didnt have the best year of his career by far. Oh and the birds didnt coach up McNabb, Kolb, and Feeley and just flat out rob teams for draft picks.

Yes, Trent Cole wasnt a 6th round pick, oh and they didnt draft Lito sheppard (cowboy killa!), Sheldon Brown, Brian Westbrook and Michael Lewis in the same draft. They didnt make Trotter a pro bowler...there are countless other examples..Shady, DJax, maclin, Herremans, Jackson, Hanson, Mikell, Staley.

Come on man..dont be ignorant. The Cowboys have had some good picks as well...but they've also had some terrible ones too.

No doubt the Sheagles will be tough but i love all these Philly fans claiming they have it all won already especially saying they are going to kick the Cowboy's rear.. The boys have beathen them 3 out of 4 the last few seasons including 3 in one season. Money cant buy everything, Vick was the same ol Vick by the end of last season. VY is a joke and quit on his own team. Go ahead Philly faithful think you have it all won before the season starts.

This seems like an odd fit, in all honesty. The Eagles under Andy Reid have always liked the big, physical guys. Ryan Harris is a solid OT, but an undersized guy who is physically maxed out (not going to get bigger), and a better fit for a zone blocking scheme.

Phxheat,

It is every team's intent to win the SB, but some teams attempt it by signing as many high-profile FA players out there (such as Washington). How did it turn out for the 4skins?

You don't win anything in FA except the title of "dream team". There are no SB champs on paper. The press has bought it, the Fans have bought it. The anal-ysts have bought it. Can the Eagles bring it? If they can't, they are just as bad as the 4ksins - trying to win it all by signing big-name guys and making a huge splash and spending lots of cash in FA.

The Eagles have made their moves, now can they win it all? Time will tell, but the history has shown (and I can recall many Eagle fans saying the same thing about the Cowboys) that you cannot buy a championship. You have to earn it.

If the Eagles earn it, I will be the first to congratulate them, but I am saying it right here and right now, it takes a perfect storm, and in the words of Dennis Green - "if you want to crown them, then crown their asses."

When December, January or February comes around, I could be saying (also in the words of Dennis Green) "they are who we thought they were"

Which will it be?
