The Raiders should try and go after him. Teaming Osi up with Seymour would be a sick tandem.
Big Giants fan here. However, Osi is missing something here.

He signed a $41 million contract for 6 years. He got a signon bonus on the front end, but technically the value of his contract is not 6 or 7 million for the next two years (combined) - but $6.83 million per season (or $13.67 million).

You have to take into consideration the signing bonus on the front end.

Giants are brilliant here. I would gladly trade him for a first round pick. However, if he wants to be traded, find someone who is willing to pay him and the Giants. If he can't find anyone - then the Giants can tell him they tried - and he should shut up and play football.

In this thread:

Giants grossly overrating their players.

Take away the Winston Justice turnstile game a few years ago, and Osi has no hype.

Take away Justin Tuck, and Osi has no game.

He's not a bad player - but he's not a 1st round pick. 1st rounders are guys you build your team around.

Osi's "overrated n soft, 3rd best d-line on his team honestly"

Osi Umenyiora wouldn’t make it through training camp with the Cowboys. They have no use for a 260 pound DE and he’s too one-dimensional to play LB.

Yeah, your 23rd ranked defense doesn't need any help.....31st with points allowed, btw :) Thanks for the Sunday night laugh last year when you 'played' in Green Bay.

How exactly did they do him wrong? For not caving in and extending an injury prone loudmouth who has been whining about a new contract multiple years prior to his current contract ending? You don't want to play out the contract? Don't sign it. He signed it, he needs to live with it. He also needs to realize he is not the best lineman on the team.

_______

ha the Cowboys aren't even my team! I was just stating the truth...

and actually its fairly easy to defend Romo, he's got a bunch of years ahead of him, he will break thru eventually for 1 ring

meanwhile Philly you all have to support the devil in Vick , look in his eyes you can still see the evil in them , he just puts on a show because he has to, that he's changed and all that...

he threw a b-day party just last year and had his cousin shot up ,

come on now, philly is worthless

0 superbowls, dallas has 5 .

and i hate the cowboys, matter of fact i dont really like any of the 5 SB teams

but when it comes to cowboys - eagles,

advantage Dallas.

ha the Cowboys aren’t even my team! I was just stating the truth…

and actually its fairly easy to defend Romo, he’s got a bunch of years ahead of him, he will break thru eventually for 1 ring

meanwhile Philly you all have to support the devil in Vick , look in his eyes you can still see the evil in them , he just puts on a show because he has to, that he’s changed and all that…

he threw a b-day party just last year and had his cousin shot up ,

come on now, philly is worthless

0 superbowls, dallas has 5 .

and i hate the cowboys, matter of fact i dont really like any of the 5 SB teams

but when it comes to cowboys – eagles,

advantage Dallas.

If Osi doesn't want to play, send him home and suspend him.

I think the Giants are just hoping that his temper tantrum will end, eventually. But the man signed a contract. No one held a gun to his head and forced him to sign it. He got a lot of guaranteed money up front, too, which he conveniently ignores now.

A man's only as good as his word. If he doesn't want to fulfill his end of the bargain, send him home.

Jared Allen had two DUI's and was one more DUI from being suspended for a year. He's the only RDE who's been more productive than Osi over the past five seasons in terms of sacks, and he was traded from Kansas City to Minnesota for a 1st and two 3rd round picks.

I think it's absurd people are saying Osi is absolutely not worth a 1st round pick... still, I think two 2nd round picks would be more than adequate.

The Cardinals gave up DRC AND a second rounder for a completely unproven/overrated QB!

Only time will tell for sure, but I'll tell you right now; Osi is far more valuable that Kevin (media-made-man) Kolb.

My guess is Osi stays a Giants, or they get a 2nd and a 3rd.
