Asomugha 5 yr $60M (not even highest paid corner, hell not even the highest contract he’s had personally)

By being willing to play EITHER CB or Safety, he gives himself more opportunities to get on the field. Playing time and the resultant tackles and passes defensed numbers are how he will ultimately maintain his market value. A combination DB who get snaps in the nickle and dime is more valuable than a 4th CB who contributes only on special teams.

Note- Deon Grant hasn’t been resigned and neither has Micheal Johnson. So it’s pretty much Rolle, Phillips and Tyler Sash(6th round in 2011)

Funny luckyarmpit says they just play a game for a living. See armpit and anyone else who says ignorant stuff about they make millions for playing a game. Most of you fat outta shape turds think that just cause you play beer league softball you think that it’s on the same level as a professional sport. These people spend more time working out and staying in shape and working on their craft than most of you fat outta shape turds do thinking about you next crispy cream I’m willing to bet 90% of the people who say ignorant stuff like that prob couldn’t even finish a forty yard dash without smoking a cigaret much less do it in 4.5 seconds or lift thirty pounds much less 225 so before you say just a game one you could never do their job but they prob could do yours

Faulty logic. Asking a math teacher to teach history is a closer analogy.

This guy is making a lot of money to play football. The team is asking him to play football on a different section of the field. It’s not like they want him to line up at NT. He should just shut up and play or give up the cushy salary for an entry level job.

What is the difference in salary between a good safety and a decent CB?

The CB makes way more. Pay him like a top CB and I bet he’ll play S.

I’m sure he’s fine with being cut, he could get signed elsewhere easily if he gets cut soon enough…

Guy is 4th on the depth chart at CB..He is not going to have ANY effect on the Giants season whether he plays, Safety, CB or gets traded..Lets not over react here..He needs to just shut up and be glad he has a roster spot after he has been invisible for 2 years..He keeps running his mouth and he’ll be playing CB in the UFL..

Aaron is going to have to compete for the nickel spot against Prince. If I was him I would rather be the back-up safety because the Giants play so much 3 safety with one of them in the box. P.S. Luckyarmpit- you should let your giants flag fly even if they’re 0-16

Given the salary cap, he could be putting himself between a rock and a hard place.

If the Giants decide they’re paying him too much to be the dime corner, behind Thomas, Webster, and Amukamara, and they cut him right before the season starts, he’ll have to take a pretty big pay cut to find another team.

Shut up and play, Aaron. You’re making millions of dollars to work six months a year. Don’t alienate your team and the fans by pulling an Albert Haynesworth.

Then it looks like Ross won’t be playing much this year. As it is, he’s the 4th corner, behind Webster, Thomas, and Prince. Add to that Rolle, Grant, and Phillips already at Safety. How often are you going to see the need for another body in there?

I can’t believe that he’d say something like that… wait, yes I can. He’s just yet another stereotypical overpaid whiny athlete. You have the priviledge to play a game for a living for millions of dollars. I’d think if the head coach told you to run around the field with a chicken on your head, your answer should be, “Yes, Coach!” and just do it, no questions asked.

Thanks, Aaron. You’re just the latest reason why the Giants are going to stink up the NFL, yet again this year. Looks like I’ll be taking my Giants flag down early again.
