Ronnie Brown heads to the Eagles

Getty Images

The “Dream Team” continues to add recognizable names.

The Eagles announced Tuesday they signed running back Ronnie Brown to a one-year contract.  Philadelphia desperately needed a backup running back, and Brown needed a job. It doesn’t hurt the Eagles should be able to showcase his skills.

We think it’s a great fit because Brown’s biggest strength is his versatility.  Andy Reid will know how to use him on passing downs, and Brown has the size to work in short-yardage situations.

We’ll be very curious to see how much money Brown got. It’s quite possible he priced himself out of chances to play more elsewhere before settling for a backup role behind LeSean McCoy.

UPDATE: A league source tells PFT’s Mike Florio Brown got $1 million in base salary, plus a small package of incentives.

  1. Any time I see a headline involving the Eagles signing someone now, I immediately think, “You’ve got to be kidding me.”

  2. ronnie brown got anything left in the tank? he hasn’t done much lately.

would of preferred they bring jerome harrison back but i guess he wanted more money or more playing time.

  3. well glad to see the Eagles are doing something to help the RB situation…now all we need is a new RT and we will be set.

  4. This is pleasing as now the Eagles have another weapon to piss off all the NFC East haters

  5. How in gods name do they still have cap space.. Gunna be hilarious next season when they cut half the team to keep the 3-4 big FA’s they dropped dough on.. What a mess…

  6. This is a great move. I know brown has trouble staying healthy, but he is a great compliment to “Shady”.

  7. This is another good signing for the birds. Brown will be a good solid back-up to mccoy. I can’t believe how aggressive the birds have been

  8. This is sick. If the Eagles do win the Superbowl just think how much worse that makes the Redskins look. They’ve been throwing $$$ at big name free agents for like 10 years now, and have nothing to show for it, not even playoff wins.

“We’re all in.” Doesn’t justify what they’re doing.

    LOVE IT, lets go Eagles.

  9. Smart signing. In a year he’ll get his value up and sign a 4 year deal with the redskins that will pay him three times what he’s worth.

  10. Wow! When are they signing T.O.? They gotta sign someone! DeShaun is still holding out. They seem more concerned with other people than their own.

  11. we’ll all have a front row seat to see how important chemstry really is in the nfl…

  12. I am and will always be a fan of Ronnie Brown. No matter where he goes he’ll always be a Miami Dolphin. Thanks for the great memories!

  13. i thought he was going to denver, he’ll definitely help out our short yardage situation but i think he’s coming off a knee or leg so we’ll see what he’s got after the injury

  14. Good lord. How do they still have available roster spots?

    ————————————————–

new CBA expanded them to 90 for training camps..duh.

I love this move and i honestly thought it would happen. He’s a bigger back for short yardage. No way is he going to have to shoulder the load here in Philly. WELCOME RONNIE.

  15. Cue the moron who keeps saying “if you can’t coach em up, poach em up”. Even though Brown will be the back up to someone who the Eagles “coached up”.

  16. Breakings News:

LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Mike Tyson, Spiderman and the incredible hulk…

has also just signed with the Eagles

Go check out the numbers……. they are still under the cap, and won’t have any “dead money” next year. Next time do some research before you just start posting nonsense.

  20. Hmm. The “Wildcat” possibilities could be really interesting with him and Vick on the field…

Yep, and it almost always never works. The best part is that the team will be handcuffed for the next 5 years after this experiment fails.

Vick, once again, will be the weakest link.

  22. @ace1716

I agree. The differene is, I don’t think the Eagles overpaid for 1 player they have signed. Got great value on all. Unlike Danny Snyder does

  23. I’m really not an Eagles hater but I don’t view their team as THAT stacked. Talented sure but not that mentionable in my list of “dream teams” from the last decade.

  24. It’s going to be great when Michael Vick gets hurt.. and ALL these Philly fans start crying. Vince Young comes in and gets pelted with snow balls… and chokes as usual. All this talent and no solid QB. Can’t wait for the melt down.

  25. this is crazy.. Andy Reid is obsessed with the wild cat.. thats why this happened… i cannot come up with anyother reason.. as an eagles fan im at a loss for words reguarding the offseason.. i never imagined this.. but yeah.. Reid is obsessed with the wildcat

Relax, it’s only frickin Ronnie Brown.

They still have no RT and a rookie RG to protect Vick’s blind side, virtually no experience at LB and SS. Sure it’s another big NAME, but you all need to chill out on the hype.

  27. I’m in no way an Eagles fan, but will people stop “accusing” them of “buying a Super Bowl.” That’s the FO’s job. Eagles fans should be pissed if they aren’t trying to do that.

This is fantastic and certainly the most exciting week of offseason football in a long, long time. I would hate to see it, but I don’t think I’d be surprised to find myself watching a Patriots-Eagles Super Bowl.

All that aside, yea… wow. I am also surprised they have roster and cap space. It’s a little absurd. Great FO.

  28. kurrmudgeon says: Aug 2, 2011 4:47 PM

    I thought everyone knew!

Goodell has eliminated ANY cap for the Eagles in the vain hope that those big bully Eagle fans will stop depantsing him and taking his lunch money.

  29. @ vbe2:

Aren’t they? What else would you call amassing a huge number of free agents on what can only be short-term deals when they will have no choice but to cut them (or a large number of their core team members) within a couple of years? The Eagles are clearly all in this year to win a Super Bowl.

Too bad they didn’t think to check with Dan Snyder to find out if money can buy team chemistry, dedication, and passion for the game of football. These free agents are exploiting the Eagles’ desperate need to compete with Snyder and Jerry Jones in the “who has the biggest bank account” reality show that the NFC East has become.

  31. Well, we expected they’d add one of these veteran backs. Clearly Brown is more of a name than anything at this point, but he should do well playing the old “Correll Buckhalter role” of 3-5 touches a game, fill in if needed, pick up the blitz, etc.

everyday i read a post by some idiot who makes a comment about the eagles and the cap..

for the 20th time.. they still have cap space.. they are the smartest front office in the league in reguards to the cap.. they are always on top of it.. and they still have plenty of money to sign D-Jax and a RT..

get over it.. sorry players dont want to come to your team..

  34. Players are flocking to the Eagles and the Giants can’t keep Osi in camp, gotta love it. Looks like this will not be the year the Giants break the jinx against the Eagles.

  35. Man you guys got to be kidding me. With this guy they will be running the ball all over the place. Which will open up the passing game, and oh yeah, he can catch too. I would be surprised if they don’t go to the SB.

  36. joe banner is a cap master! and its a 1 year deal nothing serious

they havent broken the bank for anybody, i think a lot of these players are buying in to what the eagles are doing and players want to play with mike vick

  37. I see it now… Vick, Ronnie, VY, and Desean on the field. Reid calls a triple reverse to Ronnie who finds Vick running a fly.

Wouldn’t suprise me if this actually happened lol.

  38. This so reminds me of the Jets last season, going out and picking up many of the big name free agents.

They did well and you would expect it with all the money they spent but no Superbowl.

    You can’t buy team chemistry.

  39. Why bother playing the Season??? Eagles already built a case for the Lombardi Trophy. LOL, when has the Free Agency Champs ever won a Title since the Salary Cap??? Never!!!

  40. This is a perfect fit for the Eagles.

I’m sad to see him go. He’s probably my favorite Dolphin of the 2000’s, but it was time for Miami to move on.

    Good luck Ronnie!

  41. @jakek2: The Eagles have had a grand total of one season like the one you mentioned since 1999; that was in 2005 when TO destroyed the team. They had one year( 2007) when they finished 8-8; every other year they were well over .500, and made the playoffs in every one of those years. BTW, they are still under the cap, and will not have to cut anybody important next year, because they don’t make stupid emotional decisions like keeping 30 yr old+ players around at big money who are well past their prime. I’m not always thrilled with how their FO treats people at times ( employees that aren’t even football players); but you can’t can’t argue with the efficiency of the football operation. Yeah, they’re going to have to win the whole thing to get complete respect from us as Eagles fans, but I’ll take my chances with the team that has been in the playoffs 9 of the last 11 years.

    ==================================

Check the numbers and contracts, the Eagles can walk away from almost all of these contracts after 1 year and lose nothing in terms of cap space or flexibility.

They still have some room this year and if they sign Vick to a LT contract they could free up an additional $10 Million or more for THIS year.

  43. Remember when Philly was a hard nosed team that fought the good fight, and used homegrown talent to build (sorta) winners?

Now they are the Redskins/Cowboys mold, chasing names and trying to buy that ring.

I think I will enjoy this disaster as much as I enjoyed watching the Heat fail in the NBA.

    ===========================

Can’t you say that about every team that signs free agents? This is the NFL in 2011. This is how the NFL of today works.

The Cardinals have signed a lot of FA’s, the Giants have signed FA’s, the Patriots have signed FA’s.

Are they trying to “buy” a Super Bowl?

  45. I live in the Philly suburds so I have been an Eagles fan for as long as I can remember. Ever since 08 the Phillies have taken over as the dominate sports team in Philly even though we are considered a football town. I think that this splurge by our front office is a desperate attempt to bring back that excitement back that has been missing for the most part since 04 when we landed T.O. Walking around town all i see is red which is not like it was 5-10 yrs ago.
This whole dream team thing is getting blown a little out of porportion by the media. I don’t consider a dream team to be a team with gaping wholes along the offensive line and young and inexperienced linebackers and safeties. I do think we are top 4 in the NFC and top 8 in the NFL and I am very excited for this season.

  46. Wouldn’t Andy Reid have to commit to a running attack for this move to have any impact whatsoever?

  47. The Eagles are poising themselves not only to win this year, but possibly a five year or more run with these pieces and draft picks in upcoming years.

  48. Kurmudgeon. Stop talking. Your an idiot. Eagles FO Made it abundantly clear that unless djax shows up they wont renegotiate. And when he does Philly still has plenty of money to throw his way..that’s what happens when your 40 million under the cap, have to spend 99% of said cap money, andyour FO is full of mone hoarding GENIUS,’!….BAAAAH

  49. I’ll just say this…..
If they don’t win it all this year it will be an epic failure and Reid will be fired.

  50. Yeah great melonvoxveritas, let’s depend on a rookie.
Hey man, I’m a fan. Believe me, I want them to do well. And I’m hoping Casey can do it. Thought he was 230 though, not 245.

  51. Before you anoint them, just remember that the road to SB XLVI still goes through Green Bay, WI

  52. Eagles fans always have a good offseason. Whether it’s picking up Bobby Taylor one year from the Seahawks, to getting the infamous “freak” Jevan Kearse, to getting Asante Samuel & Vick….And every year they also rank among the top teams in the draft by the so called “experts”.

Where did all that news get the Eagles? Absolutely no where….still don’t have a title.

    Regards,
Disgruntled Giant fan living in Philly who has to listen to this F’n nonsense every day on the frickin radio.

  53. Good signing for the money. He’s still got some gain and v versatile. Wish we’d resigned him if he was that cheap but can’t blame him for wanting a shot at a ring!

  54. “Yess…finally rid of Eldra Buckley. The worst undersized 3rd string Eagles RB since Reno Mahe.”

actually, my biggest concern is that they still have roster spots for special teams demons like Buckley and Colt Anderson….lunch pail guys who are good at covering kicks. Last year their coverage and return units were pretty good, it’s still an important part of the game.

  55. I think this is a great signing because after the 09 season in miami everyone just loaded up and attacked the rbs. No one even worried about the pass, because they didn’t need to. With vick actually developing a passing game, and looking to pass first instead of just running around all the time it will open up the running lanes for his big frame to plow through.

  57. Hater’s can’t read…

They’re signing a lot of these guys to a ONE YEAR deal. If they work out they’ll throw ’em another year or two midseason and get best value from them at another discounted rate.

The Eagles have been one of the best GM’d team and are always in great shape cap-wise, they’re not idiots when it comes to this. It’s not like they’re taking on or signing Haynesworth type contracts.

  58. Upon hearing the news the Packers broke camp and left for their respective homes and Vince Young peed his pants.

  59. GB still looks better on paper (for you fans who believe paper wins Championships) .

The Road to Super Bowl XLVI goes through where ever the NFC Championship game is played.

If that’s in Detroit then it goes through Detroit.

The Packers haven’t won crap in the 2011 season.

  61. I’ll be rooting for the eagles this season and I’m a fins fan…I’m happy to see Ronnie land somewhere decent… he stayed healthy last season and should add another element to an already powerful team…

  62. I’m a life-long Eagles fan. I don’t if all the moves the Eagles have made will result in a Lombardi Trophy or not, but as a fan all you can ask is that the front office give the coaches the tools to succeed, and it’s clear the front office has tried to do just that. I’m proud of my team’s efforts this year. And as far as the haters go, I’m quite sure that, if it was your team being this aggressive, you’d be appauding them as well.

p.s. To everyone who keeps harping on Vince Young’s “dream team” remark: It was nothing more than a new–and very grateful–signee trying to make a good impression on his new team. It’s getting so blown out of proportion. Unlike anyone from the Ryan family tree, Vince Young at no point guaranteed even one victory, much less a Super Bowl victory. Let it go.

  63. With all of this new blood, the “dream team” has 8-8 written all over it, and it’s gonna be one of the funniest crash and burns ever witnessed in NFL history. The Eagles NEVER live up to normal levels of hype, and now the hype is off the freakin’ charts. This should be hysterical!

  64. I’m a Dolphin fan and didn’t really want them to resign him, but for 1 year and that small amount of money, he would have been worth it.

At that price, he’s a steal.

  65. Back up RB was one of the remaining holes in this Eagles’ team. Brown is a capable spot player and a big body for short yardage. So it’s a good signing.

The other big weaknesses are LB, S, and OL/RT.

With the recent signing of OGs Ellis & Watkins, Philly has a plausible plan B for OL, by sliding Herremans from LG to RT and using the new kids and McGlynn inside. (Justice and Dunlap at RT – are just VY/Kafka waiting to happen.)

On D, the Iggs are really taking a huge chance at LB. The let Bradley go and apparently didn’t bid on Tulloch or Barnett, so they must be sold on the kids, including an undersized Casey Matthews at MLB. They are also thin at S and relying on Allen and Marlin to play serious minutes, while coming back from serious injuries.

And IMO, they could have used Plax as a situational red zone guy, Cooper isn’t quite the same. The rest of the WRs are small (DJax), injured (Maclin), or more game than talented (Avant), and Celek at TE ain’t all that.

And there’s a rookie PK. Who knows what he’ll do under pressure?

So while in some respects Philly has done a phenomenal job this week, there are still stress points that could prove crucial. Don’t count the Lombardis before they’re earned….

  66. Cue the moron who keeps saying “if you can’t coach em up, poach em up”. Even though Brown will be the back up to someone who the Eagles “coached up”.

    ————————————————————-

Sorry dude, but the fact is they let every incumbent UFA they had go and signed one as a backup in a sea of free agent starters does not change the fact that they have given up on Andy Reid’s ability to coach them up and have decided to start poaching them up.

Waste of a roster spot, if you ask me. It’s not like the Eagles need running backs in the first place, you know.

  67. melonvoxveritas says: “they are starting this kid Casey Matthews.” Who actually may work out to be the best addition of the year. No jealousy issues, no drinking binges, no history of going berserk and then disappearing, Wonderlic higher than 6.

  68. Damn!! Why all the hate?? To you people that are saying that the Eagles will be “handcuffed” for the next 4 or 5 years: Look at these FAs contracts. Vince Young is on a 1 year deal. Ronnie Brown is on a 1 year deal. Philly can opt ouf of Jenkins contract after 1 year. I think Nnamdi is only guaranteed 2 or 3 years at most. Rodgers-Cromartie is still on his ROOKIE contract. Babin could be gone after 1 year with no cap hits after that. You haters dont even know what you’re talking about. You’re just making yourselves look like stupid.

    =================================

I’d have to say you’re wrong on CB and RB…and RB being as such even before this signing.

  70. Remember back when the Phillies signed Pete Rose to finally get them over the hump, and they finished in fourth place that year (of course, they DID win the World Series the following year)?

With the exception of Vince Young and Ronnie Brown, all the players they added will be here for at least a couple of years (and yes, they WILL resign Vick and rework DJax contract). They’ve put themselves in position to take two dead-serious shots at winning the Super Bowl.

  71. Does everyone whos not an Eagles fan really want to get even more angry. Even with this signing the Eagles who had 38 or mill coming into free agency after letting all the loose change go have only spent up to this point 26 mill. That means they still have 12 mill or so to spend. my guess is 8 of that this year will go to Jackson but the Vick contract when that comes should save them another 6-7 mill from the franchise tag number.

So the Eagles still have even after Jackson and Vick about 10-12 mill to play with. Hopefully that means a OT like Ryan Harris if he is still arround or maybe a trade of Assante

  72. Hey NFC East, I mean NFC Eagles,
    U MAD BRO?
STOP HATING BECAUSE THE EAGLES JUST RUINED YOUR SEASON BEFORE IT EVEN BEGINS.
    HAHAHAHA

  73. For those of you jealous fans who keeps claiming the Eagles will go 8-8, you obviously haven’t been paying attention the last decade. Andy Reid is one of the best coaches in the league and he will get this team deep in the playoffs and maybe a superbowl. Pretty much every year he has a winning year. This isn’t the Redskins and McChoke is no longer the qb and this team is loaded with talent. If they get DeSean signed and playing this year this team can very well win it all.

  74. The cap room has to be really tight now, which does not look good for giving a new contract to the team’s best receiver. If you want to pay the best receiver like a $500K receiver, then expect the play like a $500K receiver and he’ll go somewhere else next year.

  75. As an Eagles fan, I am thrilled with the moves the team has made so far this offseason. The front office said they would make a big splash in free agency and they have certainly delivered. But can we please PLEASE put a stop to this Dream Team nonsense?

Wow, are you an idiot. How can you possibly say that GB has equal CBs to Philly? Or that your OLine is better? Your best RB is coming off a nasty injury and the back-up is a D3 turd who practices like Allen Iverson. Your WRs had almost identical stats to Philly and your TE couldn’t possibly have any more hype. If anything the teams are almost equal with GB winning QB (tiny margin) and LB. Eagles win STs, RB and CB hands down.

Talk about wishful thinking, why don’t you rate John Kuhn as the best fullback ever to play the game too?

Packers Fans have ZERO ability to rationally evaluate other teams.

  77. Sicklife, get you facts straight before you try to flap your gums. Bobby Taylor went from the Eagles to the Seahawks when he was old and couldn’t play anymore. We already had replaced him with Sheldon Brown. If you do not like it here, leave. We won’t miss you.

  78. GRANADAFAN, Let me ask you this. What IS the Eagles cap space? How tight are they? And its not like the Eagles are bringing in som big names just because they are big names. They are all positions that are in need. Last year, the Eagles had the worst redzone defense and gave up a ton of TDs through the air. In fact, I believe their redzone D was the worst in NFL history. So they bring in DRC and Nnamdi. They failed to get pressure on the QB towards the end of the year so they sign Babin and Jenkins. They trade backup QB Kolb to the cards so they sign Vince Young to be the new backup. They need a solid backup RB with some muscle who can help in short yardage situations so they sign Ronnie Brown. Johnny Lee Higgins has proven to be a good kick returner which we need. The Eagles are addressing their biggest weaknesses by signing some of the top FAs at their respective positions and have only been focusing on those positions of need.

  79. You know you’ve made it when the only comment people has is “I can’t wait to he get hurt…”

LOL and as far as cap room is concerned, they will be UNDER the cap this year and UNDER the cap next year. This is how good football organizations are run folks

  80. Dang, how far do you have to go to comment on this: SMH, Eagles are for real…if anyone get hurt, they still have decent backups.
Saints, Eagles, Falcons & Packers…idk about Shytown..this is who I am predicting for the playoffs for the NFC…

  81. Hey idiots!

Ronnie Brown had higher offers from four other teams.

He took Philadelphia’s lower offer anyway.

It must burn you up that Philly’s a more attractive destination for athletes than your cesspool city.

    The question, however, is why?

But a 10-6 division winner that loses no one of consequence and adds the #1 free agent in a position of need plus some nice pieces is going to win three LESS games? C’mon. 87. Re: Cap Space… I gotta figure there is significant room, what with DeSean not signed yet.

Because if they don’t re-sign Jackson, all the rest of this could be (will be) for naught…

(“Dear Lord, please, oh, please let DeSean see the light and sign, let Michael make it thru the Dallas and NY games uninjured, and, just for fun, turn the stress crank up on Dan Snyder just one more notch. Amen.”)

  88. Some of you guys are idiots. Of course they are trying to buy a Super Bowl, THAT’S WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO…. bring in talent and pay for them like every team SHOULD be doing. Haters are hating because their team is either too cheap to sign top talent or didn’t manage the cap well enough to be in position to sign top talent. But let’s look at it like this, over half the starting roster will be players the Eagles drafted or had for a few years already. So it’s a mixture of “coached up” talent and free agents like most teams that eventually win championships.

  89. Something interesting from a Philly.com article:

    — Not everything went the Eagles way last week. Banner was up all night Wednesday trying to negotiate a deal that fell through, only he wouldn’t say what it was. Free agent signing? Trade? Contract extension? All he’d say is that if he even gave us a hint, we’d be able to figure it out. I’m really not sure what it was. But it goes to show two things: 1)they didn’t get everything they wanted and 2)the Eagles really don’t like to have their failures out in the open. After the most successful NFL free agent spree in recent memory – if ever – they still didn’t want to talk about the one that got away.

I love the fact that they are still tryin to make moves. E A G L E S

look at all the scumbag haters wishing for injuries because they know that’s the only thing that can stop the eagles.

51 years of injuries have stopped the Eagles?

Wow, thats heavy. Weak, but heavy…

I take comfort in the fact that as long as Reid is the coach, you scumbags will NEVER know the feeling of seeing your team win a Lombardi, no matter how much money they spend trying to buy one.

  91. I hope there is a close up of Dom Caper’s face when the Eagles put Vick, Young, Shady, Ronnie, Desean, and Maclin all on the field at the same time.

THAT’S RIGHT….the Eagles won’t play GB because the Bears are winning the central.

GB still looks better on paper (for you fans who believe paper wins Championships) .

QB, WR, TE, O line, LB’rs, Sftys… advantage GB.

    CB, RB, D line… equal

    Spcl teams… advantage PH

& you have to beat the Champs on the field.

    ————————————————–

Are you kidding me with the WR’s???? Who does GB have???? Donald Driver! James Jones! Jordy Nelson!!! Get the fack outta here with that nonsense. Stop being a homer.

  93. If the Eagles want a dancer in the backfield, you got it!
Im not happy with R. Bush either..

    =======================

    are YOU kidding?
Jennings, Driver, Nelson, Jones, Finley? arguably the best receiving corps in the league.

  96. @polishrod

If you really don’t think Williams & Woodson are = to 2 guys who’s names I can’t spell that are both on a new team & have never played together you are the true idiot. Not even to mention the O-line comment which many PH fans know is a weak spot.

& our D3 RB is wearing a ring that he earned whoppin up 123 yrds on your Eagles.

Everyone at NFL Live on ESPN agrees PH doesn’t come close to matching up with GB.

  97. To polishrod and Nfldaddy. The Eagles are better on paper. The Packers are better on the field. P-rod Rodgers vs Vick. Did you watch the playoffs. The Eagles lost at home to a wildcard team.

  98. 1MGE, are you kidding me? You and ESPN think Philly doesnt come close to GB? Wow, keep in mind that you barely beat us even with our secondary giving up a ton of TDs and having the worst redzone defense in history. We no longer have that same secondary. And whats so great about your O-line? Hasnt Rodgers been pounded over the past few seasons? Yeah, you guys have the title, but its not like you guys are ahead of the rest of the league. And Greg Jennings is a beast, but the rest of your WRs would NOT start over Desean and Jeremy Maclin.

  99. I know this has been talked about to death, but it’s not like the Eagles are going out and giving 10mil guaranteed to Antwan Randle-El. Or $100 mil to a surly fat guy and trying to change his position. Or trading a whole draft for a crappy WR and giving him an extension on top of it. All of these are positions of need and all affordable.

  100. Ol’ Glass Leg over here… Hope he stays healthy. Honestly didn’t care to have him back in Miami. He started hesitating way too much and missing gaps in the O-line. Ricky looked like the better back last season.

  101. If familiar names won championships the Eagles are the front runners, but as we have learned from watching teams like the Miami Heat and New York Yankees. That is not the case.

  102. Nice signing. If Ronnie Brown can regain any of his old form, this could be the first true rushing attack they’ve had in a while, assuming Andy actually calls any run plays.

  103. 1mge says: Aug 2, 2011 8:00 PM

    @nfldaddy

I guess you never heard of Greg Jennings or did you just bench him? Get a clue before you type!

    —————————————————–
    Greg Jennings?!?!?! Really?

He has 1 good year so now we are supposed to be afraid of him? He’s played 5 years, and last year was his best year. Stop it. You’re a joke.

I can’t wait for GB to fail so that this nonsense stops. The bottom line is, GB is too cheap to make a big signing. It has nothing to do with “how great they draft”. Move to a real city.

The team that gets hot at the right time is the team that wins the Super Bowl 9 times out of 10. If GB were so great, especially with their “next man up” philosophy, why couldn’t they win their division? Why were they 10-6?

Good luck trying to catch lightening in a bottle twice with those overachievers.

Did you ever noticed that the team that just won the Super Bowl is always a favorite the following year? Yet rarely do teams repeat. HMMMMM……

    DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE

I liked GB better the first time when they were called the 2007 NY Giants.

  104. eaeolian says:
Hmm. The “Wildcat” possibilities could be really interesting with him and Vick on the field…

The wildcat? Really? You think that tired gimmick of a play is going to fool defenses often enough to take you to the Superbowl?
