Thats pretty original, Al is old and living in the wrong century! Man you are genius! Come with something better than that next time, maybe a fact or two or something better than over the cap. He will find a way to get under cap, he does every year! I'm with you that he should take a step back or look into a GM, but there is 20 teams that would love to say they went to the super bowl in the last 10 years and actually won one in their history! At least he spends money, which can't be said for so many owners in the league that its ridiculous

How many Super Bowls have the Pats won since the Seymour trade? HMMM not many how about zero! For a team that gets hands on their jock as much as they get they haven't won one since 2004! Talk about living in the past! I know they are favored to win it every year & totally collapse and lose to the Jets most of the time, but really lose the attitude. You've become the Raiders of the 21st century, signing malcontents that amount to no championships, except odds to win the Super Bowl every year.

Just so you know, if the tuck rule never happened, you would be as mediocre as the Eagles haha, never winning anything, but competing, thats a nice life!!! Drew Bledsoe would probably be your starting qb still & Tom Brady would be a back up for the Kansas City Chiefs

If my memory serves me, the Cowboys draft slot was prior to the ‘Skins in the 2011 NFL draft. Hmmmm, doesn’t sound like the Cowboys were better to me.

The Cowboys finished higher than the Redskins in the standings by virtue of division record (Cowboys were 3-3, Redskins were 2-4). The Cowboys slotted higher than the Redskins in the draft because the *only* tiebreaker as far as the draft is concerned is strength of schedule.
Hilarious…the eagles are STILL UNDER the cap, but yet the Cowboys and other are over…so who is trying to buy a super bowl?

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Still the Eagles. They aren't very good at developing players so they got under the cap by cutting a bunch of players that they have not been able to develop. That freed up a lot of salary cap room for them. Now they are using that cap room to sign free agents that have been developed by other teams in the hope that ready-made talent can overcome crappy coaching and player development. Hence the term, "can't coach 'em up, poach 'em up".

bigbirdsfan,

Wow. A rare Eagle fan with a level head and a post with some intelligence - the post at 4:52 pm is what I am referring to. Good to see there are some smart Eagle fans out there trying to balance out the multitude of the opposite type.

Now, as far as your post at 5:28 pm, wouldn't you agree the SB is always the goal, and if you don't win it, the season just isn't complete, regardless of the team? So saying the Eagles have been "better" in the last decade is referring to regular season wins. Would you agree the Cowboys have been better at winning SB's? If you look at the all-time Cowboys/Eagles record including the playoffs, the Cowboys still lead 59-45 games. Is that argument valid? You see, arguments are subjective. It all depends on what you want to focus on and point out. Eagle fans like to point out 1997 to present for their arguments against the Cowboys. The Cowboy fans will point out the early 90's and the Zero SB wins for the Eagles. Who is more correct? That is why I always go back to the ultimate in this league. The SB wins.

Whether it is 1970, or 2010. If you have a SB win in your legacy, you have the right to bring up your legacy. If not, you really have little platform. There is no second place in the NFL. Do the Bills have any right to talk about winning 4 AFC Championship games in a row? Of course, but what are they ultimately remembered for? Losing 4 SB's in a row, because winning a SB is the pinnacle.

So saying the Eagles have been “better” in the last decade is referring to regular season wins. Would you agree the Cowboys have been better at winning SB’s? If you look at the all-time Cowboys/Eagles record including the playoffs, the Cowboys still lead 59-45 games. Is that argument valid? You see, arguments are subjective. It all depends on what you want to focus on and point out. Eagle fans like to point out 1997 to present for their arguments against the Cowboys. The Cowboy fans will point out the early 90′s and the Zero SB wins for the Eagles.

Losing 4 SB’s in a row, because winning a SB is the pinnacle.

They remedied the cornerback problem, the kept newman so vick can throw the ball to jackson and anybody else for that matter who is running by him like he is standing in cement.

Sounds like a remedy to me!

Dallas and Washington are at least 3 years away from doing anything substantial due to past bad moves. I know because I used to watch the Eagles do the same dumb things for 3 decades.

It will pass...and so will every team on the cowboys!!! yee haaaaa

Perfect example on why the NFL needed a rookie salary cap. Panthers, Lions, Raiders, Texans...these teams for the most part are the cellar teams. They have had so many high draft picks over the last few years and had to pay these unproven players way more than they're worth. The Cowboys are wasy to understand, they overpay all the time and still don't win. The Vikings are in the same boat as the Cowboys. The Steelers though are the only team that has a legit reason to be on this list. I can understand the Steelers having a high salary cap figure, they win!

Owners need to realize that most of these players aren't worth what they're paid. None of them are so important that they can't be replaced.

Jordan is stil the best basketball player to every step on the court. What happened when he retired? Nothing....They kept playing basketball.

The owners need to stop with all the bad contracts and build with the draft now. At least now you can watch a guy play for four years before you decide to give him a big contract.

A Cowgirl fan bragging about another meaningless Dallas game at the end of the year really? REALLY????? Has your 6-3 record gotten you further when it counts....ummmm no that's right it hasn't!

At least you speak in terms that aren't 20 years old like back when your team was good. I know it angers you that the Eagles have been consistantly better than your team for the past decade (maybe longer), but face it with your plastic face owner you have no shot at winning another one.

I can say however it would be nice to have at least one in any decade. I can keep it real...

I am an eagle fan but also a football fan. At least the Steelers have won this century. Let's call it like it is, Eagle, Cowboy and Steeler fans are very passionate and will pounce on the other any chance they get because of the competitive nature of these cities. Blue collar cities (moreso Pittsburgh and Philly) work hard and play hard. The Eagles are the best team on paper (if you doubt that you may need your head examined) but it means nothing if they do not bring it to the field. As for the Steelers being over the cap, restructured deals or not, you are going to have to cut some people that are valuable. The cowboys of the 3 have the worst ownership and will not win again because Jerry Jones knows nothing about football. Had he been able to keep Jimmy Johnson a few more years, there would have been a few more super bowl parades in Dallas.

zeussuperman,

Somebody talking about their legacy of SB wins is akin to calling someone a Nazi during an argument? What an IGNORANT and ridiculous statement

There is no default "win" in an argument for a fan whose team has never won a SB. Are those teams with SB winning Legacies never allowed to upset the very fragile egos of the Eagle fans (who don't have a SB winning team in their trophy cases) by bringing up THEIR SB winning history? Since when do you get to write the rules of who can and cannot mention a SB victory, and how long before a SB trophy becomes null and void?

Poor Eagle fans. They don't have a SB victory to their names, and we are supposed to keep quiet as to not hurt their Egos, or be accused of calling them a Nazi since we have a legacy of SB wins (that isn't supposed to be mentioned because they are "ancient"). A SB win is a SB win. If your team had one, then you would understand.

Are you telling me that you, as an Eagle fan, wouldn't be allowed to bring up the SB against the Raiders following the 1980 season had you won it? OF COURSE you would bring it up, because once you win a SB, it can never be taken away from the team or those players. It is in the books. It is part of the legacy. You just don't know how it feels to be a fan of a SB winning team, so you invent scenarios like a Cowboy or a Skins fan calling you a Nazi during an argument if they bring up a SB, whether it be from this decade or not.

Does your weak argument also apply to the Buffalo Bill fans?

It is real simple - WIN ONE, or continue being a butt-hurt Eagle fan who can't handle it when a SB victory is brought up. .

you should also note that the cowboys havent been successful since free agency and a salary cap were first started and now no team can “buy” a superbowl again…but thats ok..live on past glory

————————————-

You’re right. The Cowboys DID NOT sign Charles Haley and Deion Sanders on the way to winning 3 SBs in 4 years.
