What was the injury situation the year before? Were there 15 IR’ed players when the Cardinals torched the Pack in the first round of the playoffs?

Also, if GB didn’t have an *interest* in Nnamdi Asomugha, everyone in your FO should be immediately fired. Not being able to get him/not really needing him and not being interested are two totally different things.

Over 30, often injured and looking to get paid. He’s missed games due to injury every year in the league but one.

Don’t forget about Tommy McD, Brookshier, and Chuck Bednarik. Andy is gonna make real magic happen to get ‘ol Chuck “up and running.”

And, it would be great if the Giants brought back Gifford to face him.

Maybe maybe not. But I’m willing to guess that guys looking for a place to play would also love to play for Green Bay – IF they were looking.

Just because Philly signs player X doesn’t mean that player X chose Philly over all else. If the a team like the Packers made a run at some of these FA’s – don’t you think they’d garner a touch more interest with some of these guys?

Philly’s adding 15 guys to try and win a SB, Green Bay LOST 15 guys (via IR) last year and won a SB. They’re simply not shopping and don’t for a second believe that if GB wanted Nnamdi, or some of these other FA’s they wouldn’t have recipricated that interest.

You’re not the choice destination you think you are – you ARE the choice destination of teams needing a ton of help to “get over the hump” but those guys weren’t the choice of teams that are already there.

With that being said, after all these moves, and now with this “Dream Team” moniker started (kind of reminds me of “Gold Standard”!), IF they don’t at least get to the Super Bowl this year, the fans may burn the town down. And they would probably be justified. The pressure seems to be on the Eagles’ players and coaches to either get the job done or face the consequences from both top management and fans.

Vick is on for like 16M. they can reduce that this year with a longterm contract. lets say… 10M with 30 guarantee. that leaves 6m this year for him.

He needs to go work with the team and relax. His time will come.

DRC–mental mistakes, gave up too many big plays so AZ did not hesitate to ship him off. Babin is a journeyman with one good year, Brown is injury prone and about to be a 30 year old RB.

No. The Rams under George Allen, Chuck Knox, and others won the division like every year, won 10-12 games in a 14 game schedule every year, and then choked against the Vikings and Cowboys when the playoffs began. And they went to as many Super Bowls as the Eagles during the Andy Reid era.

And nobody remembers them.

Vick and Jackson will get done well before next off-season, so that isn’t a worry.

The 1 year guys are what they are….. Fillers. The front office knows that. They also know that if those guys are productive that they can extend them midyear. The Eagles FO is known for doing things like that. If the fillers don’t work out, it makes it easy for them to go away.

I’ll take a 50/50 shot at the Super Bowl any year. I’d say that’s a little better than 1/32.

We have three titles–1947, 1948, and 1960. People forget that the NFL didn’t start in 1967 when they started calling the championship game the Super Bowl.

The eagles have some of if not the smartest cap guys in the league.

Yeah…and they have possibly the dumbest coach in the league as well.

The Eagles are not hiring all timers. They are stacking up young proven talent. Ronnie Brown is the only FA signed by the Eagles -1 year contrat-that has a longer history in the NFL.

The ‘Dream Team’?… Let’s not get carried away. How about, arguably, the best -on paper- team in for the 2011-2012 season.

So let’s wait and see what happens in about… 4 months!!
