Mark my words....Vick will end the season for Philly in the same fashion as his old counterpart Brett Favre finished his in the league. Both hands on his head, looking down at the ground, asking himself "why the hell did I just throw that...?" And that's if he makes it through the season and avoids getting broke in half.
Imagine the "dream team" fizzling out with Vince Young running the only 4 plays he can actually remember.....the sideline fist fights, the locker room tension, the finger pointing, the Philly fans throwing C batteries at their own team again.

Get your popcorn ready.

“especially with the sudden mandate to be better than the Packers, Falcons, Saints, Cowboys, and the eventual AFC champion.”

Why is Dallas even mentioned in the same breath as these other teams? They have won one playoff game in 15 years and had a 6-10 record last season. Seriiously... Why not mention the Rams, Seahawks, Buccaneers, Giants and Bears as well? All of them had better records than Dallas last season, and the Queens, Skins, Lions and 49ers tied them!

As for Philthydelphia, their biggest roadblocks would be the Packers, Saints, Bears and Falcons, with the added headache of signing too many egos without the benefit of an offseason program. Good luck with that. My prediction is that the Giants take the East this year.

as a Packers fan i really don't have a dog in this fight...(ooops , sorry Mike Vick that was a bad pun)..but i believe the reason McNabb is pissed and resentful is because he knows that if he would have the talent that Vick had last year at ANY time in his career he would have won at least 1 if not multiple Super Bowls. The NFL has proven time and time again that above all else you need an ELITE QB to win in January and an ELITE offensive line to protect him. Just ask Brady and the Patriots how the Giants pass rush blew their offense up in their quest for perfection. All the signings on defense wont mean sh*t if Vick doesnt have time to throw the ball downfield to his recievers because thats how the defenses gameplanned against the Eagles at the end of last year..they actually WANTED Vick to take off and run because they would punish him and eventually tire him out. If the Eagles don't win the Super Bowl it might be more of a testament of who Vick is as an ELITE QB and less the talent around him.

Right or wrong McNabb needs to shut his big mouth. Who is he to talk? He couldn't last the whole game in the Super Bowl, he can't run a two minute offense. This guy just basically got cut by the REDSKINS, in his place Rex Grossman who couldn't handle a below average offense in Chicago. McNabbs best shot at success is holding a clip board.

The biggest reason the Eagles were so good for so long was JJ and his defense anyway. Maybe that's why Reid has loaded up on offensive talent the last few years (one year of which McNabb got to take advantage of and somehow still couldn't). After JJ's health started failing him, maybe Reid realized that soon the team couldn't count on the D to carry them as much. But maybe not, maybe it IS because he and everyone who ever lived is living now, and ever will live just hates YOU and wants YOU to fail Donnie Mac. LOL

Uh, Reid MADE HIM. He can't beat out Grossman and is a less attractive option than Tyler Thigpen without Reid.

Threw teammates under the bus 24/7 here. All players were happy when he left. Not one - Eagles or Redskins - lamented his departure.

Ok this made sense until you put the Cowboys in that group weren’t they 6-10 wasn’t Philly already better than them???

————————————————————–

I’m gonna type this really slow so you guys can follow along. Last year is last year. This year is this year. But go right ahead and underestimate the Cowboys, it’s how the Eagles have lost 4 of the last 6 games to them (and I’m not counting the last one for obvious reasons).

I mean if you’re going to base everything off of last year you can expect the Eagles to choke in the wild card round again, right?
-----------------------------------------------

Ok Melonhead, I'm going to say this really slowly so YOU can understand it, though from the looks of things you seem to be PFT's village idiot.

The logic that the Eagles are going to be a better team this year, is based on last year, AND the improvements that have been made THIS year.

Philly raped Arizona most likely in that trade, had the best off-season, beefed up their already 11th ranked defense with All-Pro's, and Pro Bowlers to go with their 2nd ranked offense from last year, got a backup QB better than probably half of the league's at least, and added two possible future HoF line coaches to already one of the best offensive minds in football in Andy Reid.

Oh yeah...and we won the division last year.

So you add the two things together, and a logical person would think that the Eagles will most likely improve from last year. An illogical person would do like most of the Cowboy's fans on here and say :

"HoW Many U Gotz!! We goT 5!!! deeeerrrp!!!!, RomO is TroY AikmAn's seCreT loVe ChIllddd with Jerry JonEs, deeeeerp!".

When the Eagles signed Terrel Owens he was already known to be a problem player. Every guy the Eagles have brought in is known for hard work. I could understand if McNabb said there might be a chemistry problem, but to say that the problem might be character I feel is a real slight at the players the Eagles brought in.

Other than that, the problems the Eagles' face are who to give the ball to, Desean, Maclin or McCoy? Maybe this is why the Eagles never won anything with McNabb at the helm. I wonder if he knows you can just spread the ball around to all three. Desean only needs about 50 catches to have a huge year, and Maclin is humble despite his huge talent. The team still has to run, so Shady will get his share, not to mention he's also big in the pass game.

And then the other problem is paying Vick, but he fails to mention that doing so will free up millions in cap space considering he's a $16 million hit to the cap because of the Franchise Tag.

The Eagles have their problems. It's uncertain the level of chemistry they'll have. It's uncertain how Juan Castillo will make the transition from OL coach to Defensive Coordinator. We still are unsure about the right side of our line with Danny Watkins starting as a rookie and the RT spot still up in the air. We still don't know what's going on as far as LBs go. I love McNabb and appreciate all he's done for this organization, but he's not here anymore. He clearly doesn't know what's going on.

Not all Eagles fans hate McNabb, for the record. So all of you haters need to stop saying "Eagles fans" when talking about these yapping fools on PFT.

McNabb had faults as a QB, but he was the best QB we've had in decades - if not ever.

He IS, however, as passive-aggressive crybaby. That's his personality and has nothing to do with his on-field performance, where he was a true warrior (won a game on a broken foot once).

McNabb, you're not forgotten by the true football fans in Philadelphia.

Philly fans are some of the most ungrateful pieces of garbage on the planet. Same with all the Mcnabb haters.

I have no allegience to either the Eagles or Mcnabb but last I checked, the greatest season the Eagles have had in the last 20 years came with Mcnabb at the helm.

Mcnabb got you closer to a superbowl victory than any other quaterback in the last 20 years too.

You want to blame Mcnabb for the superbowl loss and because he threw up midgame, what about the Eagles defense? You don't think Drew Brees is a Superbowl champion just slightly because of an interception return for a touchdown late in the game?

Mcnabb got too much blame for not winning it all for the Eagles on a team that has only done worse since losing support for him. Facts are facts people

I'm surprised to hear how bad McNabb has been throughout his career. McNabb has great career statistics, the Eagles were really good while he was there, he had very few offensive weapons, but every pass was at the receiver's feet. How did he get these great statistics and win so many games? Is it possible that fans like to overemphasize the negatives when a player leaves and forget about the positives?

“[Y]ou’ve got to worry about DeSean [Jackson],” McNabb said. “When he comes back are you going to give DeSean the ball or throw it to [Jeremy] Maclin? Remember, you have to give LeSean McCoy the ball, too."

------------------------------------------------
I can't stand this Diva Receiver culture where coaches and QBs have to "worry" about giving WRs balls or they'll throw tantrums. It's a team sport. The only thing any receiver should be worried about is advancing the team's chances of winning, whether he's thrown 10 balls or one.

To those saying, "He was asked the question, it's not like he had a presser about it."...true. What's wrong with giving a vanilla type answer to that question though? Instead he used the question to vent and whine, and it reflects poorly on him (as usual).

This "buy our way to a championship" thing has never worked in football. It's worked for the NY Yankees, and that's about it.

The funny part is that the Eagles will spend a s#*tload of money, and they will still NOT win the Super Bowl. Fact. Didn't worlk for the Redskins, hasn't worked for the Cowboys, hasn't worked for the Jets- ain't gonna work for the Eagles.

So at least McNabb has the satisfaction of knowing that.

I don't think he sounds bitter at all...
Sounds more like he was just asked his opinion on it since it's a news item and he was with that team for so many years and has relationships with alot of those players/coaches.

Plus, he's probably a bit angry that the team is "NOW" spending big on Big Talent for the defense/offense/all around...

Imagine what Jim Johnston could have done with the talent the Eagles aquired during this free agency period.
