The guy can just do to much and we have to many TEs to get him on the field. That being said they still wanted a vet FB that was in the same mold as Leach and it looks like they got one! Great news for Texans fans like myself.

Ibcoach34, I think I heard a couple days ago on local radio that leach was in the backfield on 56% of all running plays last year. So the Texans do use a FB in the zone scheme they run.

Excellent blocking back but Vickers is strictly one dimensional.

Browns are switching to a west coast offense and decided to let Vickers walk because the guy cannot catch a cold.

Great blocker. But hands of stone.

If Schaub plans to use Vickers as a checkdown option in the flat, he’ll be sadly disappointed.

CLE did not run a zone scheme with Vickers in the game – it was a traditional 2 back I set…minus the technicalities – Vickers was and is a very good lead blocker – and should be a part time offensive player in 2 back sets. I believe any faster than avg fullback can do work in a zone scheme. Vickers is one of the faster fullbacks in the league imo. Should be interesting if they give him some goal line carries who knows.
