The Tennessee Titans have lost a cornerback for the season with an Achilles injury.
Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that cornerback Ryan Mouton suffered the Achilles injury in Tuesday night’s practice.
Although a diagnosis won’t be made until his MRI on Wednesday morning, he’s expected to need season-ending surgery.
Mouton was a third-round draft pick in 2009.
At least two other players have been lost for the season to Achilles injuries in the last week: Bengals linebacker Roddrick Muckelroy suffered a ruptured Achilles’ tendon at practice on Saturday, and Browns punter Reggie Hodges tore his Achilles’ tendon at practice on Tuesday.

I’m not fan of the Titans, but my best goes out to him and the other two guys. Tearing that Achilles is no joke…
Not Courtland Finnegan…? Bummer….
Sucks to see a Katy Tiger go down for the year even if he plays in Possum Holler.
Yo that’s horrible. Hope he makes a quick recovery
wonder if all these are a result of poor off-season work outs? sucks to lose the season before it starts…
I thought Tuesday was a league wide day off day?
I can’t believe I got dislikes on my comment. Wtf is wrong with people
That was the second Titan to suffer an Achilles injury in as many days (UDFA WR OJ Murdock). Especially sucks for Mouton, who was a virtual lock to make the roster and be active every week.
Is it just me, or does it seem like an awful lot of Achilles injuries in such a short time? And I can’t remember the last time I heard of a punter going down with one (in practice, no less).
Man, I hate that. May he have a speedy recovery. Titans still SUCK!
sucks but im just glad it wasnt verner or mccourty
I feel bad for the guy.
one of fishers boys. i’m just glad fishers gone.
Great, just when I was hoping to read a story about Courtland Finnegan.
I ruptured my achilles playing tennis in March. Just now starting to walk semi-normally. Nasty, nasty injury.
Cue the Asante Samuel to the Titans trade talk…
Guess they’ll be calling us about Asante now, uh?
Ruptured mine coaching kids volleyball. Was told by a physical therapist when it wants to go, it goes. Very random, but a long recovery process.
