Getty ImagesFalcons cornerback Brent Grimes was one of the most pleasant surprises in football last year, putting up a Pro Bowl-caliber season seemingly out of nowhere.
There was some thought the restricted free agent could skip training camp for a little while in hopes of a new contract, but he arrived Thursday and signed his $2.61 million deal to coincide with the ratification of the new CBA. D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Grimes will participate in the evening practice.
Grimes led the NFC with 23 passes defensed to go with five picks. He’s due a major deal next offseason if he can back up his big year.

Thank you brent! Wooo I am pumped for him. Can we please sign a decent nickel tho?
Thank goodness. Maybe now D.Led and the AJC can get off his back thinking he was snubbing the Falcons. When there was no reason for him to be there until the CBA was ratified. Now we have back arguably the most athletic corner in football back!!!!!! Now with the pass rush beefed up are secondary will not get shredded again. Bring on the (Redskins) I mean “Dream Team” and the Pack.
This guys jump rating on Madden should be like 120. Dude can practically fly.
