Free agent receiver Legedu Naanee is heading to the Panthers.
The news of the former Charger’s new home was first reported by the San Diego Union-Tribune, and later confirmed by Naanee himself.
“Heading too Charlotte, can’t wait to meet my new teammates and get to work!” Naanee wrote on Twitter.
Naanee played in 10 games for the Chargers last year, starting nine, and caught 23 passes for 371 yards and a touchdown. Panthers head coach Ron Rivera and offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski both worked with Naanee in San Diego.

“Dont you know who I am?!?!” – Legadu Naanee
She’s cute
Should I be happy about this?
Looks like Urkel with dreads and no glasses.
He is more of a special teams ace than a receiving threat. Look for Floyd to be next!
He looks like that chick in Avatar. LOL.
Not the Chargers reciever I was hoping for…
Welcome to the future Dynasty of the New Panthers Era,
Congratulations Panthers fans.
You guys just picked up the #1 funny name free agent on the market.
Just say “Legedu Naane” seven or eight times in a row, and try both not to smile or turn it into some kind of sing-song verse.
Nnamdi Asomugha doesn’t even come close in this metric.

Smith, LaFell, Edwards, Gettis, Pilares, and now Naane? I count six receivers that could make the roster and get significant playing time. WTH? These are not your father’s Panthers. (It is NOT what it is NOT…)
Naanee has alot of potential as a receiver. I’m not even a panthers fan but seriously, this guy can play. If Cam newton turns out to be good, the panthers could become relevant quick…
and who knows? Maybe they’ll grab Floyd too.
Please unscramble the letters and tell us his *actual* name.
Good luck Dogadoo hopefully you can keep your mouth shut and actually play well in your new town.
so…is he the #2 guy? not a solid move for GM Marty Hurney.
Hey, I recognize that guy!
He’s an NFL football player!
Just from looking at the guy, I think he and the Newt will communicate well with each other.
Naanee is not 6’5″ nor does he have blazing speed, but he is very reliable and he knows the system. Had he been a dud, coach Rivera and Chudzinski would not have brought him in. At 6’2″ he is a big enough target with experience. I’m sure they got him at a bargain. Floyd will probably stay in SD.
I like it.

THIS GUUYYY…he leads the league in vowels.
Talented and underrated. Also, he played used to play QB so he’s pretty useful in trick plays.
