With or without a new CBA in place, the Plaxico Burress era will have to wait a little longer.

Burress injured an ankle while working out with receiver Santonio Holmes away from the Jets facility.

“It was just a slight, quick roll, I didn’t have any tape on or anything,” Burress told reporters, via Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger. “That was one thing, I should have gotten taped up before running routes so, it was a [freak injury] nothing serious. I know it’s going to be one of those deals where everybody else on the outside will make it this huge thing but it’s a little swell-up.”

Burress had chronic problems with his right ankle in New York. This injury occurred to the other ankle.

It’s not a big deal, but it’s a reminder of how quickly the optimism brought by these early August moves can quickly be dashed.
