Fantasy football is back too

The lockout was annoying, but it only cost us one preseason game.  Thankfully it didn’t delay any fantasy drafts either.

With moves coming fast and furious, we’ve been updating our online Rotoworld draft guide like crazy. We continue to add content in this unique year, and make sure all our rankings, tiers and projections are up to date.

So check it out if you need your fix.  Silva will be offended otherwise. The Fantasy Sports Trade Association (I was surprised there was such a thing too) called it the best online draft guide in the business.

And learn why we ranked Michael Vick No. 1 at quarterback, and higher in the top-200 than any quarterback in Rotoworld’s 13-year history.

No FFB for me this year. I don’t have the energy

Vick is number 1 with a bullet. Along with a hammer, a noose, and some battery cables to attach to the dog’s ears.

Since there is no possible way Vick lasts an entire season with the style of football he plays, ranking him first is pretty stupid. I’d rather have Manning, Brady, or Rogers any day.

yeah waste a number one pick on a guy who is guaranteed to miss games this season due to injury.

Everyone who drafts Vick will be pretty happy once some linebacker drills him on a scramble, ending his season in week… let’s say 5?

  6. touchdownroddywhite says: Aug 5, 2011 12:47 PM

I think it’s obvious why Vick is ranked so high. He can outscore half of the other teams roster on a good day, and typically won’t crush you on too many weeks if you have a solid back up.

Rule #1 of Fantasy Football always draft a RB in the first round.

Fantasy football is, has always been, and always will be, unquestionably lame.

Stick with the real world, losers. Root for a real team. You are not achieving anything, you do not own anything.

    Sheesh.

Just draft VY as your backup and you’re good to go.

It doesn’t mean Vick is the best quarterback. It means that Vick produces the moist points. He put up points at an incredible rate last year. Even if he misses 3 games this year I’d still take him over Brady.

Drafting a running back is usually good option but this is a pass happy league and most teams are RB by committee. So I would not take a running back until after I picked up a QB.

  26. facemob78 says: Aug 5, 2011 2:35 PM

Vick is gonna put up way more fantasy points than all other qb’s except for Rogers….maybe…but drafting vick you get qb and rb points….I’m taking him #1 overall

  27. nookers says: Aug 5, 2011 2:35 PM

Brady over Vick for one reason.

The Pat’s *new* defense will ensure Brady is on the field at all times.

Vick is like a midget on meth.

————————————————————–Dude if you knew anything about football you would know that popularity of Fantasy Football is what helped the NFL become as big as it is.

All the guys in my league follow a team It’s harmless fun and you can win money. It;s fun to manage a team and show your skills.

What does owning anything have to with FF? You have no idea what your taking about. That’s probably why you don’t play.

You know whats lame is the fact that you wasted your time to log in and E-hate.

“It doesn’t mean Vick is the best quarterback. It means that Vick produces the moist points. ” Moist points? I think that is a bit of a Freudian slip and you have a crush on him no?

  30. facemob78 says: Aug 5, 2011 2:45 PM

Pats defense will not be as good as the eagles therefore vick will always be on the field….which equals mad fantasy points….

    ———————————————-

The pass-happiness of the league now is exactly why you need to grab a top-tier #1 back if available rather than a QB. Generally you can only play 1 QB & need at least 2 RBs. The gap between the top shelf QB’s and those just below is much smaller than the gap between awesome backs and substandard or committee backs. For example, while Big Ben isn’t flashy and generally is available in round 5 or 6 in FF drafts, he always puts up top-10 numbers. Fill out your skill positions first then get a quality QB.

And what do you achieve and own by rooting for a real team? Don’t tell me you’re one of those Packer “owners” who thinks you had something to do with winning the Super Bowl?

    i know a couple reasons y u would rank Vick number 1.

1.The first reason being the players around him r just entering the prime of their careers. Desean 4th season Maclin McCoy’s 3rd season Celek 5th season.

    2. Vick has another year under Andy Reid. Meaning his pocket passing and blitz recoginition should be improved from last year.

    3. Key additions on the offensive line and in the back field. Upgrade o-line will give Vick more time to make plays and the right reads. And Ronnie Brown is a great pass blocker and his addition will force DC to focus more on the Eagles running the ball giving Vick more openings.

    4. Vick is something Manning Brady n Brees isnt a running threat. Every qb gets 1 point per every 25 passing yards and 1 point per 10 rushing yards. But Vick is the only top qb who will really take advantage of those rushing yard points. To the tune of about 600 more yards then any other top qb. Also Vick will probably rush for 5-6 more tds then any other qb. Thats about 100 extra fantasy points other qbs wont see.

    5. An upgraded Eagles defense. The better the Eagles defense is at getting off the field the more time it gives Vick to put up fantasy points.

There are more but I believe these are the main reasons why you guys have him ranked #1.
