Pats take a look at Channing Crowder

Linebacker Channing Crowder, unceremoniously dumped by the Dolphins last week, could be moving closer toward joining a new team.

John Clayton of ESPN reports that the Pats gave Crowder a physical on Thursday.

No offer has been made, and it’s not clear whether an offer is in the offing.

At a minimum, it’s just another example of AFC East teams sifting through each other’s trash in search of that wad of cash that accidentally was thrown away.

    Love this line! lol.

  2. A “whiff of desperation” by working out a player at a position that the team is fully stocked at (Mayo, Spikes, Guyton, Fletcher) coming off of a 14-2 season and not even offering that player a contract?

Man, oh, man. That team is dessssperrrrate.

  3. BB: “Wow looking great out there Crowder – why those damn fins treat you like that after everything you’ve given them is beyond me”
CC: “Not sure coach you think I get a contract?”
BB: “Sure Sure we’ll get to that – maybe dinner tonight?…listen any chance you got an extra copy of the playbook”
CC: “nah had to return it…”
BB: “errr…about dinner – think we’ve seen everything we need to see” thanks for coming in.

  4. Clearly, losing twice to Rex last year has Belichick reaching for straws. Ochocinco? Haynesworth? Roth? Crowder? Are you kidding? I’ve heard of digging through the trash, but this is more like sleeping in the dumpster.

  5. Clearly flagstaffphotos is jealous because the Pats have clown stomped his team time after time.

    It’s fun to watch…

  6. In a little while theres gonna be a article saying the following. Report: Pats bring in Cotchery for a workout. Im waiting for it as we all know they love to go after jets players once they are done with them.

  7. Man first fat Albert and now maybe this piece of trash. They would go great together and we all know Belichik can make winners out of everyone right. If the Jets went for these two id love to see the comments but if its the Pats its ok and all good. Amazing, keep collecting scraps.

  8. Yeah… How many former jets players have the pats brought in? And now, how many former pats have the jets brought in?

The jets have done it probably three times more, but nice try.

I don’t recall the part of the article where it says they signed him.

  10. I mean think about it, the jets have four division championships in their entire existence… The patriots won 8 from 2001-2010.

  11. At this rate, the Pats would be calling my mom in for a workout and physical if BB knew where she lived. And hell no, I’m not telling!

And… very creative, honeybadger14, thanks for the laugh, but if they wanted to just grab a Dolphins playbook they wouldn’t have gone through the whole hassle of a physical?

  12. Lol… since the AFL began, the Patriots have won the Conference Championship 2 more times than the Jets have won the AFC/AFL East championship.

And yet 28-21 is supposed to bother me?

  13. Ahh 28-21 the mantra of the Jets fans since they can’t say Super Bowl or AFC Champion since most of them were not alive the last time Joe Willie drank his way to an AFL/NFL Championship.

    Happy upcoming 43rd!

  14. Bad PFT comment mojo… stay away Bill. Stay away. Pic here probably taken in 4th quarter of a Pats beat-down of Fins.

  15. Ok, we all know this guy got called ‘Clam Chowder’ a few times growing up. Hell..probably more than a few. Although I’m sure with him going to NEW ENGLAND, those insults are a thing of the past…

  16. “Pure smokescreen.”

Smokescreen for what?I don’t see how he could be used to hide anything you were doing.”Omg! channing….crowder…oh”

  17. “I mean think about it, the jets have four division championships in their entire existence… The patriots won 8 from 2001-2010.”

I know right. Had the pats not finally gotten it in the 2000’s we would still be making fun of them. Before the 2000’s i think they had 4 division championships. In fact , from 1960 till 1995 they only won the division 3 times. One per decade.

So, of all the teams to know what its like to suck for a very long time before ever becoming a constant winner, the pats fans should know, Take their advice!

  18. And by winning those four, they had more than the jets did over that same time span…

Admit it, the jets have been more of a laughingstock than the patriots ever were.

    ___
Since the Super Bowl era began, the Steelers have won twice as many Super Bowls, yet you Pats fans continue to think that losing a few playoff games to the Pats is supposed to bother Pittsburgh fans? LMAO

    B) this had nothing to do with the Steelers

    __
This article had nothing to do with the Jets either, but that didn’t stop you from bringing them up, idiot.

Sucks that you can’t take the fact that the Steelers OWN your team where it matters MOST.

  21. Actually, idiot, it was a Jets fan that first brought up the Jets…

But, you know, make up stuff if it makes your argument sound better.

  22. for the record…. the division titles for current afc east teams are

    jets – LMAO 3

    bills – 9

    pats – 10 (7 in 00’s not 8)

    and last but not least

    dolphins – 16

since the afl and nfl merged in 66

also like to point out that the jets won b2b div titles in 68&69 but then went all the way to 98 as bottom dwellers, ant still haven’t won any since 98

  23. @ phinphan99

The NFL and AFL merged in 1970 not 1966.

And, the Jets won the division in 2002 on a tie breaker with the Dolphins.

I’m no Jets fan, but get your facts straight before anyone lends any credence to your rantings.

  24. Actually, it was a tie breaker with both the patriots and the dolphins… Technically the phins ended up in third.

    Steelers 6, Pats 3*

No need to make ANYTHING up. The Steelers OWN your team where it matters MOST…Super Bowl wins.

    PWNED
