it isnt that Boss sucks, hes just not as quality of a player. and before somebody uses blocking as an argument, millers blocking was not an issue and the raiders run game as a whole wasnt either. non issue.

Miller and Boss are not the same. sure Boss is effective but he isnt nearly as good a receiver as Miller. not now, not never.

Nnamdi is a great player, but the Eagles way overpaid him. Al overpaid when he was in his prime. I really thought that fact would keep Nnamdi loyal but for all the niceties thrown his way he’s plain money hungry. He doesn’t make the int’s he should ( don’t fall for the lack of throws debate) He misses plenty. I also noticed an increase in interference penalties and grabbing. He is slowing down now for sure. A great capable player but never was a game changer. After watching Haynes in his prime and Lester Hayes even Woodson he isn’t superstar caliber. Don’t see it happening in Philly either…………

In the end, the NFL is a business, and everyone involved did what they needed to do to get what or who they felt they deserved or needed.

Truthfully? Because he’s 30 years old.. always misses at least 2 to 3 games a year.. and last year, while the Raiders still had a chance at the playoffs, he decided to sit and not play instead of taking a shot and trying to tough it out and play.. that didn’t sit well with the old man…. Also, if you check Stats LLC, Routt actually had a better denied percentage than both Aso and Revis, and he was thrown at 3 times as much as those 2….

Great value pick up by the Raiders! Boss will be a great replacement for Miller. Hopefully the Raiders do not overpay him like they have a tendency to do. i.e. Paying Huff 16mil this year.

Actually, Huff’s base salary this year is 685,000… not 16 Mil.. he did get a 7 Mil signing bonus… but the fact that people think he is getting 16 Mil this year is hilarious

Actually, Boss was an alternate probowler himself in 2008….. People think that Miller is a better receiver because they see more coverage of the East Coast bias teams… but they don’t realize that just like Boss, he’s injury prone to a point, and does drop some easily catchable balls…. I agree with the above.. the Raiders won’t skip a beat at the TE position.. if anything, they got a better blocker to help shore up the shaky offensive line…

You reported that they were $17 million over the cap a couple of days ago. Is Seymour restructuring that much?

The Raiders were the highest in the league OVER the cap as of yesterday (something like $17 mil over).

That’s a lot of cash for so much mediocrity.

You do realize that they could have restructered contracts last week like other teams (Cardinals) to get under the cap. However, the players who restructered weren’t able to practice until yesterday after the new CBA was signed. That’s why 25 Cardinals practiced for the first time yesterday afternoon.

The old guy is losing it and ocassionally makes some bad decisions.. but he hasn’t lost it all.
