weightshakes says: A receiver who had only 44 yards receiving? He gained less than 20 yards rushing per game? One touchdown all year? I’m not sure the Jets were waiting around for him. I think they’ll have no problem replacing his production.

And the Bills gave him $16 million?

Thats because Rex Ryan is just like his father, he doesn't know how to use his Offensive weapons. (ex. Greene, Tomlinson, Sanchez, Smith) The Ryan family is all about Defense.

Chan Gailey on the other hand is an Offensive Mastermind. He has gotten a lot out of a little. (ex. Thigpen, Stewart, Fitzpatrick, Stevie Johnson)

Go Bills!!!!

Signing Brad Smith to this kind of contract was a CLASSIC "bad team" move. It's the sort of mistake that you see bad teams make over and over: Take a bit player who succeeded on a good team surrounded by good players and good coaches and then HOPE that it'll work out when you take him out of that environment and put him on your inferior team.

Larry Brown? Az Hakim? Trung Canidate?

It's funny how the Jets fans can justify losing this guy by saying 'would the Jets have paid this guy $15'. Guys it's over four years....it's not a lot of money. Underated, valuable guy. Would have loved to have seen this guy in Miami.

The Jets chased the prettiest girl at the ball and were rejected. They misplayed the Smith move thinking he'd return. Too many loses for them this year and they will slide. Can't wait to see pretty boy Sanchez struggle....

Sure, why not? He threw 7 passes in 5 years for the Jets. Sounds dangerous to me.

It is dangerous, here's why... Chan Gailey is the person who made Kordell Stewart a threat during the years he was used properly. Gailey is now the mastermind behind the playbook Smith will follow. Expect results.
Go Bills!!!!

Do you really believe that the Jets would've signed Smith at four-years, $15 million if he waited for the Nnamdi chase to be over? Is that really the angle you're going with? Another fine example of 'troll' journalism.

Brad Smith is an ALL WORLD Person - I've met him 2x and he and his family are the nicest people on earth...

I think Brad Smith was a nice option when Sanchez was a rookie and 2nd year QB but, for the Jets to develop, Sanchez needs to be the QB and not be taken out of rythm...

Good fit now with Buffalo as they develop a QB....

Also, If Brad Smith was never going to throw the ball then, the "Wildcat" was greatly overrated and was being sniffed out all too often...

If I'm Buffalo I let Brad Smith Throw the ball over 50% of the time over the top....

For the Jets, they have kick returners, the Kickoffs are further back and they drafted a WR in Kerley who can be the All-Around gimmick guy.....

Fact is, as great a Guy Brad Smith is, He's not a player who you hold your team up over and over spend with... He's a nice little part of your team on the cheap and IMO, the Jets weren't really looking to keep him unless he wound up wanting to return cheap after the FA storm....

Best Wishes to Brad and THROW THE BALL!!!!

"Smith is now a quarterback in Buffalo, where he could become a Kordell Stewart-style weapon"

Sure, why not? He threw 7 passes in 5 years for the Jets. Sounds dangerous to me.
