Why don’t you go back and look at EVERY QB picked in the 2nd round over the last 15 years. You know what you’ll find? No Super Bowls, no Pro Bowls, and like a 1-6 record in playoff games (I don’t recall the actual numbers, but they were atrocious).

Okay, let’s examine that statement, shall we.
Vick has started 79 games in the league. He is 15 games over .500. Romo has started 61 games in the league. Despite a bad year last year, he’s 17 games over .500. Vick has won exactly ONE more playoff game than Romo. Romo is almost 10 percentage points ahead of Vick in completions. He’s almost 30 yards ahead in yards per game. Vick’s best year ever in passing is 3018 yards. Romo has three seasons better than that with one of those almost 1500 yards more. Despite being more than a season behind Vick in games played, Romo is more than 2,000 yards ahead in passing with a better TD to INT ratio. The main reason Vick got a chance last year was because the Eagles’ OL got Kolb knocked out of the second game.

You really appear to be hanging your hat on one playoff win. Personally, I don’t see a big difference between 2-3 and 1-3. Not when neither QB has a Super Bowl. And certainly not when EVERY other stat points in the opposite direction.

The isssue raised by drop703 was regarding turnovers. The numbers illustrate the turnovers of the three QBs in question. The point is “Don’t accuse one QB of being a turnover machine and then exclude another one who has many more turnovers”. Clear enough?

I tend to give David Carr just a bit of a pass. Don’t know that I’ve ever seen a QB get the snot kicked out of him as consistently as Carr did unless it was Patrick Ramsey playing under Spurrier’s “My offense is so advanced that we don’t need to block” scheme.

I can’t imagine that Carr can close his eyes at night without having visions of the DL in his face.

Who would have thought that the only guy who has legit shot at being a true NFL starter teams can feel confident in would be Kevin Kolb.

They have improved the RB’s this year, WR’s with Hankerson, Gaffney, Paul and Stallworth and O-Line with G Chester. They WILL BE better in 2011.

Kolb: Looks like he could be decent.

Really guys, which of these “studs” would you take over Beck? As much as I hate the Skins (and anything Shanahan related), it wasn’t as stupid as it seems in the context of the QBs in that draft.
