As Vikings tight end Visanthe Shiancoe tries to hold off a rookie tight end who slid to round two due to a serious hamstring injury suffered while playing for Notre Dame, Shiancoe has a hamstring injury of his own.
The good news is it doesn’t look serious.
Vikings coach Leslie Frazier told reporters that Shiancoe “tweaked” his hamstring in practice on Monday. "[W]e’ll have to monitor that and just see how he’s doing,” Frazier said, via quotes distributed by the team.
Frazier also said that receiver Percy Harvin was held out for a portion of practice due to sore ribs.
"[W]e’ll see how [Harvin] does tomorrow but I expect both of those guys back in a short time,” Frazier said. “The hamstring is the one that you have to be very careful about.”
The injury possibly opens the door for Kyle Rudolph to prove right away that he was a round-two steal for the Vikings.
