I think a lot will come down to how well the coaching staff prepares these guys to avoid these kind of mental mistakes.

*Asomugha – agreed. Arguably best CB in football
*Babin – one solid year last year, and he followed his boy to Philly. He will be hard pressed to repeat last year’s performance, but time will tell.
*DRC – solid guy. Let’s see how he jells in Philly
*Jenkins – not sure about “top” D-lineman. Top lineman available is arguable. Tim will tell on him.
*Page – totally disagree. 6 games started the last 2 years – solid? No – extremely questionable due to injuries, and brought on only for depth.

The D has been upgraded, I agree, but “scary” shouldn’t be even used until it is seen. How about you see how they play first. You have a new & first time D-coordinator, among other new coaches. There has been very little time to get on the same page and develop chemistry. Injuries have been taking their toll on ALL teams. You will see more of that with guys not in prime playing shape.

The Eagles on paper have improved. Having said that, nothing is won or lost on paper, and until you beat the team lined up opposite the Eagles every week, nobody will HAVE to “enjoy” losing to you, which is ridiculous to say in the first place. Bring it, don’t sing it.

I have heard nothing but how the Eagles are going to do this, how they are going to win the NFC East, how they will make the playoffs, and how much better they will be, and teams will not be able to stop them on offense or defense. PROVE IT. WIN A SB. Until the Eagles are hoisting the SB trophy, the team is still another talented team who can’t turn the corner.

The chips are all in. Reid is feeling the heat. Win it this year or go home. Let’s see if the experiment pans out.

You can go through and name everyone you want that the eagles signed…you still didn’t fix your 2 biggest problem areas. Your Oline and your linebackers. Your passing game will still have some problems too, thanks to your safeties. Don’t get me wrong, your corners are great, but Samuel and DRC like to take chances. Without safeties over the top, your defense is wide open to big plays. Let’s not forget, your defenseive coordinator is new, and hes an offensive line coach! The last time he taught defense was for highschoolers. And you say Vick is an MVP candidate. How exactly??? Because he came out of prison and had 1 tremendous year? Tell me, what in his past suggest he will put together numbers like he did last year? He had a fairy tale season, and my money is on him not being able to do it again. He is also injury prone and your Oline won’t help him out much at all. And dont talk about VY. The guy couldn’t handle it in Tennesse of all places. Now you take him to a city known for harsh criticism, and you put him on a team that is expected to win a Super Bowl. If he cracked mentally before, there is no way he can handle it in Philly.

1. Offensive Line? Danny Watkins was one of the best in the draft. We should have Jamal Jackson back, and Peters and Herremans are returning. Not bad, and definitely upgraded. Oh, and what about coach Howard Mudd?

2. Linebackers: They are not great, but they are not terrible by any stretch. I grant you this is a weakness.

3. Safties? LOL. Nate Allen is back and we signed Jawquan Jarrett and Jarrad Page. Major upgrade from last year with Allen being hurt and Mikell sucking.

4. Coordinator: It can’t get worse than last year. McDermott was a great guy, but was lost. Juan has been around and knows defense despite not having been a coordinator.

5. Vick: So he was lucky? The guy has fundamentally transformed his game, thanks to Andy Reid and his staff. Vick will only be better.

6. Young: You’re right, Vick IS injury prone due to his style of play. By young is an excellent backup for him. It will be a much easier transition (if needed) than if Kolb were here. The playbook won’t change, and Young has skills. Just watch…Reid has a way of working with players like this. The only way he’ll be booed in Philly is if he plays like crap.

Despite the above, let me be clear: None of it is a guarantee of anything. But if you can’t admit that the Eagles look GREAT from a personnel standpoint, you’re on crack.
