In the weeks before the 2010 draft, Tim Tebow developed a habit of describing everything he was experiencing as a “blessing.” Now, at a time when some may view the early stages of his NFL career as cursed, Tebow has a new buzzword.
Arnie Stapleton of the Associated Press reports that Tebow used the word “fun” 11 times during a five-and-one-half minute session with reporters on Wednesday.
“Am I having fun? I am having fun,” Tebow said. “I enjoy playing this game.”
But Tebow won’t be playing as much as he thought he’d be playing, given the team’s decision to keep Kyle Orton, and to place him atop the depth chart.
“I want to have fun because I’m playing the game I love,” Tebow said. “But also to compete, try to be able to put some drives in the end zone, because that’s ultimately your goal, and then just execute the offense, right audibles, right ‘hots,’ right sights, right checks and just lead the guys out there and have fun doing it.”
He said he’s not down regarding his demotion, and that he looks forward to showing on Thursday night against the Cowboys that he can make plays from the pocket. If he ever wants to have the fun that goes along with being the starting quarterback of the Broncos, he’ll need to learn how to stay put.
