then how come Antoine Winfield, the most respected guy on the vikings, says Moss was a GREAT teammate?

Maybe Moss saw that Childress and his offensive staff were stubborn pricks that took no feedback from the players, and Moss called him out on it. Steve hutchinson and matt birk are quoted criticizing the offensive coaches for not listening to players suggestions.

Although I agree with you, it's a waste of time to use facts, logic and rational thinking with the packer fan turds.

......and b4 that incident, u personally screwed up a very decent offensive line, personally pissing off the likes of Matt Birk & Artis Hicks to make sure that talent did not return, went thru more qb's (bout 15 u qb guru@#$) in 4 years than moss has recieved speeding tix, fuc_ed up numerous challenges during games, could not handle "game time management" that a 10 year old could figure out better, could not make 2nd half adjustments so a pee wee football team could beat u, only allow best running back in the league the last 5 years to 4-5 touches in 2nd half, completely stripped a 10-12 pro bowl caliber player roster to no depth whatsoever. Yeah chili, it was "Randys fault", BUT a good leader is able to adapt and encourage and get the BEST out of its team, you never had or got that. Tice b4 u did not get as far in the playoffs but accomplished 10x more with less talent & less coaching staff than you ever did. A great leader looks at every individual to get the best out & encourage them. You were 2 faced from day 1 & never treated everyone equally. Claiming everything stays in house but airing your laundry during press conferences. Telling some players to "my way or highway" & u personally kiss 4's ass enuff to pick him up at airport. Team is everyone inclusive, not u choosing who and when at your whim. You got what you deserved, DONT blame it on 1 guy that pissed u off for 4 weeks, your ship was sinking LONG b4 that!!

Just remember Packer fans, when Childress interviewed here, he was supposed to have an interview in Green Bay the next day for the coaching vacancy there (that McCarthy ultimately got). If not for a rookie owner making a major hiring mistake, Chilly and the kick-ass offense could’ve been parked in Green Bay.

You’re welcome. Now shut up.

BTW

Thankm You for having such a dysfunctional franchise.

You make the Green and Gold look more superior by the minute.

You make the Green and Gold franchise worth billions wth your gross play.

lol

Here is to another Super Bowl year(The Green and Gold actually win these)

Now Viking slave go shine my Packer boots.

Shoo.......

I personally think it is Brad Childress who could be accused of making MANY poor decisions. Wasn't it HIS team that was accused of all kinds of on and off field questionables? Wasn't it Childress who had a potent offensive AND defensive team, yet the best they could do was achieve a pretty decent record?

Yes, Randy is the type of player who has the need to feel wanted, and wants to make big plays. He no longer fit into New England because they decided they wanted to go back to the style of spreading the ball out to running backs, tight ends, and many wide receivers. Randy felt unwanted and said so, and that cost him a job. Then he went to the Vikings and said he missed the Patriots, and that cost him a job with the Vikings. He went to the Titans and faded away.

Randy is wise to retire; Childress should have done the same; instead, didn't he get FIRED?

Had the Wilfs listened to me and given Leslie the job 2 years ago, the Vikings would have won it all in 09 and could potentially be the 2x defending champions.

Nope I don't sit in a bar week after week, I just sit around all day wishing I was as cool and witty as you.

I think we may have been a little PO'd at the time that he chose to sign with the vikings without even interviewing for the Packers, but once we realized what kind of coach Chilly would turn out to be - no one on the good side of the river was upset anymore.

Childress, for once, was right about Moss at least.

I don't agree with the assertion that Childress did what Moss did, but only over a longer period of time. It's true that Childress mishandles most of the situations listed. However, I will defend him on one of those, and that was the handling of Duante Culpepper.

Culpepper had just come off not only a serious knee injury, but also a six game Jekyl and Hyde season in which he was infrequently good and more often very bad. He was a human turnover machine during his six game tenure during 2005, and the main reason the team started 2-4.

Then he walks in to the Vikings front office in January 2006 and demands a raise to $10 million per year. He was rightly laughed out of the office, and subsequently the organization. Culpepper moved on, but never came close to equaling his performance while in Minnesota, and Childress made the right call getting rid of him.

That, at least, was one thing Childress handled correctly.

First of all, that man looks like his name should Ned and he should be an accountant. Second of all, he probably should have been fired after the 08 season when his 2nd round trade up couldn't perform in the playoffs.
3rd of all, top to bottom, they were the best all around team in the league in 09 and he, without a doubt, should have been fired when they didn't win the Superbowl.
Had the Wilfs listened to me and given Leslie the job 2 years ago, the Vikings would have won it all in 09 and could potentially be the 2x defending champions.
Leslie Frazier is the first real head coach the Vikings have had since Bud Grant.

Hey Chilly, how about you disrespected the whole thing that was Moss returning to Minnesota. You know, the place where he started his career, where he became a superstar, where he broke ever rookie receiving record (most of them,) where he was the face of the franchise. Childress is a control freak and the whole Moss coming back home situation makes me sick to my stomach. I’m glad Chilly is gone and I wish we had Moss back, even if it would be to have one of the greatest receivers of out time retire with the respect he deserved.
____________________________________
You're severely overlooking the part where Moss was exorcized from Minnesota for being a total prima donna douche. Sure he has talent but there's a reason he was kicked off every team he ever joined. He was on three different teams last year and was an idiot on all three.

Oh but he definitely deserved a respectful retirement....

If it weren’t for a late Adrian Peterson fumble and a ridiculous Brett Favre interception to end the 2009 NFC Championship Game...

While I will agree that the Vikings would have man handled the Colts, they lost the NFCCG fair and square. It was a close game to be sure but the loss was a culmination of many factors, not the least of which was VERY sloppy ball control...that above all else is just plain bad football, and you don't win championships playing bad football.

Childress bet that lightning would strike in the same place twice with Favre. The "all-in, all-now" directive from the team management forced him to bring in Favre in the first place. The "almost" season Favre had in 2009 was an anomoly, but Childress couldn't know that. Under any rational situation, Moss should've come in the next season and been a positive agent-of-change, but he is too much of a self-centered dickhead to do that. Plus, once Favre let it be known he didn't care for Childress (schism,) what team member wouldn't be influenced by someone with Favre's stature and begin to feel the same way? Childress had a plan for Peterson and Favre but once Favre threw that Hail Mary for the victory over San Francisco, Favre never looked to Childress again...as expected and as predicted. Favre was a mistake in more ways than one. I give Childress credit for sending Moss packing, in the face of the criticism he knew would come. It took balls to do that. He was also right about Tarvaris.....watch and see. The expectations of a starved and bitter fanbase ran this guy off and they actually think the Vikings will be better off! Still grasping at straws........

Chilly is a nice guy but not a good enough coach. He had no idea how to handle Moss and his antics. Actually, cutting him was the best thing to do but it was too late to save himself by that point. I’m just so glad Moss is gone, Favre is gone, and Frazier is here.
------------

Wrong. Chilly knows the game. The problem is he's too conservative on offense. The biggest problem is he can be abrasive with players and people in general. His interview was classic Chilly...gruff, soft-spoken but filled with biting criticism.

And the Moss cut didn't help him. It was the final straw. Too bad, because he really got the franchise going again. They went 6-10 his first season, then 8-8, 10-6, 12-4 and a loss in the NFC championship game. Then we had last year, where BF decided to play when he shouldn't have.

Chilly's record wasn't the problem as you can see...it was a bad season coupled with his enema-needing personality.
