Listen, the President's job is to do these things.
I am sure a Bears fan would rather eat glass than celibrate a Packer victory; but it's his job to greet champions, heads of other countries, and even charity organizers.
Even Reagan threw a party for the Redskins (and a pass to ricky Sanders) when we were in a recession.
Let it go, and if you can't... go to anther site!

@thephantomstranger …

Out of deference to the people who come here for football and have the good sense to go to political blogs to rant about politics, I’m not getting into a bunch of political silliness. (Although I don’t recall examining any other candidate’s school records before casting a vote ) You may vehemently disagree with the man’s policies. But no rational person could deny his intellect. Now enough of this. It’s a football blog. If I wanted to listen to this stuff, I’m smack in the middle of one of the reddest, tea-drinkingest areas in the nation. I could just walk out the front door and whistle.
____________

You started it. I made a cute joke ripping on Packer fans and you insulted my intellect. Maybe my definition of intellect differs from yours, but it takes a lot more than being able to read off a teleprompter to impress me.

@infinity if last years superbowl was a fluke, what would you call a football season filled with playing against 2nd and 3rd string qb’s. filled with very few injurie’s and a blown touchdown call to give you the win of a division game? ummm yeah that would be considered a fluke.

Funny, Cutler takes the Bears to the NFC championship game in his second year with the Bears and everyone is jumping down his throat. When was the last time the Bears had a QB worth two sh#ts?

Questioning his toughness? I went to Vanderbilt and I saw how his inadequate line got him killed nearly every game and he single handedly willed the team to win, in the SEC no less.

Obama would run the bears like he has run the country.

It’d start bad and get worse.
———————————————————
He must be running the bears then. It’s going to bad for you guys this year.

Also, you don’t know crap about politics. Stop watching Fox for your opinion. This country would be in great condition if the Republican Party wasn’t being run by TeaBaggers. You can’t get anything done if only one side is willing to compromise. The government should take a page pout of the NFL book.
___________

Kind of negative, aren't you?

It might interest you to know that the Tea Party does not run the Republican party. If they did, that ridiculous debt ceiling deal would never have passed. Every tea party representative voted against it. What you fail to understand is that compromise between two sides that disagree completely about how the country should be run will not accomplish anything good. Both sides can't be right. If one side is right and the other side is wrong, compromise is wrong. If both sides are wrong, compromise is wrong. Compromise works for a business deal, not for running a country.

By the way, the Tea Party came into existence after two years of Democrats controlling the House, Senate, and presidency. Although the Tea Party elected a lot of representatives in 2010, they still have no real power because there are still more liberal Republicans and Republicans only control the House anyway. The state of the country right now has absolutely nothing to do with the Tea Party's willingness to compromise.

You're right, Deb. I don't really know how intelligent Obama is, because he's never released any of his Occidental College records, Columbia University records, or Harvard Law School records. I guess I just assumed that he wasn't that bright because of the complete and utter failure of every one of his policies. I hate to think that he knows exactly what he's doing as he destroys the country.

Besides, I had to say that or the joke wouldn't work.
