T jack goes out for 2 drives, loses his LT and everyone is up his a$$ about sucking. Are you serious? I love fans that watch espn and then come on here to repeat everything they heard.

Oh BTW T Jack ain’t a savior he’s a band aid.
—————————
Exactly…he had no time and no open targets. I wonder how many of these people realize Seattle’s top three WRs were out of the lineup?

It is hard to argue that TJack is going to be a good QB but he will be given a chance to show if he learned something watching Favre the last two years. After all..it isn’t like he ever had a QB he could learn from before that.

___
Didn't he also have Super Bowl-winning QB Brad Johnson to learn from before Favre? Not sure about that but I think so.

You guys do realize this is only a lousy pre season game in that the primary objective is to analyze marginal players for the remaining roster once the first string is established. Second, the performance on the field is not necessarily indicative of further performance one way or the other! In other words, much like my descriptive narrative; you guys take this too seriously!

What we learned is that PFT will continue to be biased against west coast teams in their coverage. On the west coast the Chargers/Seahawks game was the televised 5 o'clock game on ESPN.

What has PFT posted about the Chargers up to this point?

1) An update that there were two touchbacks in the game.

2) One sentence in this post, "3. Chargers running back Ryan Mathews was healthy enough to play, which is a step in the right direction."

3) That PFT is so biased that they couldn't even find one article about said game to have a post about the Chargers in their Friday Morning One-Liners.

I get that you east coast writers are blinded to your bigotry but I can't believe NBC, for purely profit reasons, allows this to happen.

Shame on all of you to treat NFL fans like this.

i tell you what, he may have been going against 3rd stringers but that kid josh portis looked very good. i was impressed with his elusiveness, his decision making, his process of reading the coverage and obviously his immense athleticism. kid made some very nice throws in tight spots, but also made throws that showed he knew the coverage and hit receivers right out of their breaks.

The answer to the headline of this article ..... NOTHING. Even during a normal offseason, all 4 preseason games mean nothing. And the most meaningless preseason game is the first one, which is meant to evaluate 3rd and 4th string players. You cant learn anything from 2 series. Especially after 2 weeks of camp, and even less for the free agents.

First off, if the patroits are going to trade one of those two QBs, i think Mallett is the one to go. i think teams will worry about trading for Hoyer, but Mallett's height and potential are too much, i am still shocked that Washington passed on him in the draft and i thought he would be a good fit (accept for his mobility) in Shanahan's offense. i think Miami should attempt to trade for Mallett IF they want him too, but i think Mallett and Hoyer both remain patroits until they are free agents, i just dont know if a team wants to trade for them. i havent really heard interest in them yet, but maybe it's too early.

Tebow is a lot of fun to watch. But that unpredictability is bound to give his coaches ulcers. And how that would turn out in real games versus first team defenses who have game planned for him is a big question mark.

And in a league with so many ho-hum QBs, it's hard to believe Brady Quinn isn't going to get a second chance somewhere. Not saying he's a lock to succeed, but one season with a horrible Cleveland team doesn't seem like enough to completely write him off.

trickbunny says:

Ravens looked horrible and rusty. Flacco managed 3 points (barely- that FG squeaked in off the upright- so he came close to doing just about nothing) The receivers were non-existent. Ray Rice had a good run or two, but was mostly ineffective. Ray Lewis looked old and got punked on Celek’s TD…and Tyrod Taylor? Awful. Kid looked panicked, confused, and threw 3 INTs- don’t bother telling me it was 2, because he DID throw a 3rd one into the hands of a defender, who just happened to barely miss getting one of his feet down. Many other times, that would have been an INT, so we might as well count it

I know it’s preseason, it doesn’t mean anything, etc.- but my God, they better hope that was just first game jitters. You know, the kind that the *real* elite teams like the Patriots *didn’t* have yesterday.

--------------------------------------------------

First off, The starters played two series...TWO! The receivers are rookies going against probably the best secondary in the NFL. What more would you expect? They have had 2-weeks of NFL practice and you want to draw conclusions already? Also, Celek scored on Jameel McClain NOT Ray Lewis...get your facts straight before you make an idiotic homer post.

I wouldn't expect any team to be firing on all cylinders until week 4, especially those with a lot of rookie starters like the Ravens.

The Jags WR situation is not great, but is not dire. We have MJD at RB, Marcedes at TE, a good #2 (Mike Thomas), just acquired a good slot guy (unless Cecil Shorts is a dud in a real game). We have two unproven guys that need a chance. I think we would have gotten a WR in Rd. 2 this year, but we gave it up for Blaine. FA is not the place to find your #1. We will draft a guy if it makes sense next year. But, we sure could use him this year...

Learned a long, long time ago not to get sucked into placing much significance on preseason exhibitions games, especially the first one – but remain dubious about the Cowboys and Ravens. There just isn’t anything tangible to suggest either will be even as good as last year, let alone better.

Baltimore has to be concerned with rookie Tyrod Taylor’s status as the team’s backup quarterback. He helped put up 3 points in three quarters of action.
-----------------
Ok seriously... they're banging on Tyrod after his first preseason game ever... after two whole weeks of training camp. Yeah he threw two picks but otherwise he looked pretty decent, especially for being on a team focused on running and defense. I'm actually an Eagles fan and a Hokie alum (so I'm kinda biased), but he didn't play all that bad for a game that doesn't matter.
