BWAHAHA! You truly think this preseason game has anything to do with the Oakland and Baltimore games? That’s funny. How about a partial list of KC players that did not play: Jamal Charles, LeRon McClain, Dwayne Bowe, Steve Breaston, half the o-line, Kelly Gregg, Derrick Johnson, and on and on… And Matt Cassell made no pass attempts.

--------------------------------------------

And in their place played some 2nd and 3rd stringers.. who will have to play in the regular season... I'm not saying that the preseason means a whole lot.. and I even gave credit for Haley not game planning or anything... however, that is still 3 games in a row in the mighty house of horrors that KC has flat out looked pathetic.... and I know it's practice.. but it was also a nationally televised practice.. you would have thought pride alone would have made them at least try.....

I actually WATCHED the game and he was anything but slowing down. He made a nice jump around the back of a cronerback to grab a ball. He made an outstanding acrobatic attempt and actually caught the ball on another play, but was out of bounds. The way he showed the skill to stay with the ball was the skill of a seasoned vet, not a rookie. So watch the game. Stats dont always tell the story

bwisnasky says:

Kansas City fans can chalk it up to Haley not game planning… it being a preseason game so it doesn’t matter… whatever you want to do.. but the last 3 games in KC… this one, the playoff game, and against the Raiders, they have flat out got their butts handed to them…. If I was a fan, I might be getting a little concerned about that trend…

Thing about 610 radio in KC is they're still ass-hurt over losing a corporate partnership with the Chiefs to 810 a year or two ago, so they've gone out of their way to rebrand themselves as the "fans" station where you get the "real, unbiased" Chiefs news. Which makes sense, and I don't blame them, but that's how it works. They go out of their way to sensationalize any negative Chiefs news, and 810 will sensationalize and positive Chiefs news. The truth is somewhere in the middle.

Without commenting on the accuracy of the post, I would caution anyone against putting any value in the tweets of a couple of KC radio jocks like Nicj Wright (in this case) or Bob Fescoe (especially).

Even if Baldwin plays like crap, he's still better than any wide receiver the Chefs had last year, save for Bowe.

What about Dexter McCluster?

It’s so funny to hear chiefs fans talk about this guy like he is one of their best players just because he ran back a punt in the first game last year against the Chargers, face it chief fans, he’s just not that good.
------

I am actually a Bears fan and asked because I remember how athletic and lightning quick he is, not only from a few highlights last year but mostly from his Ole Miss days. Seems like he could be a Devin Hester / Reggie Bush / Leon Washington kind of player, valuable in the return game with occasional contributions on offense.

Baldwins struggling against press coverage vs Flowers and Carr. He's facing 2 great young CB's, and what a better way to learn to break off press then against good competition. Baldwin targeted twice 1 rec 14 yds, the other ball was thrown a mile behind him and he tipped the ball to himself over the corner's head and made an acrobatic attempt but landed outta bounds. The kids got ball skills and he'll be fine, you just bored today PFT? Did anyone watch the game on the staff, ima bet 100% no. As far as Dex Mccluster i dont think any of us think he's going to terrorize the league. They've moved him HB this season behind Jones. He's nothing more than a package guy and special teamer. He'll make some plays for us, and gives a similar speed compliment to Charles outta the backfield...

Two things all Chiefs fans know:

1. Haley's preseason depth charts(and in large part regular season as well) mean little to nothing.

2. Never take Nick Wright at face value because he's a sensationalistic moron who uses comments like this to draw in listeners to his worthless radio show.

Baldwin by all other reports has been good in camp. He started off slow because of an injury and Haley is being very cautious to start camp this year. Also, as anyone who actually watched him play Friday would know, he nearly made the play of the week against the Bucs if he had not run out of room on the sidelines.

Baldwin was a big reach by the Chiefs. I was surprised Pioli made such a pick. There were numerous questions regarding Baldwin's work ethic and maturity. They had a pretty solid draft after taking Baldwin, but that pick still puzzles me. Good teams don't draft for need, they draft for the best talent available regardless of position or need.
