Raiders sign safeties Bullocks, Giordano

After losing safety Hiram Eugene to a season-ending hip injury in the preseason opener, the Raiders have picked up a couple of safeties to replace him.

Oakland announced the signing of free agent safeties Josh Bullocks and Matt Giordano today.

Bullocks was selected by the Saints in the second round of the 2005 NFL draft, No. 40 overall, and was a starter for his first three years in New Orleans before the Saints phased him out of the defense in 2008. Bullocks has played for the Bears the last two years.

Giordano was selected by the Colts in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL draft, and in Indianapolis he showed that he’s one of the league’s fastest players. (Al Davis will like that.) He played for the Packers in 2009 and the Saints in 2010.
