How dare the Bears look at a former 1st round pick for little money! (sarcasm font)

I remember hearing the up and coming lions talk after they luckily won 7 games in 07. I don’t remember how 08 turned out for them though…

Talk all the crap you want, Cutler still passed for almost 400 yards on the Lions last year in week one, and why is anyone but Bears and Bills fan actually commenting in here?

Hey Simple, why not wait till your team does something worth while to trash talk. The Lions have been up and coming for 40 years. “If” they can produce this season then you can spew whatever idiotic and insanely grandiose hopes you may have for your team. A winning season would be a success for Detroit. Anything more is like hitting the flipping lotto. As of now your just paper lions, like every other team is during the bloody preseason. If history proves anything, the Lions will find a way to fail, hopefully I’m wrong because I’d love see the NFCN be the strongest division in football. That kind of competition can only help.

I can hardly wait for week 5. LOL….You Bears fans don’t have any idea how bad your team actually is. The Lions are an up and coming team. Your team just gave up 9 sacks to the friggin Bills. Preseason or not, that is utterly pathetic. It doesn’t even matter if Fairley is playing or not, Cutler may have his season end that day. Then all you making fun of how Stafford hasn’t stayed healthy can get a taste of your own medicine.

I might get to see one of the biggest blow outs of the year live from Ford Field. And the Bears aren’t going to be happy at the end of it. Mark it down and remember I said it. The countdown to your teams implosion started in Preseason week #1 and will continue. Suck it up fighting with the Vikings at the basement.

When I saw Maybin at the Bills training camp in Pittsford, he was constantly running his hands over his hair. I think he was too worried about how he looked than how he played.

One thing I did see at training camp was that he could catch a football. Maybe the Bears would be interested in turning him into a TE? I know it was considered here in Buffalo at one point(changing his position) but, Gailey hardly uses TE’s in his offense.

For all those Bears apologists talking up the idea of picking up Maybin, where are you going to play him? He weights 228 lbs and lacks any lower body bulk. He weighs about as much as a strong safety. You can’t line him up at DE with that lack of size and strength. You can’t line him out at LB, considering he lacked the fluidity to play LB in a 3-4, yet alone in a Tampa 4-3 where he’d be expected to cover.

he would get completely manhandled when he weighed 250. i’m a bills fan and got to see him in camp this year and last. he is absolutely terrible. he’s afraid of contact and can’t move if you get a hand on him. there’s a reason he couldn’t get on the field for one of the worst defensive teams in the league. good luck chicago

First off, Mavajo mocking Gaines Adams, really you scumbag?!? The guy died, and was showing promise before his death. Real class move ya touchhole.

Second, To address the”losses” during FA, come on really? Olsen is way overrated and is completely 1 dimensional. And he’s serviceable at best. As for Olin, man I lived the guy buy he has slipped FAR from his pro bowl form. I’m fine with Picking up Spencer (who I think will eventually start at C with Garza swinging back to RG unless LL really steps it up) Oh and what other lineman would any of you gurus h e picked up. The Bears made a play for Willie Colon but he wanted to stay in Pitt.

Finally, what’s the issue with picking up a few talented albeit to this point underwhelming players. Omobi is going to be in a rotation behind Melton and Adams. Gholston showed some glimpse on Saturday and could fill in as a situational pass rusher. Maybin has speed but lacks bulk. Bulk we can do, get the training staff on his ass and we’ll see. He’s a 4-3 DE who ever thinks he’ll be a LB with Chi is crazy. If he can put in mass and perform great. If not, and this goes for them all, cut him and you didn’t really lose anything in the process.

This website is getting quite old with their constant Bear bashing. The Bears are taking chances on past players that haven’t lived up to their potential, but are they being overpaid??? If they don’t work out, so what.

The Bears did reach the NFC Championship game last year. Logic states they were only a few pieces short. As a Bears fan, am I happy with what pieces they decided to take? No, not all of them.

However, this site and people that comment act like the Bears haven’t made the playoffs in over 10 years.

Why don’t you go drag up another sorry a$$ Cutler bashing story so all your drones can make “funny” stupid ass comments.

I guess if we picked up an ex-WVU player, we might actually get some positive press.

So the Bears let go of Kreutz and Olsen who were doing nothing for them and the Saints and Panthers some how got great players because they were former 1st rounders but this would be a bad move even though they could sign him for a lot less money?

How did Kreutz suddenly become the bets pick up of the off season even though he signed for half of what the Bears offered him?
His bluff and demand of more money for another bad season cost him his starting job and $2 million a year so who was the idiot here?

Yep, a 228 lb DE – He doesn’t fit anywhere and doesn’t have the speed or football instinct to convert to LB. The Bills tried that too. To the poster who said he was juicing at PSU – I have to agree something is very fishy that he can’t get his weight up to what it was in college.
