Sounds like they chose to give him the less serious ‘local hero’ charges. For most folks these charges would be “Reckless driving” and “Leaving the scene of an accident with property damage”. He dodged the DUI on a technicality, so let’s hope he gets the message and straightens up.

So according to your logic the steelers would still be responsible for the legal infractions of Plaxico Burruss and Santonio Holmes ???

Where do you get from this article that he admitted involvement BEFORE they arrested him? This states that when he was handcuffed and pissed off, he shouted “I did it!”, probably sarcastically. I suppose you’re one of those people who likes to smirk, “Well if you aren’t doing anything wrong, you don’t have to worry about it.” Just wait until the government makes something that you do illegal, then you will be wailing and moaning about the loss of your 1st and 4th amendment rights.

Btw, can anyone confirm that police actually had the license plate number of the car and positively identified Lewis driving the car? If they can’t prove reckless driving and aren’t charging him with DUI, this whole thing falls apart because they had no reason to arrest him IN HIS HOME in the first place. Last I checked, automakers still manufacture more than one car of each model and make, and police still had a constitutional obligation to confirm an actual crime before arresting someone. I’m not defending drunk driving here, but I am defending speaking out against unreasonable searches and seizures.

that’s all it takes in any case, one person accusing you of a crime. think about it and you’ll realize that’s true. how many accuser’s were there in the duke lacrosse rape case?
