GREAT point. I think, though, that Philly fans understand that Michael Vick is essentially a mercenary. Most of us, believe it or not, aren’t happy with him as a man. I think that he did really deplorable things. However, he may be the most dynamic QB in the game today.

So it’s been and will continue to be a marriage of convenience. We both want the same thing, a SB win. I’m just not seeing people getting too upset about that comment, though maybe they should.

That’s true, the league now has a vested interest in assuring that Vick at least appears to be clean. You can bet any trouble he causes will be swept under the rug as quickly as possible. That’;s what happened with the Patriots cheating scandal. The NFL can’t afford those kinds of black eyes.

You would have made Mike Vick the starter of your team. Your coaches wouldn’t have developed him like Reid and Morninwheg to be a more complete QB. You would have just thrown him in there, said “Go scramble for some TDs” and you would have had a slightly better losing season.”

Vick had the choice: Short-term gain versus long-term gain. The cards fell perfectly for him in Philly, but there was no guarantee he’d be the starter. Ever.

Also: Philly doesn’t mind being the villains of the NFL. Great, we have a dog killer QB — Eff you, you don’t like our fans or our city anyway. Sorry, Buffalo, I just don’t see your team surviving the PR Vick blitz out of prison. If Vick had struggled or failed, as he probably would have in Buffalo — do you realize how insanely negative the media would have been to him, your team, and your city?

Philly can take that gamble, because we’re hated anyway. I doubt Buffalo could.

Wow, you are a moron. It was because he would have started in Buffalo or Cincy. Go back to licking windows, stupid.

Goodell has made it clear that his main goal is marketing. And the more mistakes he makes likes this, the more it damages his credibility when he talks about things like player safety; inegrity; a fair partnership with players; honouring and supporting past players; not carrying the NCAA’s laundry; etc.

By getting himself mixed up in a scandal like this, he has managed to lead credence to the voices that say things like, “The discipline policy isn’t about protecting players, it’s about protecting the image of the league.”

I suppose Goodell’s next move is to suspend himself. Because don’t look now, Rog, but your conduct has turned YOU into a liability for “integrity of the shield.”

Goddell should be fired for the crimes hes committed against football. Thurman is right this should be investigated and Vick should be asked under oath if Goddell urged him one way or the other.

Eagle fans should be pissed. This isnt what you should hear from your starting QB. For example Brees was courted by Miami and Nola and with Nola being just months removed from Hurricane Katrina the best option hands down would have been Miami. Nick Saban didn’t trust Brees’ shoulder and that sent him to Nola. As much as I love Brees and as much as he does for my city I know that had he been given the keys to the franchise in South Beach he wouldnt have even thought twice about it. He never says that and all he does is praise New Orleans for his second chance, which is exactly what Vick should do. He should be licking the crumbs off the dirty streets of Philly for being given what they gave to him. They gave the keys of a winning franchise to him pretty much fresh out of Prison. He should be saying THANK YOU Philly… not “I didnt wanna come here!” I see where hes going with it but you just dont even go that road.

If my last name was Tisch, Mara, Jones, or Snyder, I’d be very wealthy, and a little curious as to what exactly transpired.

Although it is a secret society of 32 men, so they prob said send Vick to Philly so the Bills flounder and we can move them to LA and all receive the fruits of profit sharing.

Another thought however is. Vick was a top 15 NFL QB when he left for his federally funded vacation, there was no way anyone would know he’d come back as a Top 5 after Andy Reid’s tutelage.

Who knows, all we do know is that it stinks.

Some problems with your conspiracy theory. Bills aren’t going to L.A. The terms of their lease doesn’t really allow them to make that kind of move easily. The Chargers are much more likely to be making the trip. Also, Vick wasn’t good when he came back to the NFL, so it’s not like sending him to Buffalo to be the starter would have worked out. If anything, it would have killed his comeback before it really had a chance to happen.

Reading is fundamental my man. I said Vick left as a Top 15 and nobody knew he’d be this great when he came back. Obviously Andy coached him up, but Chan Gailey is no slouch.

2nd The Bills lease is up in 2 yrs, and as far as I know, no ground has been broken in LA and stadiums generally take 2 – 3 yrs to build. http://www.erie.gov/billslease/stadium.phtml <– bills stadium lease terms. While the Bills have a rabid fan base who supports them whole heartedly, the NFL is about $$$$ if they think they are worth 1 more dollar in LA, they'd find a way to move them. If I were a Bills fan I'd hope Ralph Wilson keeps on keepin on.

It would turn into an anti trust case. Technically they are a monopoly and this would be “fixing” their own game in an unfair way to fans and anyone else who spends money on any other team but the eagles.

Goodell is a buffoon..the man suspends a player for 5 games before signed his first professional contract…Pryor has not COMMITTED ONE ACT IN THE NFL…good or bad…but he’s suspended for 5 games??!!?? That is lunacy and borderline criminal.

How do you suspend a player that’s not even apart of the NFL yet…Goodell is gonna fall because he’s a total buffoon…the only question is will he fall before severely damaging the credibility of the NFL.
