Yea rice didnt deserve the monster contract since he had only one good season, but the people who get mad that he took more money to leave are seriously dilusional and jealous,be real people if u were workin for someone makin four mil a yr and its contract time and ur same place offers u six to stay but someone else offered u 11 mil would u really considering staying???? All of u people are the same hipocrits who dont leave a waiter a ten percent tip cause u dont wanna lose more money…in a nutshell Everything!!! Is about money in this world and history and peoples actions prove it,even us average joes…so sidney u didnt deaerve it but id of done the same thing,GET PAID while u can,the rest of u hipocrits learn to tip better!!
===================================

It's not about being mad or jealous. It's calling Sidney out on saying the Vikings didn't make him feel wanted here. He was fun to watch, seemed like a good guy. That's why it was a little confusing when he pulled his hip surgery stunt & now complains his employer isn't offering more money than the other 31 teams bidding for him. Wait, correction, 1 other team that is taking a chance at paying him a lot of money.

......you guys bash Favre after he was the guy that brought your team from terrible to a playoff contender year after year.

No, we bash Favre for his self-centered egomaniacal behavior while he orchestrated his own exit out of Green Bay. And Ron Wolf brought the team back to life, not Favre. There was a string of NFL starters (too numerous to list) that came through Green Bay during the reign of SpongeFavre NoPants, and went on to very good careers elsewhere. Any one of them could have directed the Wolf-built team, but we'll never know. Yes, Favre was good and we appreciate him, but he's the reason he'll never get a 25'0" tall bronze statue next to Vince and Curly, not us, and not the Packers.

-----------------------------------
You want to show me where one person said Rice isn't good? That's not the case. We are saying he was overpaid for someone that had one good season. I can understand if there weren't many WRs to choose from but this year had plenty of WR talent.

The difference is you guys bash Favre after he was the guy that brought your team from terrible to a playoff contender year after year. Did Rice do that for the Vikings? Nope! So your comparison is like comparing a golf ball to a basketball where the only similarity is the fact they are both round.

The vikings made their choice. They kept Bernard Berrian instead of Rice.

Since they are both Rosenhaus clients this is the best outcome for Rosenhaus.

Perhaps Berrian can get his first 1000 yard receiving season; with McNabb, and rookie Ponder.

The vikings made the right choice.

Okay, where do I start.....

Look, dude, just like reality says that you take money over loyalty, reality also says that somebody who writes or talks like an idiot will be considered an idiot. Don't worry, we understood what you said, but even the ones who agree with you still think you're an idiot because of the way that you wrote it. People who post the way you just did will not be taken as seriously as those who write properly. Do you need an example? Look at the difference between these two sentences...

Maybe you're lazy, maybe you just don't care, or maybe you have no concept of correct sentence structure, but regardless, you appear to be severely undereducated, and therefore your opinion will carry little weight with most people.

Thanks for the laugh. He's going to have a huge year, huh? With TJack throwing to him? That has to be one of the funniest jokes I've heard in a long time. Just so you know TJack hasn't thrown for more than 246 yards in a game. In fact, he's only reached the 200 mark less than a handful of times.

So unless at least half his passing yards go to Rice I don't see him having a "huge" year.

I was pointing out that Frazier seems to be a little different than Childress/Tice/Denny in that he expects a certain level of professionalism. It was a compliment.

As far as them being a joke of an organization, I mean come on, do we even need to get into that?

Just trying to figure it out because it's confusing to me. I know that Childress, Tice, and Denny were buffoons as coaches and there are certain isolated incidents you can point to that don't put the organization in a good light, but there have certainly been enough positive incidents that the "complete joke of an organization" label doesn't seem to fit. I don't see how you could find anything to compliment about a complete joke of an organization. So it's a paradox.

That has to be the stupidest answer Sidney. First of all, the Vikings weren't allowed to contact you due to the lockout. 2nd, you know they had a salary cap issue. So it wasn't that they didn't want you. It was more of they couldn't afford your asking price. They certainly weren't going to pay you what Seattle did even if they had the cap space. You were highly overpaid.

I'm not saying Rice is bad at all but $41M for a player that had one good season out of 4, really??? I'm glad Seattle overpaid Sidney and TJack. Whereas the Vikings were able to land McNabb for just $1M more than TJack. Who would you pick?

Well, Sidney enjoy your time in Seattle. The fact is until they get a QB to get you the ball your stats will continue to decline and people will look at you as a 1 year wonder. It's ashame because I think you're more talented than that.

We all know the Vikings are a complete joke of an organization, but they got this one right.

Hard to admit, but the Frazier regime seems to want to hold players accountable, and takes character into consideration. After Rice’s hip surgery stunt last year, it showed what kind of guy he is. Props to the Vikings organization for letting him walk.

vikingsfan4life hit it right on the head. I'm from Minnesota and pay real close attention to NFL news and stories and support my home team. We didn't hear a thing about Rice having a hip issue until right before it was time to have surgery. He and his scumbag agent pulled that crap on the vikes on purpose. And I'm not gonna blame Rice and say that since he wasn't on the field was the reason for a poor season there were a lot of issues. Since the Seahawks were willing to overpay for a receiver who had a good season with a soon to be hall of famer that's their call but did they check out his season while Jackson was under center? Mediocre at best. Signing with the Seahawks wasn't because of being on a better team it was about money because even the vikes QB situation right now is still better than the Seahawks' QB roster.

Vikings did the right thing for the team, And that is more than what you did, Rice. I would have not overpaid for you either. You didn't prove anything last year except how you can screw over a team at the last minute. Not taking care of surgery when needed. So the Vikings didn't know if the injury was fixed or left to long. And you sure didn't show a hundred percent when you went back in. No, If you would have shown a little more loyalty instead of working it so you couldn't get hurt before your next contract, They probably would have gone farther. No smart team would take a chance on what you have shown in 2010. Blame the Vikings, I THINK NOT!!!

vahawker called it

Branch was actually a productive player for the Seahawks when he was healthy, which wasn't very often.

Housh was grotesquely overpaid for a guy already in his 30s who will never be more than a #2 wideout. A lot of 'Hawk fans were scratching their heads after that one.

There's a reason Tim "Timmay" Ruskell was fired later that year. The complete and utter deterioration of the offensive line, sacrificing of valuable draft picks to move up a few slots, and overpaying for "talent" like Houshmanzadeh were among the reasons.

Lots of good QBs available in the draft next year, and if Jackson or Whitehurst don't pan out, Seattle will likely have a very high pick with which to land one of them.

Why not just say "the Seahawks offered me more money"?

With all due respect to Rice, who I think is going to have a very good career, he's only had one good year out of four so far.

He has great potential but the guy can't seem to stay on the field. For his sake, I hope that changes, but I won't be surprised if he ends up hurt again this year. To make matters worse, he's on a team where Tarvaris Jackson is the starter. Jackson couldn't find Rice to save his life in Minnesota, and my guess is he'll have the same trouble in Seattle.
