The true Dream Team in Philly!

Vick was terrible….

Young was terrible (which is the real story of this game as he was out to prove he’s a strong backup when Vick gets hurt)

Kafka was strong…

Philly is in trouble….

The fans are the ones that have gotten over the top with it….kind of like MN’s fans when they seriously thought Burnt Favre was going to repeat his stellar season and end it on a Super Bowl TD instead of a season ending pick for the 4th straight time in 4 years.

I would’ve rather kept Kolb but I have faith that Reid and company will have Vick ready for week

Vick has NEVER been a pocket passer. Not at Virgina Tech, not in Atlanta, and not while incarcerated in the big house. It looked to me like Reid is trying to reign in Vick and make him a pocket thrower and keep him from running….which may or may not be good news.
He’ll be broke in half by mid-season if he runs like he used to, and he’ll be the new leader in INT’s if he stays in the pocket.

First chink in the “dream team” armor and the weakest link in the chain.

Cunningham set the world on fire in ’98, after coming off the bench for an injured Brad Johnson. RC played lights out all year (until the NFC Championship game anyway), signed a huge contract extension, began 1999 as the starter and played so poorly, he was benched in favor of Jeff George, just six games into his new five year contract. He was released after the ’99 season.

I think Philly took a huge chance trading away Kolb. If Vick falters, this dream team won’t make the playoffs.

I have been saying all along convick is a one trick pony and the trick is getting old

Vick really needs to improve his defensive reads. It’s a reminder that he has gotten this far mainly by his athletic talents rather than his decision making ability. He will make average defenses look bad but will struggle with his reads against good blitzing defenses.

I would’ve rather kept Kolb but I have faith that Reid and company will have Vick ready for week 1.

Funny how Eagles fans are downplaying it. If it were the Cowboys, Skins or Giants, they’d be first doomsayers out there. That’s why it’s wise to shut up and let the season play out instead of self-proclaiming titles.

The “self-proclaiming titles” thing is actually pretty funny because the Eagles players are not walking around calling themselves the “dream team”. The announcers during the game called the eagles “the self-proclaimed dream team” but really, one player (Young) before his first practice said that before his first practice with the team. Since then not a single player or coach has called the Eagles “A Dream Team”. In fact they have gone out of their way to say that they don’t think of themselves that way.

“(Vick’s form wasn’t ideal, but he was effective.)” Um what?

His tackle of Polamalu after the INT he threw.

With all the new acquisitions you can’t expect to just plug them in and have instant cohesiveness. Hopefully it gets turned around in time for the regular season.

Last week the Eagles defensive has 8 sacks and runs rough shot on the Ravens and they’re the “Dream Team”. Also, Vick takes them right downfield for a TD and he’s awesome.

This week, the Eagles defense gets killed and Vick throws three picks and they stink, so the “Dream Team” is a bust.

It’s the preseason in a shortened offseason. Stop putting a spin on everything.

When real games start being played it’s time to care.

Jesus this is annoying, both with the positive and negative hype.

This game was brutal. Pitt played very well and the Eagles looked sloppy. However, I did notice that Pitt was really trying extra hard because of last week and i noticed the Eagles trying a lot of new stuff on D like playing with the three corners on the field a lot. Don’t get me wrong the Eagles did not do well running any plays. As far as vick and ints. I could care less its the preseason and the guy is going to try throws he wouldn’t do in the regular season to try and give guys a chance to make a play. Vick still does need to work on his Blitz reads before the snap. I am sure Andy will help cover that up with a lil bit more of a running game since they have two strong backs to run with. I was still impressed with the D line in getting to the QB, Don’t forget Ben Rapistburg’s one greatest quality is being able to move around in the pocket and negate sure sacks.

I still think the Eagles and Falcons are the Best teams in the NFC and i still think the PAts, Ravens, and the steelers are the best in the AFC. My guess is the one of those teams that stays healthiest will win the superbowl.

But we all know he’s overrated. Remember the Super Bowl when James Farrior (scratch that) Troy Polamalu got beat by Greg Jennings?
