Your O line is in shambles, was last year, is still this year after getting rid of some vets like Olin.
Knox (not a true #1), Hester (not really a WR, can catch but better at special teams, and Williams, we will see but dont hold your breath). The bears missed the bus on getting some more WR pick ups in FA.
Its not a factor of the Bears getting rid of Forte but Forte saying F.U. Chicago cause you wont pay my ass what i arguably deserve.
Coaches….Mike Tice in particular, see O line play from last year and their FA upgrades,…wait downgrades….seriously you shipped Olin away.

The Bears got lucky in week 1 and that makes the awful. You’re right, because no other team has EVER been lucky before. And all those other wins last season? Well, I guess that was all “luck” too. Yes the Bears got whooped in the NFCCG, and rightfully so. But if you want to talk about luck, how about the Pack’s opposing QB going out. Now that seems significantly more lucky than some bs game one against the Lions.

Yes. Cutler is a quiter. So are all the other quarterbacks that endured torn ligaments and bad injuries. What a bunch of losers.

Now I may not be as good at math as you, but moving from the 19th ranked D in 2009 to the 4th in 2010 seems like an improvement. Yes, Urlacher is aging. But 96 solo tackles, 2 FF, 1 int and 4 sacks seem pretty good for a an old man in 2010. Lemmie guess, Ray Lewis is awful too?

Bears O-Line is horrendous. No argument there.

No argument with the receiving core. They will bury Knox on the depth chart under a slow and “out of shape” Roy Williams.

I doubt Forte will say “FU” to Chicago. The Bears management actually tends to reward their players, and if anything hold on to them too long! Forte is under contract and is the 2nd best RB in the NFC North by a mile. He will be locked up.

Nobody will want to touch Martz after the oncoming disaster that will probably be 2011-2012. And where is Tice going to go? Didn’t you just say the O-Line is in shambles? Are “shamble coaches” a hot commodity in the NFL? (Please, don’t answer that question Al Davis.)

If you’ve ever seen Forte play you’d understand he does a lot more for his offense than Chris Johnson. Sure Johnson had a great season 1 time, but Forte’s overall play is much better than Johnson’s.

SEC fans are insulted by your statement. Washington has been more on par with the WAC or Sun Belt.

Forte is what you would call a “feature back”, Johnson is what is called a “change of pace back”. That being said Forte can run block better, he can catch better, run better routes, he can move the pile better. CJ might run faster and quicker, but overall isn’t as good all around player.

Two things to note about this astute observation:

1) Niether Johnson nor Peterson are available to the Bears. But then again, Forte isn’t asking for elite player money. Just more than he’s getting now.

2) Forte is head and shoulders above anything the Bears have had since Sweetness retired.

They need to pay him. They have a ton of cash under the cap. Might as well make their RB happy.

This has been a pathetic offseason. Maybe they are expecting Forte to get hurt behind that garbage O line so it wont matter anyway… Unreal.

Unfortunately, running backs are more disposable in the eyes of teams, than they used to be.

This is also just part of the negotiation process.
