Derrick Mason, Mark Brunell shaken up at Jets practice

We’ll give Jets fans the bad news first.

Wideout Derrick Mason left practice on Friday while being attended to by a doctor. After disappearing for a little while, he did return to watch practice from the sideline. That indicates it may not be a major issue.

Quarterback Mark Brunell might be worse off. He slowly limped off to the locker room after pulling up lame during a play.

Now, the good news: Plaxico Burress caught a long touchdown pass at practice. He’s practiced without incident since finally practicing fully on Wednesday. Burress and the rest of the Jets starters are expected to play into the second quarter Sunday night against the Bengals.

The Jets’ aging receivers will be a big sub-plot to their team this year. We have our doubts that the team upgraded when they traded in Braylon Edwards and Jerricho Cotchery for Burress and Mason.
