Thanks. Steltz is a lot more atheletic than people give him credit for. The game in 09 when yall beat the Vikings he played really good, even in coverage. I graduated in 04 in H.S. with him so im definitely impartial but dude can play ball. What he did against Jesuit (our High School rival) was one of the most amazing things ive ever seen one person ever do on the football field in my life. I hope he gets a shot somewhere if not with the bears.

Steltz is pretty good against the run and a hard hitter, but he can get lost in pass coverage. Maybe the Cover-2 transition???

I don’t think the Bears are looking for a starter, they are looking for depth. We have a history of injured safeties. You can never have too many.

Because the 49′ers tampered with a Bears player, they now won’t accept a Bears offer for one of their own? Why not? If it isn’t good enough, it’s not good enough, having nothing to do with the tampering history.

If you’re saying that the loss of draft picks in the past makes the 49′ers want to recoup them in *this* deal, that’s one thing, otherwise, it’s just an exercise in really, really, rotten logic.

And I won’t even address the contention that the 49′ers’ view of the Bears’ offer for Mays is being colored by what the Bears did (or didn’t do) in last April’s draft — to a different team.

The offer made is either good enough, or it isn’t. Leave out the poorly-thought-out Freudian analysis.
