Patriots receiver Chad Ochocinco has offered to reimburse Buccaneers linebacker Mason Foster if Foster is fined for his hit on Ochocinco in Thursday night’s game.

If Ochocinco follows through on that offer, he could be fined himself.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed to PFT that it is not permitted for a player to pay another player’s fine. Anyone who’s fined by the NFL has to pay the fine himself, and no kind of reimbursement, by anyone, is allowed.

So we’ll see next week if the NFL fines Foster for the hit, which drew an unnecessary roughness penalty. And then if Ochocinco follows through on his promise, we’ll see how much the NFL fines a player for paying the fine of another player.
