What are we coming to? After watching videos of fights in the stands and the parking lots, what are we coming to? Why do we have posters on here telling us “That’s what happens when you wear your gear into enemy territory.” What? At what point is it acceptable to attack someone over clothing? And why have we become such a nation of videographers? There’s a fight going on in the parking lot and instead of behaving as responsible citizens and adults should and taking steps to quell the hostility, we all have to grab our cell phones and get the footage. What is going on? Do you think that Spielberg is going to call you up and offer you a job because he loved the way you framed the shot? Take some action. Step in as a group and grab the combatants and stop this nonsense. It continues to happen because we, as a society, permit it to happen. When will society decide that it’s had enough? Would we rather curb the behavior or live with it? Put me down for the former.

They still exist in most other places outside of California and Philly.

And people, enough with the “Illegal” or “Mexican” assumptions that truly display your ignorance along with an embedded fear, because last time I checked, a coward like the shooter can be anyone, of any ethnicity. And you people that do not have anything positive to say about California must have a jealousy complex. Its bad everywhere. Go ahead and name your “beautiful” state and we can easily find parts that are just as run down, if not mimic the California lifestyle. Grow up. You’re 100% correct. The NFL got caught thinking this sort of behavior only happened at Dodger games. What we’re starting to see is soccer hooliganism beginning to make its way over here.

Tickets go up constantly…it’s no longer a real family alternative to see more than maybe one or two NFL games a year. You either get the rich/corporate sponsors who don’t give a crap and show up late and leave early, or you get the rabid fans whose entire identity it wrapped up in the team. (I know there is an in-between these extremes, but that group shrinks with every price increase. Don’t tell me that you’re not watching more games on TV now that the recession is still on.) The NFL says “Charge what the market will bear.” Well, they’d better be prepared to deal with that market.

The last game I went to, I personally saw 9 people cuffed up, some guy pissing in the corner of the bathroom, drunk or delusional people screaming profanity at the opposing team (like it makes a difference), and several fights. The NFL cannot deny this is a problem. They should count the number of Parole Agents, Probation Officers, and Oakland Police Officers at the game if they think this is not serious.

It’s a shame I cannot go see the team I like because of all the derilicts running around with no shame, character or self respect. I understand there are many who attend the game who are not as those described above, but it only takes a handfull of hulligans to ruin your experience and who in their right mind would subject their family to such an environment.

The NFL and the owners really need to clean things up. Until then, I will just stay at home and watch on TV.

After 27 years of military service I found that there were many folks like this. They had a sense of superiority over their peers and appointed superiors. They believed that they were smarter and better than everyone else and were shocked that no one agreed with them. In the matter of actually performing they were woefully inadequate and would blame everything and everybody for their professional and personal failures.

A common trait which you evidence here:

Well yes of course the entire NFL is a lesser place because you don’t attend games.

So why did this story make you think of that story? Probably because it is giving you a chance to proclaim your superiority over all the inferior peoples of the world, once again.

Other reasons – cost of tickets, cost of food, cost of drinks, cost of souvenirs, cost of transportation to get there, cost to park, waiting in traffic after the game, etc.

What to do?

1) Buy a 6-pack of good beer $10
2) Bag of chips or whatever $3
3) Getting up to take a leak whenever – PRICELESS!!
4) Steak or whatever – $12
5) Getting up to take (another) leak whenever – PRICELESS!!!
