Caleb King, the running back from Georgia who wasn’t selected in today’s supplemental draft, is heading to Minnesota.

King’s agent Kevin Conner told Zach Klein of WSB in Atlanta, “Caleb had interest from 10-15 teams and is excited to be going to the Minnesota Vikings.”

King was the Bulldogs’ second-leading rusher each of the past three seasons but was arrested and suspended during the 2010 season and was ruled academically ineligible for the 2011 season.

The Vikings will have less than two weeks to evaluate King before deciding on September 3 whether he deserves a spot on their 53-man roster.

Can he play left tackle because the Vikes need one.

  2. cusoman says: Aug 22, 2011 6:21 PM

No way he makes the roster.

  3. trbowman says: Aug 22, 2011 6:28 PM

Doubt he makes the team, he and Tristan Davis are probably competing for a PS spot.

So if you get arrested twice and fail out of school, your eligible for the supplemental draft. But if you sell memorabilia in exchange for tattoos you are forced to serve a suspension. Sounds fair to me.

15 teams interested and not one willing to use a 7th round pick today to keep him from the other 14 teams?

Sounds a little “agenty” to me.

i dont know if he can make the team and if he does he wont get much Playing time, IF 15 teams were interested why go to a team that has Peterson and Toby Gerhart as the backup???

15 teams and he went with the Vikings? Good lord, were 10 or 11 of the 15 in the Arena league/UFL? How is MIN an attractive prospect — or at least, how are there 14 worse places to be?

@valman61…It just goes to show you that the NFL is more interested in letting their “employees” commit crimes against society than crimes against the establishment.

With all the teams that have RB injuries already, he picked the wrong team. Very, very small chance he makes it over Gerhart and Booker, and absolutely no chance they keep 4 RB’s. Practice squad may be a possibility.

Sounds like a real winner. He’ll be cut and catch on with the Bengals.

classic Vikes pickup. I wonder what soon-to-be-infamous scandal he’ll bring to the Purple.

With that name I’m guessing you’re an Emmit Smith fan but I really hope you’re not a Cowboys fan trash talking the Vikings. I mean I understand why you would be envious to the Vikes after the last two years they ended Dallas’ season in both years; 2009 a embarasing 34-3 playoff blowout on national t.v, and in 2010 a must win game putting Dallas to 1-4…But yeah you’re right, Minnesota is not an “attractive prospect” I’m guessing a team like Dallas is after getting smoked 34-3 and choking year in and year out..

Remember when the Packers slaughtered the Vikings 31-3 at the Metrodump? I LOLed. Go Pack Go!

wow, not the sharpest tool in the shed….vikings already got AP. and the kid from stanford…i guess he does not want to go to a team where he has a chance to make roster.

    Shuddap, all of ya.

  17. christinamer says: Aug 22, 2011 9:45 PM

The only reason they picked him up is because Gerhart and Asiata are nursing small injuries and they are short at RB. He will not make it on the 53, no way, no how.

Remember when the Vikings vs Packers historical record was 45-49-1?!?! I do, because that’s what it is now. Both teams have beat each other pretty equally, blind fanboy.

Remember when your Lord and savior Hall of Fame QB Brett Favre said F U to your franchise and joined the Vikes just to beat the pack into the dirt? SKOL

“Can he play left tackle because the Vikes need one.”

Does Adrian Peterson needs an offensive line?

Remember when you built that billboard begging him to comeback, then the vikings promptly choked?
    “,..skol “(sound of a chokers)
31-3 is a bit more of a lopsided whoopin’ then 30-23

Remember when the vikings hoisted that Lomardi trop….oops….bad example.

At least you have that head to head record to hitch your wagon to!

    See you in SoCal!
