Good post. Setting the record straight is good. Eagle fans always think they own something or somebody, whether it be Santa Claus, the title of most cynical and butt-hurt fans, best cheesesteaks ( I will give them that one), or the “almost team” for the last 10 years (I will give them that one too).

Dream team fans, bring it on. If your team “owns” the Cowboys, why don’t you have your team show up twice this year and demonstrate it. Not only that, how about demonstrating winning a SB. I won’t crown your arsses (Thanks, Dennis Green) just because you look good on paper. No pro team is scared of a paper tiger.

Um excuse me, but the Cowboys are 9-12 against the Eagles over the last decade, including playoffs. Simple math will tell you that the Eagles have the edge but I wouldn’t exactly call the Cowboys “owned” by them… especially since the Cowboys have won 4 of the last 5 games… including the playoff game.

Now if you want to talk all-time, the Cowboys are 56-44 against the Eagles along with a 3-1 playoff record against them. Never ever forget that the Eagles are one of the loser franchises with an all-time losing record (509-541-26, or .485) and the Cowboys have the second highest winning percentage of all time at (.576, 0.003 behind the Bears).

Aim high, Eagles!

Since the Eagles looked like absolute crap against the Steelers, all this backtracking is now taking place. At least Andy Reid was honest – he said “we all stunk”. The “dream team” label has already stuck. No use in trying to weasel out of it now, Vince.

The Cowboys were called America’s team by one announcer in 1978, and it has stuck ever since. The Eagle and 4skin fans haven’t forgotten it and will never let the Cowboys live it down. However, since then, the Cowboys have won multiple SB’s. What have the Eagles done? ZERO SB’s, and a 4skin-like signing of FA’s this offseason. Let’s see how it all translates on the field this season. I doubt it is what the Eagle fans think it will be come January.

The Eagles will disappoint again. They may go 12-4, or even better, but they won’ win the SB, and the Lombardi will elude them once again. Some Eagle fans are fine with throwing around playoff wins, NFC East titles, regular season wins against division foes, etc. You can have all of that. What you need to do to earn any respect is win a SB. Period. Dream team? Nahhh. Just a team dreaming. Let’s see if the Eagles can prove me wrong.

There is too much competition and talent in the NFC alone. GB is getting very little press, and they have to love that. They are still the team to beat in the NFC, and will be very tough.

Are you under the impression that they’ve been some kinda really successful franchise or something?

Vince doesn’t speak well but I did watch his interview unlike 90% of the people here and the media completely blew up the term Dream Team.

My favorite guys are the Tennessee fans… Go check out their boards and forums… They are starting to turn on Chris Johnson now, saying they don’t need him… God, with CJ playing or not, that team is going to be terrible this season…

The most ignorant fan base in terms of football knowledge, Tennessee? Perhaps.

However, when Young says “Dream Team” what he means is that he’s on his own personal Dream Team. And what that means is the team is talented enough that he doesn’t have the burden of carrying it and it will allow him to collect millions of dollars while sitting on his ass.

So from his point of view his comment was taken out of context, but he still meant it. You just have to learn to speak Youngese to make sense of it.

“Pardon me, esteemed member of the journalism profession. Kindly allow me to clear up a slight misconception that has arisen from my usage of the phrase ‘Dream Team’ “…etc.

There can’t be anyone happier in the entire world than the TN media that VY is gone and CJ is holding out. Can’t imagine how much easier their jobs are since they don’t have to talk to these two. One of ‘em spouts meaningless and contradictory drivel in the third person (VY) and the other doesn’t speak English at all (CJ).

I hear ya man. He’s one of those athletes that speaks in cliche’s that he barely understands in hopes that he comes off as reasonably intelligent. The media needs to stop sticking microphones in front of these guys because they are just trying to create a story where one does not exist.
