Getty ImagesWe were rather surprised to read the news Tuesday morning in the Baltimore Sun that Mark LeVoir was the favorite to start at right tackle for the Ravens.
It was a surprise because the Ravens only signed LeVoir on Sunday. And because the Patriots didn’t think LeVoir was worth keeping on their 90-man roster.
Baltimore seems hesitant to let rookie third round pick Jah Reid start. They may also come up with a solution where they don’t use LeVoir or Reid as a starter.
Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times writes that the Ravens are “very interested” in free agent Bryant McKinnie. Perhaps the former Viking would play left tackle in Baltimore, with Michael Oher sliding back to the right side. Or maybe they want to try McKinnie at right tackle.
Whatever the answer, Baltimore’s offensive line looks rather unsettled as the opening week game against the Steelers approach.

What’s the dumpster situation behind the Ravens facility? Mt. McKinnie needs a place to dispose of his incriminating s*x toys…
You can have him we will do with adding an extra Tight end like we had to do with mckinnet sometimes anyway. Put kleinsasser on it, he’s a sneaky little shi* like you are(animal house). ha
If I had offensive line concerns I would give this guy an incentive loaded contract. If he can keep the weight off and not get in trouble off the field he could be a good pickup. That said, if he did that in the first place he would still be in Minnesota.
Do it Bryant. Good place for you to land.
Good luck.
Good luck with that fat load, imagine your one requirement was to show up in shape and Mcflabby couldn’t do it-Bum!!
I don’t really see it as strange that a team is hesitant to start a rookie on the o-line, even if your only other option is a newly acquired vet.
Ravens — remember — the Vikes O-line is not exactly the four horsemen.
I dont think any team should be intersted in a donkey like him.
The hold up is McKinnie is requesting that he be paid his signing bonus in ones.
They’re interested in him as a human garbage disposal.
Just how desperate can the Ravens be to even consider this overweight and morally bankrupt creep?
Gregg
gotta disagree man
it’s not that he was not good enough to make the 90 man roster
BB respects this guy and he is not going to make the FINAL roster cut and has no practice squad eligibilty. BB is giving this guy a fair opportunity to make another squad
Ray Rice and Joe Flacco just asked to be traded….just ask Brett and Adrian how it worked out for them, being from MN i’ve watched this guy his entire career…..dont be stupid Baltimore.

I’m confused, so the vikes lost their QB to the Ravens, too?
As a lifelong Minnesota Viking fanatic (translated means glutton for punishment) I can tell you the Ravens are trading one lazy fat slob for another, haven’t they learned their lesson from the other 6’9″ 340 lazy fat slob they let go? Apparently not. By the way kudos to the NFL Network for picking up Kris Jenkins and using Willie McGinest more, a huge upgrade from Warren Sapp and Jamie Dukes and special thanks for sending Warren Sapp out on the road-keep him there!!
How’s the rap scene in Baltimore?
Questions Bryant McKinnie would ask.
James Harrison and Lamarr Woodley are licking their chops right now.
If McKinney could only just sit on DE’s he’d have it made.
Mental note–downgrade all Ravens skill position players in FF this year.
we will run behind him ask ap how that went
Great! Less False starts.

That’s class. Typical Vikings fan turd, love the players when they’re on the squad and turn on them the second they leave. Even when they don’t leave of their own accord.
McKinnie expressed interest in crabcakes
McKinnie in bmore, earthquake close by… coincidence?
As a Ravens fan I sincerely hope this isn’t true.
Let’s recap: we all know the stories on McKinnie and they paint the picture of a horrible player and a not much better person. The Ravens would have been better served keeping injury prone Jared Gaither with his poor work ethic.
Secondly; Jah Reid actually looked pretty good playing most of the game against the Chiefs. He needs some work in pass protection, but what rookie lineman doesn’t? He’s already a mauler when it comes to run blocking, let him and LeVoir compete for the RT spot. Need I remind your Ravens FO that you started a rookie at RT for 16 games two years ago, that worked out pretty good, why hesitate in using a guy you invested a 3rd rounder in? He won’t learn stitting on the bench behind McKinnie’s 400 lb ass…
it hurt watching favre get hit, people were getting free rushes and mckinney wasn’t even touching the rusher. this dude should not be playing left tackle anymore unless he gets the weight way way down he just isn’t quick enough anymore. I can see him playing right tackle like flozell in pitt, at least its not flacco’s blind side
Well that would explain the 5.9 earthquake…..Big Mac just landed. I cant believe an organization like the Ravens would consider him.

First off, Minnesota sports fans are about the opposite of that. We quite often hate our own players and teams, even if they are decent. Believe me, McKinnie was generally hated here. Hell Mauer is catching flack locally and he is a St Paul native and former MVP catcher.
Perhaps you are a Packer fan trying to reflect your own fanbases criticisms in a pathetic way by simply shoehorning them onto a rival team?
Packer fans own a special distinction in sports in that they loved a player more than any other fanbase ever loved a player. They also hated a player more than any fanbase has ever hated a player. And it was the same guy! And all he really did was play for a couple different teams after they didn’t want him starting anymore.
Isn’t that more of what you are trying to refer to?

Oh, sorry I wasn’t classy enough for you, guy who exists only to rip other commenters. The fact is, I turned on McKinnie after he was involved in planning the love boat incident. Unlike Packer fans like you, I don’t love players just because they happen to wear my team’s jersey and turn on them the second they’re gone. I think you’re projecting.
That sound you heard was James Harrison and Lamar Woodley licking their collective chops. Flacco is wincing already.
Maybe McKinnie is interested in them also, what, with the harbor there and all. He can bring all his toys and hang out there. Who knows what can come around.
Sign him and every McDonalds in Baltimore will love you forever.
He would need to lose about 30 pounds just to practice. Go back to the tapes from last season and see how effective he was against pass rushers. The bright side is he will show up. He rarely missed a game during his career, or a free meal for that matter…..
This would be a low-risk/high reward contract. He’s worth bringing in on an incentive-based one year deal.

What are you talking about? Perhaps you are an idiot. Save armchair psychiatric assessment for your community college.
Hey maybe there thinking that they need someone to talk to haynesworth in the trenches come playoff time
Harrison and Woodley may be laying bets on which one will get double-digit sacks in game one! The smart money may be on both of them.
I think Mckinnie might be big enough to play the right and left spot at the same time…
It’s too bad the Bills are all set at Left Tackle or maybe they could sign him, Did he ever play in SD? If he did they will sign him anyway even if they don’t need him
he is on board, Ravens have a nice O Line to block for Vontae Leach and Rice, they upgraded well
hes not signed just interest unless you kno somthin we dont and he will play rt he would be a mauler with yanda next to him and grubbs pulling he worked with birk in minn

I have a lot of posts that don’t piggyback, even if I didn’t, who cares?
It’s very simple, you see my name, don’t read it.
You Packer turds just can’t help yourselves though.
Well we signed him. But the facts are that we’re in no worse shape, and actually in better shape than we were before this acquisition. I mean it’s a risky play but if they feel he can get the job done then go ahead. And if he can’t, then we’re back to square one, i.e. screwed.
