Some Broncos see Tebow as fourth best QB in camp

Tim Tebow AP

A rough month in the development of Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow is about to get a little rougher.

Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports got some some eye-opening quotes from various members of the Broncos organization that will make waves in Denver.

“If everything was totally equal, and this were a competition based only on performance at this camp, Tebow would probably be the fourth-string guy,” one source told Silver. “Kyle [Orton] is far and away the best, and Tebow’s way behind [Brady] Quinn, too. And I’m telling you, Adam Weber is flat-out better right now.”

Weber, an undrafted rookie, has no chance to actually pass Tebow on the depth chart.  But Weber has looked impressive when given the chance, and Tebow is struggling to work under center or grasp a pro offense.

One Broncos executive says to, “Forget about how [Tebow] delivers the ball, or how accurate it is. First he has to know where to go with it.”

We’re getting to the point that this feels like piling on. It seems clear Tebow has a long way to go, and this Broncos staff may never fully embrace him as the answer.  They see him as a project.

Silver confirms the Broncos were willing to trade Kyle Orton to the Dolphins for a third-round pick in late July.  Receiver Brandon Lloyd called it a “relief” when Orton stayed put.

“Sometimes the best things that happen to you in life are the things that don’t happen,” one high-ranking official told Silver.

The usual caveats apply. Tebow was always supposed to take time.  Through hard work, the Broncos think perhaps he could improve enough to start.

Maybe Tebow will be a succesful starter someday, in Denver or elsewhere.  If that happens, we’ll hear a lot about how Tebow proved the “haters” wrong and overcame some low moments in his career.

It’s hard to imagine it will get much lower than being called the fourth-best quarterback on the Broncos, by the Broncos.

    Yeah.

it seems apparent they don’t want him there.

trade him, get something back for him/blame mcdaniels for setting the franchise back a little by trading up for him, and let him go some where that wants him.

Adam Weber is a diamond in the rough. He played for four different offensive coordinators at Minnesota so he had to learn a new offense every year and he performed really well. Give him some solid and consistent coaching and he can be a very good backup quarterback.

This guys goes in the first round of the draft and the Raiders take a project in the 3rd round of the supplemental draft and get crucified for it, sounds right.

  16. jacunn2000 says: Aug 23, 2011 3:42 PM

He would be better served to be with the Raiders.. Tim and Pryor could sit on each side of Al Davis’s Throne.

  22. mello10 says: Aug 23, 2011 3:45 PM

I’ll never understand why so many people root for him to fail. Everyone wants to kick him while he’s down. It’s just a game. You should be rooting against TEAMS, not individual players.

  23. sprest83 says: Aug 23, 2011 3:45 PM

And who is surprised? Everyone was speculating that he would likely be a better fit as a TE coming out of college.

Yeah, I’m gonna listen to Brandon Loyd……

  25. elwaysbrain says: Aug 23, 2011 3:46 PM

Where’s all this coming from? Tebow had a better record and put up better numbers in the final 3 games (his only starts) than Orton did in his final 3 games last season. Suddenly people make it look like he’s not ready to play. I think they forgot he already played last season and was pretty good. Actually he was considered the #1 QB going into camp.

John Fox and John Elway don’t know what they’re doing, that’s the problem.

    =============

    I agree.

I have said from the start that Tebow had no shot, so it’s not like I am defending him, but this is getting ridiculous.

It is obvious that the new regime is doing everything it can to distance itself from the Tebow pick and laying the ground work for getting rid of him.

None of it is necessary. Keep your feelings in house and then release him at the appropriate time.

Releasing him will send the message just as strongly without embarrassing the kid with an endless stream of negative press.

This kid didn’t draft himself. The responsibility for taking this kid too high and placing unrealistic expectations on him still falls squarely on the organization, I don’t care how many new faces are now in charge.

Lay off. If you want to cut him, cut him. But knock it off with the public disparagement.

  30. highpowered350 says: Aug 23, 2011 3:48 PM

  32. sabotage2u says: Aug 23, 2011 3:48 PM

Man what an unprofessional organization the Bronco’s are running. If you don’t want the guy as your QB or on your team cut or trade him, but these constant “whispers” or “leaks” to embarass the guy is just pathetic. Love or hate Tebow all you want, obviously he’s not a NFL starter right out of the box (nor was he suppossed to be). The fact can’t be disputed that he did go 2-1 as a starter last year, and has thrown for over 300 yards in a real game that actually counts. I’m willing to wager a great deal of money that “Adam Weber” will never throw for 300 yards as an NFL Starter, so this “Broncos official” sounds more like he’s got an agenda or ax to grind in leaking this info.

  38. 4t9er says: Aug 23, 2011 3:50 PM

  39. phillyfan4ever says: Aug 23, 2011 3:50 PM

I know the broncos have no chance at being good this year so every is all over Tebow, but come on the guy is not going to be a starting QB in this league for some time, if ever.

  40. grizzkev says: Aug 23, 2011 3:50 PM

Before people call me out saying I’m a Tebow slap, no way. I’m a lions fan.

I realize that spread QBs don’t do that well out the gate, but if they are that down on them, these types of comments don’t help your quarterback’s confidence or development. No matter the player.

Alright, he’s developing quick enough, but if they don’t want to keep him, trade him. The Bronco organization isn’t doing anything to help his trade stock rise.

  41. grizzkev says: Aug 23, 2011 3:52 PM

  42. glac1 says: Aug 23, 2011 3:52 PM

  44. FinFan68 says: Aug 23, 2011 3:53 PM

It’s the new “hip” thing to bash Tebow. He is not a first round caliber QB but the bottom line is this guy finds a way to win games. Rather than bash him for not being the next Elway, maybe they ought to embrace what he is actually capable of doing for the franchise. He sells tickets, he scores TDs, he has boosted the fanbase; etc. He is not the best QB in Denver, but he doesn’t need to be in order to help the Broncos.

  45. tfbuckfutter says: Aug 23, 2011 3:53 PM

  47. troy10 says: Aug 23, 2011 3:55 PM

Why are Bronco fans so adamant to see this guy be their QB? They act like the front office is sabotaging this guy. Don’t you think they’d WANT him to succeed since he’s a 1st rounder.
Face facts.. he might be a great guy.. and he might even be an NFL football player (maybe TE), but he’s just not an NFL quarterback.

  48. jakek2 says: Aug 23, 2011 3:56 PM

He’s actually the 5th best QB in their organization. 50 year old Elway is still better.

  56. ras1tafari says: Aug 23, 2011 3:59 PM

It’s over in Denver for Tebow. The organization apparently hates him as a player, so send him off to someone who will give the kid a chance.

I hope Tebow goes on to crush this league, and especially John Fox and Denver.

  57. oriolesvsravens says: Aug 23, 2011 4:00 PM

I actually feel kinda bad for Tebow. Imagine the high he came off of after playing at UF, getting a Heisman, critics saying your a 3rd round pick at best and you get drafted in the first round. Winning a couple of games late in the season and hearing speculation that you could be the starter when Orton gets traded (overlooking Quinn by the way). To this….

  58. universalcynic says: Aug 23, 2011 4:01 PM

Nice. Sources. Now I’m on the trolley.

It still doesn’t make much sense to cut this guy. But I’m getting the impression that the Broncos brass is basically saying “Yeah, he may be on the team, but we didn’t draft him.”

  59. stixzidinia says: Aug 23, 2011 4:01 PM

Trade him? His trade value is nil. You’ll get a bag of used kicking balls for him at best. A shame. Tebow (and his legions of idiot bible thumper fans) may be annoying, but his attitude and work ethic are sound.

  60. 90sniners says: Aug 23, 2011 4:02 PM

Denver fans can blame themselves. Everyone knows he was drafted as a project and would take a few years at the very least, but nooooo, you have Denver fans calling for him in his 2nd season with the expectation that he’s ready to start now. Except he’s not, and now there is all this pressure on this kid when nothing has really changed in the first place. He’s still a project.

Denver is just a mess. They’re down there with the Bengals, Raiders, and Bills as far as being a poorly ran franchise. You got John Elway calling all the shots with no front office experience, and fans just blindly following him because he’s “John Elway.” It’s a joke really.

    ____________

You’re darn right they’re in first place! 20-6 to be exact! Unfortunately, in Game 7 of the WNBA Western Conference Finals, with the game tied near the end, Lindsay Whalen will ignore a wide open Maya Moore under the basket and force a pass across her body to a double-covered Seimone Augustus that gets intercepted, and the Lynx will lose in overtime.

  66. bronco1st says: Aug 23, 2011 4:06 PM

If this is true, Tebow should be cut immediately to give him a chance to get picked up by another team. It’s is very classless to keep him around as the whipping boy. If the Broncos cut him before Sept 2nd when his $6.28M bonus is due, they will save that money and rid themselves of the Tebow spotlight drama.

Tebow produced the best passer rating of any rookie QB last season. The best YPC by a full 3 yards per over Bradford. He also should have had more rushing TDs than any rookie RB. Ryan Matthews went to town on the Bronco defense in the game they played to nip Tebow by one.

    – They don’t see him as a project – they see him as a scapegoat. It gives them a free year to suck, and at the end of the year, they can say, “well what could you expect? We had Josh McDaniels’ Tebow albatross hung around our necks all year long”.

It’s an NFL coach’s dream. They get to suck, draw a paycheck, and at the end of it all blame it on someone else so that there is absolutely no risk of losing their jobs until after next year. The entire Bronco’s staff should send 20% of their paychecks to McDaniels this season as a little “thank you”.

  112. Deb says: Aug 23, 2011 4:51 PM

I like and respect Tebow personally. But none of this should surprise anyone. Tebow had never seen a pro-style offense. He was a take-one-read-and-run spread QB with a bad throwing motion. I don’t care how many awards he won in college–the NFL is a different world. His chances of making it as a QB were always limited. Holmgren said as much before the draft, and that man knows his QBs.

Tim should have gone in the third or fourth round to a team like Pittsburgh or New Orleans that had a strong starter and could take time to develop him or try him out as a tight end or fullback. Instead McDaniels screwed him with the most idiotic draft grandstand since Ditka and Ricky Williams.

After McDaniels, these trade-talking fools, and wildly delusional reporters and fans made Tebow believe he was on track to be the next Elway, it will be tough to reposition him. And that may be the only chance he has for NFL success. But I hope Denver deals him next year. He needs to go where the coaching staff will respect who and what he can bring instead of resenting that they’re overpaying for someone who can’t live up to the hype.

You seem to think that another team would want a project like Tebow.

This ought to be another lesson to NFL GMs to avoid QBs who played in a QB-friendly gimmick system where they didn’t have to make reads or work out of the shotgun. They invariably can’t make the transition to the NFL where they have to make decisions and come to terms with blitzes.

Also, they should avoid Heisman winning QBs like the plague. There has been ONE (Palmer) better than average Heisman winning QB since 1990. That’s pathetic.

This kid was one of the greatest College football players of all time, never says a bad thing about anybody and works his ass off. Give him a break already. He didn’t ask to be drafted where he was. He may not make it, but it won’t be from lack of effort. No wonder the Broncos suck so bad. 133. mogogo1 says: Aug 23, 2011 5:23 PM

On the one hand, there’s absolutely no reason for Elway, Fox or anybody else with the Broncos to have it in for Tebow–his success would be their success and it would save them having to draft another QB down the road. That said, I can’t fathom why there are so many negative leaks coming out of the organization about him.

Even if they’d totally given up on him, the LAST thing they should be saying are bad things because that kills their leverage if they wanted to trade him. Right now, teams would be stupid to offer anything in a trade; they can just wait for Denver to release him.

Actually your facts can be disputed. He went 1-2 as a starter, not 2-1. his only win your your fantastic 300 yard game was against the WORST pass defence in the league. Even weber could throw for 300 on last years Texans. The other 2 games he LOST were to teams that couldn’t make the playoff and could care less about the outcome, and yet MEbow still couldn’t do anything.
It would take about 1 minute for defensive coordinator to figure out to just crowd the line and stop tebust from running, keep him in the pocket and force him to throw to beat you. The bronco’s wold be 2-14 with this clown as the starting QB.

All the haters are not able to back themselves up at all. I am a life long Broncos fan, and this is just out of control. He has started THREE FREAKING GAMES. Lost one by a good margin, won the next, and lost the other by 5 points. What everyone doesn’t understand, or take into consideration is the fact our defense was ranked LAST IN THE LEAGUE. Give the kid a good O line, and a full offseason after this year, and a revamped defense next year, and he is going to be great.

Mike McCoy (OC) likes the kid, and they are not hurting anything keeping him as the third string for the rest of the season. He can come in and do specialty packages in the red zone (Orton’s weakness). He learns, and learns, and learns all season, and then has a FULL offseason to fix whatever is not working right, at this moment. Remember, he could only work on everything without any offseason program.

He is NOT a bust. Work in progress, YES. He will work harder, and better than any other QB in the league to get better, and noone can deny that. Once he gets it, which could be soon, he will get it. If the Broncos trade him away, it will be a mistake that will bite them in the A S S for a long time. We aren’t going to the Super Bowl this year, so everyone just needs to relax.

Hate away people, but remember one thing, it is easier to criticize someone on their faults, then to critique their good values.

I am not going to bash Tebow. But I will say this…….Sometimes I just do not understand how some GMs and so called draft gurus have their jobs. Many people knew this kid would have a hard time playing QB in the NFL, so why waste a 1st rd pick, put undue pressure on him and set him and your team up for failure? The guy has talent and there is no denying that but he does not have the skills to play QB. A 1st rd QB should not have the issue that Tebow had coming out of college. Most NFL fans knew this, most sports writers knew this so why didn’t the GM at the time or McDaniels know this? I mean I would love to have a job where I get paid a ton of money to screw someones team up even if it was just for a year.

  153. notjcred says: Aug 23, 2011 6:26 PM

As a Broncos fan, I don’t want to see (yet, another) 1st round pick go to waste and Tebow doesn’t show anything that indicates he will ever be an NFL QB. That doesn’t mean the kid can’t ball, at all. I could see him being a good pass-catching TE (where we have no room) or the 2nd modern player (Chris Cooley) to invoke “What the hell is an h-back?”

He has NFL play-maker potential, but not as a QB.

  154. txhc says: Aug 23, 2011 6:27 PM

You know, if all this stuff is true then the Broncos are handling this very stupidly. Why not just keep their mouths shut and put him on the trade block? All they’re doing by saying stuff like this is killing any value he might have and their only options will be to keep a QB that they clearly don’t want and pray that he can put it together (he won’t in the system they want to run, he’s not a John Elway type of QB) or cut him. The Broncos brass are idiots.

  155. phaktor333 says: Aug 23, 2011 6:30 PM

I understand McDaniels trying to get his own pet project in house. However, I think about all the OTHER moves that he made which set the franchise back. Alphonso Smith for one…trading a 1st round pick for a 2nd round pick which was an undersized corner that couldn’t tackle to save his life (see Deion Branch on Thanksgiving in 2010), Trading Cutler, Brandon Marshall and Peyton Hillis and replacing them with Brady Quinn, Knowshown Moreno and Brandon Lloyd. Completely overhauling the defense and switching to a 3-4 when the personnel did not match it…at least phase into it! No, he cut, slashed and burned the defense, which wilted down the stretch in his two year run. Tebow is the smallest of issues that has befallen the Broncos. If McDaniels managed the team correctly and did not cap it into purgatory, he would be still be coach and Tebow would be tucked away safely training to be the QOTF. The only reason why this is an issue is because he is under the microscope with a staff that does not want him. They are the ones purposely leaking this info out in order to justify his release or relegation to Charlie Whitehurst country.

  156. Deb says: Aug 23, 2011 6:35 PM

Speaking of likes…Where all the write ups of the other choosen draft athlete, Patrick Peterson. Heard he’s not doing to well on his team. Near a word is uttered by you media folks about it. Just nonstop write-ups on those whose NFL careers u predicted to not go very far.

Some do hate Tim Tebow because he is Tim Tebow, but not everyone. I like his athleticism, love his enthusiasm and don’t think being openly Christian is a negative. However, he has proven that he isn’t ready to be a starting QB and hasn’t shown anything to indicate that he is any closer than when he was drafted. As I’ve already said, I think he has the potential to have a great NFL career, but not at Quarterback.

Its a shame to read all the negative articles about Tebow. It would be one thing if this kid came out with an attitude like Cam Newton but the kid is his humble and just wants to play football. All the quotes coming out of the Broncos organization tell me that they dont want him as a Bronco – even if thats not the case, all the quotes coming from the organization give that implication, IMO. They should cuthe kid loose and cut their losses if they dont see any value in him.

  168. kurb21 says: Aug 23, 2011 7:20 PM

I will put it out there, I am a huge Tim Tebow fan. That said..the Bronco’s management did not draft Tebow, McDaniel’s did.

Tim seems like Sarah Palin with the way he is attacked and smeared through the media, and I think it only has a little to do with his religion. No one on the team is invested in him and I truly believe that John Elway, a local legend and Hall of Famer, resents him. I think John sees a player who is extremely popular, nationally, and his ego cannot handle it. While I do not think that John is unprofessional enough to try to stunt Tim’s growth, it is clear that SOMEONE within the organization is on some kind of political smear campaign against him. The amount of “sources” within the organization who are taking shots at this kid is shocking. What high level player would want to play for an organization who takes shots through the media at its own players?

In Denver, there is a lot of controversy over this player, with one side of fans who are hateful toward him and another side who blindly follow and defend him. I think most people are just looking to find a connection with someone and Tim and his style of play is something many people find appealing.

I do acknowledge that Kyle Orton is a good, consistent QB who has handled this whole media created mess perfectly, because inside the locker room, I don’t think there has been an issue. Kyle is the better QB, and I think all anyone wants is for the Broncos to support Tim Tebow and try to develop him into an effective starter. This smear campaign is just awful and painful to watch. It looks horrible for the Broncos.

  172. ericdinosaur says: Aug 23, 2011 7:34 PM

All John Elway has done is turn the bronco franchise into a high school hallway with all the leaked whispers and rumors. It’s ridiculous. This team is being run like it’s amateur hour.

Facts are Tebow played decently last year. He won a game and like any rookie had his downs. But I thought they had something they could build from.

  173. tomny0970 says: Aug 23, 2011 7:43 PM

Okay, so the guy isn’t very accurate, can’t throw it very far and takes too long to release the football. But he’s really great at rallying his teammates for a spirited version of “Kumbaya.”

On a serious note, the Broncos are really hammering the trade value of one of their own players. They should shop him and try to get a #5 somewhere or something, but it makes it difficult to get good value when all you do is allow leaks to the public about how bad one of your guys is.

“What high level player would want to play for an organization who takes shots through the media at its own players?”

Agree with everything you said about Tebow except this. Tebow isn’t a high-level player, he’s a first-round draft pick with a national profile. And right now, that 1st rounder is 4th on the depth chart?? Any organization that had the same situation would have just as many doubters and leakers taking potshots through the media.

In fact, he’s got it easy in Denver. Imagine if this were Chicago or Philly. Tebow wouldn’t leave his house.

    Al alway gets the bullet.

On a side note, The Raider -Denver game was much closer last year when Tebow played…….just saying.

  177. simalex says: Aug 23, 2011 8:10 PM

I’m really trying and struggling to figure out Denver’s motivations with these brutally pessimistic, anonymously planted quotes. I just can’t figure out WHY they’re saying the things they’re saying.

The most puzzling part is that they’re imploding the trade market for him by so thoroughly exposing the flaws in his game. Who does that??

I came up with other possible theories, but all of them seemed too convoluted or there would be a huge hole in the logical reasoning. (i.e., Are they trying to motivate him through the press? And so on.)

I happen to think sheer incompetence is the “why” behind this public blasting of a young athlete with an unclear skill set. Meaning that a team capable of drafting a clear project – Tebow – in Round 1 is also probably capable of botching how to handle him and how to smoothly transition him into some other role on offense. My guess is that they’re probably just running their mouths in exasperation that they can’t get him to play better, and not thinking about the fact that agents, other players, college talent and so forth are observing how the Broncos handle this tricky situation.

So, basically, whoever is talking, for whatever reason, is a doing the team a huge disservice and should shut the f up, immediately.

  178. raqaiw says: Aug 23, 2011 8:12 PM

Not a fan or hater of Tebow, but the dude did win 25% of the games you won last year as a rookie. If Orton is that much better, you’d think he could’ve put together more than 3 wins. Orton won 3/13, or 23% of games started, whereas Tebow won 1/3, or 33%. Give the dude a chance man.

If Tebow were purely viewed as a McDaniels project he would be gone, along with the other hires that the current management has already jettisoned. But this is a business, not a personal vendetta against McDaniels.

Long-time Broncos fans remember the crap Elway took during the many years before he finally won a Super Bowl. Tebow screwed up when he spent the offseason working on things other than what he was supposed to be working on. He knows it, the coaches know it, and the fans know it. Tebow will either gut it out and do what it takes to earn the starter’s job, or he’s going to find himself off the team.

But thanks to this article, I now know that Denver now has four quarterbacks it would rather have than Jay Cutler.

  184. lostsok says: Aug 23, 2011 9:06 PM

All you bedwetting bleeding hearts that think the Broncos are being unfair to Tebow need to pump the brakes. If this so-called leak is real it’s nothing new in the NFL, every team does it, even your favorite team.

If the fact that it’s happening to such a media/fan darling makes it unbearable to you perhaps you’re better off sticking to Disney movies. Tuck in your skirt, Princess! It happens all the time.

And to those idiots that think John Elway is threatened or resentful of a Tim Tebow, you are literally too stupid to insult so l won’t waste any more time on that.

    The only problem with that theory is this;

Elway was born with gifts that no current NFL QB can match considered by some to be the best draft prospect of all time, Sports Illustrated’s “Gods Gift To Football”. He played numerous PB’s and 5 SB’s, winning 2 Championships while going out on top as the SB MVP.

A First Ballot HoFer he later went on to be just as successful in business and personal life where he was busy banging Playboy Playmates and Raiderettes when he wasn’t building/selling car dealerships worths tens of millions and buying/guiding an Fake Football Arena League to a Championship.

Elway has moved on to a new challenge after the owner of the only NFL team he ever played for came begging for him to return and give a galactically incompetent franchise some semblance of respectability.

And yet YOU…….think John Elway is somehow threatened or resentful of an overdrafted 3rd to 5th round underwear salesman?

My Guess is that you were either still a cheerleader for your older brothers Pop Warner football eam the last time John Elway played or just obscenely stupid…….

Josh McDaniels really screwed you fans in Denver. Orton has another good 5 years in him and potentially 8 years, barring injury. Tebow = Ken Dorsey, a proven winner with good individual stats, but surrounded by great players that made him look good.

Teams were smart with Dorsey, though, he was taken late and teams saw what he could do — which wasn’t too much.

  194. gravity4164 says: Aug 23, 2011 11:56 PM

Tim Tebow is a project to the point that nobody can be sure what his floor is, much less his ceiling.

Forget the fact that was a 1st rnd pick, that he’s a great guy who can sell ice to an eskimo…….forget that he performs circumcisions in 3rd world countries and was homeschooled…….forget that he went 1-2 in 3 unearned starts, threw for 300 yac yards against the worst pass defense in recent memory and could be paid almost $10 mil in 2 pro seasons to do nothing more than provide a spark off the bench…….forget all that and you’ll come to the same conclusion that the presense of Tim Tebow shouldn’t have any more bearing on the Denver Broncos future plans at the QB position than any other 5th round QB prospect.

They’ll keep him, they’re stuck with him, they have no choice but to try to develop him. If he develops into something, gravy, but they’d be wise to have a Plan A, Plan B and Plan C.

But be careful what you wish for, tho, Denver, you may just end up with Kyle Ortonary…….

Have you seen the comments on the gay-issue articles?

I think saying people hate him because of his religion is, at the very least, being overly simplistic. There have been many outspoken religious players, and few took the kind of heat Tebow has. I think the frustration aimed at Tebow is more the result of him constantly (sometimes through no fault of his own) being in the spotlight. If he were gay, or a different skin color, or politically outspoken, people would mask their resentment in those issues.

I also want to point out that there is a huge difference between critique someone’s religious or political views, and their sexual orientation and skin color. If you don’t know the difference, ask your smartest friend to explain it to you. If they don’t know the difference, find new friends.

This is all obviously a PR move by the Broncos to discredit Tebow to the fans so that they can move him. So be it. Orton is not the future, so I can only hope we go 0 – 16 and get Andrew Luck next year. Unfortunately, the “brain trust” of the Broncos have improved the defense and Orton will get about 6 wins, taking us out of the Luck lottery and condemning the Broncos to mediocrity for years to come, unless they can figure out some other way to get a franchise quarterback.

  205. wilnel1984 says: Aug 24, 2011 10:52 AM

I don’t know if this has been posted yet, but Erik Decker used to be Adam Weber’s favorite target at Minnesota. It doesn’t surprise me that Weber looks better than expected. One of his buds is probably helping him out a lot.

That said, you would think that Tebow would recognize Decker’s talent. I mean, he made Weber look good at Minnesota, and apparently at Denver as well, you would think that Timmy would work more with the guy. Perhaps he isn’t. His loss. Decker is pretty good. I know his stats aren’t great yet, but the guy can play. He could be another version of Wes Welker.

He sure doesn’t deserve that from his management, team mates or coaches. The water in Denver appears to be too red with Tebow blood right now. If Kyle Orton (who is actually pretty good), and Brady Quinn fail. Denver fans won’t forgive Elway or the coaches about how they treated Tim Tebow. He may not be as good as those three other guys right now, with his confidence shot. But why say it? Just release him and allow the kid to find his mojo or destiny somewhere else.
